  1. Fellow Juvenile Delinquents, In "Ten Cent Plague" by David Hadjou, he mentions a television program "Confidential File Horror Comic Books". I ran a search and could not find any mention of the video on the forums. I love The Corpse that Came to Dinner by Reed Crandall, so much that I have two copies of Out of the Shadows #9.
  2. Manhunt Detective Story Monthly March 1953
  3. Not my copies, but still interesting. Neal Adams cover! I love the amused look on Supe's face. Wonder Woman 155 during the height of the sixties monster craze. Dan DeCarlo!
  4. You will enjoy NYCC. I have attended SDCC 25 times and NYCC six times. i will be attending NYCC this year and will be also be eating at Quality Meats with my hostess and her husband. Be certain to make a reservation for Quality Meats, otherwise you have to wait and eat odd hours. One time, without a reservation, the wait was two hours. Don't buy all the good stuff. Leave some for us old slow coots.
  5. Here is my copy compliments of AnkurJ. I also have a copy from Metropolis that I call the road rash copy, but don't have a picture handy.
  6. I remember reading where the giants were merely bundled remainder comics. So each 25 cent giant could contain different interiors. For EC giants, the interiors vary widely.
  7. I also put PL23 last. I was also going to leave it off the list, but realized since the lowest total number would be the highest ranked, giving PL23 zero would put the comic on top.
  8. Voted Phase Two, but was surprised to see PL23 on the list of best Matt Baker covers. Jack Kamen has always been listed as the artist to the cover of PL23. Kamen was very well known for GGA.
  9. Robot Man, Wow, you have a "good eye." You can spot these treasures from a mile away.
  10. 38 Blue 1 PLOD (Purple label) 19 graded at 7.0 and above. Since your supply is pretty low, the price will be high. 8.0 went for $501.90 in August 2017 Heritage Auction. Depending on where you reside, you may have to add sales tax to the final cost. Before the 8.0, there have been no Heritage Auctions of slabbed copies since 2010. I tried to win a Four Color 238 Blue 9.0 on Heritage, but quit at $775. With Buyer's Premium and Sales Tax, the next bid would be over GPA.
  11. Here is my slightly miscut CL29. Got it cheap at NYCC, where the dealer did not know who Matt Baker was. The shading on the clothing and car is impressive. Don't play tennis, but do have tennis elbow.
  12. My top three. Here are pictures formerly from my photobucket account.
  13. I usually bring snacks and water from outside (Duane Reade (Walgreens) and CVS), since the food prices are really high. There were food trucks last year, which was better than the convention hall food. As you enter the convention center, security will look inside your bags. I only go for the comic books, so I can run through the convention in one day, but usually go two days. If you want autographs or photo ops, buy tickets as soon as possible. Some guests will sell out fast especially photo ops. Wear comfortable walking shoes. The convention floor will wear out even the most hearty attendees.
  14. One of the moderators from another forum lives just outside Houston and told me that one third of the houses were destroyed by Harvey.
  15. Depends on what you are looking for (Gold, Silver, or Bronze, Copper, or Modern?) You can always count on G.A.tor, Filter81, Harley Yee, or Bob Storms (High Grade Comics). Metropolis Comics located in NYC will be there. At SDCC one year, I asked Metropolis about a slabbed book that I wished to purchase. They overnighted the slab to the con and I purchased the book the next day. Tell them what you are looking for ahead of time, since they can't bring everything.
  16. Atomic Bomb cost me $60 back in the 70s. Under a different name with zero feedback. Same picture. This is a total ripoff. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Disney-pocket-comics-including-rare-Donald-Duck-Atomic-Bomb-v-g-condition/292241866412?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D41375%26meid%3D2f3ef409551840e081298a59fc11a822%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D3%26sd%3D332368345901&_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850
  17. Shatner really raised his prices. At 2013 NYCC, a personalized autograph was $50. I missed out on the photo ops. His autograph is illegible.
  18. Avengers 6 with inking by Chic Stone. Not my favorite Kirby page, but only page I own.
  19. I was missing one card, but I don't remember which. Fortunately, my late older brother knew some kid, whose father owned a grocery store and had tons of extras. I still have my original set. Love how you framed the wrappers as if they were still filled with cards. How tough was it to find the 1967 Leaf Star Trek wrapper, which was a super rare regional issue and withdrawn quickly for licensing reasons.
  20. The box came with the first Big Mac that I ate at the first McDonald's in the San Francisco bay area in the seventies. Soon afterwards, Big Macs came in Styrofoam boxes. I kept one Styrofoam box, but it got crushed. I thought the original red box was really cool, so I carefully removed and ate the Big Mac and kept the box.
  21. I found this original Big Mac box that I kept from my first McDonald's visit.
  22. Robot Man always delivers even when he is going on his treasure hunts. Comic books were well packed, quickly delivered and a great value. Thanks again! Highly recommended!
  23. Looks like GAtor traded all his comics for a case of Coke Zero. Thanks for sharing the great pictures.
