  1. 1959 Topps Wacky Plaks, with art by Jack Davis. This one is my personal favorite.
  2. Fantastic show put on by Gene and his crew. The selection of dealers was equal to SDCC, without the lines and Funkos. Price of admission included a tshirt for early ticket buyers. Goodie bag included some cool comic books and this great fanzine, which had an interview with one of my all time favorite artist, Mark Schultz. Photo of @Primetime@G.A.tor and me.
  3. The booth with Cap 74 was next to Bedrock’s booth. The Cap 33 was in Bunky Brian’s booth.

  9. Back in 1973, Gary Arlington, super EC Fanatic, underground comix publisher, and owner of the San Francisco Comic Book Company, started the Nickel Library project, hoping to publish homage covers devoted to EC Comics. He enthusiastically planned 500 pages at a nickel a page. After 64 pages, Bill Gaines, who owned the rights, threatened to sue Gary for $50k. Nickel Library Here are some Wally Wood examples.

  11. That is a great Indy. Here is my custom Blondie from Good, Bad, and Ugly. Sculpture by Trevor Grove. Custom paint by Iminime
  12. The Record King was owned by Joe Colabella, who now resides in Clear Lake and sells football cards. I remember purchasing stacks of old baseball cards from Joe in the seventies and my Four Color 29.
  13. In 1971, my parents moved from North Beach into the Mission District of San Francisco, when I was a sophomore in high school. I attended the academic Lowell High School located at the other side of the city. Students at other schools openly despised us. Every day, I commuted to the high school on public transit. I started buying regularly from the comic store legend, Gary Arlington, located on 23rd Street. At first, I collected early silver age Marvels. My first GA was Superman 22. Not my copy, but still own it. Over the years, I bought regularly from Gary. After his shop closed, I visited him several times until his death in 2014. We would talk for hours. He bought an original Carl Barks Duck painting for around $200 from Carl. He was known as an EC super fan, but never owned a Tales of Terror Annual 1. Check out the ladder sitting on the old comics.🤢
  14. He is a retired CHP officer, who is bigger than I. He works on safety issues for the local bus company to build his second pension. He knows every donut shop in town.😂

  18. One of the weirdest comics ever, with cowboys, Nazis, outer space, and Hitler appearance. Would need some pch, super heroes, romance, and funny animals to include every genre into one comic book.
  19. Super7 GI Joe From the end of Pyramid of Darkness. Baroness as nurse Cobra Commander as old lady Destro as city worker
