  1. Illinois to me... wait... no... passed THROUGH my local post office to another town's post office. Called them up to pick it up there... Nope... they put it in the system... it went upstate New York... back to Jersey... to Queens and then delivered to me in Nassau County. Sure. I was lucky to even get it I thought to myself... And GI Joe Snake Eyes was safe and sound... and in the end that is all that mattered.
  2. Yes... and this month there are only 6 pages of art listings... and nothing that is of the caliber that Clink has been auctioning off in the last year. A friend of mine told me that one of the big auction houses was asking around for consignments for upcoming auctions. He turned them down in this market. However I did propose to him to list things in a more controlled environment on their respective exchanges.
  3. International sales or domestic ?
  4. Oh and btw @Vick93 Seriously, great thread. These are the types of threads I very much enjoy reading on the boards.
  5. This was the first time I have ever heard of this type of variant. Those that collect Valiant are a more niche collector base so to some of us this is a variant. To those it is a printer error. I would love to see recorded data for the book in terms of price. I guarantee you though that most have traded hands without being realized for what they are. This is something that would normally escape most collectors. I would assume that there are many of them out in the wild but the eBay search says otherwise. On the other hand there are still Valiant collectors that are hoarding every book they can find due to love of the publisher.
  6. For example... this gun is almost pure black...
  7. I checked through my two 9.8s and 6 raw copies. I don't have one. I also went though 579 BIN listings on eBay and looked at each one over the course of over an hour... I did not see a single copy. However! I did notice that this book has a lot of registration issues where I see a few examples where the gun is completely black with no highlights whatsoever. No matter what comes up though, even all this time it is an iconic and striking cover.
  8. It think it all started from here with comics. The coin fiasco was another thing all together. There is a board member though who goes by the Heritage-Shill-Bidder Nickname which I find quite amusing. But, I cannot remember what that name is at this moment.
  9. No one would go and it would not allow the con to be feasible. Disney/Marvel and Time Warner/DC are the largest of the comic companies. As of 2016(?) Disney has scaled back appearances at other people's cons and have made the gradual shift toward making their reveals at D23 Expo. San Diego is starting to need Disney/Marvel more than Disney/Marvel needs San Diego. As it is companies find NYCC too cost prohibitive to have a setup on the floor. Hasbro rents an area offsite every year to showcase their wares. If you eliminate them out of SDCC? Well, Hasbro already laid down the foundation for HasCon and I have a suspicion that once they launch Transformers again and IF GI Joe Snake Eyes is successful, we will see them start to shift some of their focus away from there as well. Take out everything but comics and you do not have enough vendors that can financially support what SD wants in terms of space. Sure, they will scale back, but to what point? Will it be worth it? Like it or not, the show has evolved. Same is true with NYCC. It 7:15. I have to get out of bed and get ready for my commute... to the other side of the house to go to work.
  10. Ok, I will ask. First, are you okay? Someone once made the mistake with me that I wasn't responding and they did not know that I was in the hospital. There have been reverse instances where the non-paying bidder or the seller passed away in the middle of a transaction. Think that actually happened once on these boards. Things happen... So, are you okay?
  11. I get my free pass and this might be the proverbial straw that makes me stay at home from NYCC this year.
  12. Certain parties was very restrained in the Wheels are in Motion. Had that party been provided an audience with the complainant, there is no doubt that one of the individuals would have been slapped upside the head.
  13. I think after the second resurrection that this became the first thread I posted dinner pics.
  14. It's a toughie... When I was collecting for myself I noticed a few people selling the 2006 mass market TRU reissue as either the 1986 original through malfeasance or ignorance. Be careful if you try to replace it if you want the authentic 1986 Viper with the Viper parts. Not only was the 2006 made up of some different parts like the Bat waist but supposedly it is made up of more brittle plastic... and that is in comparison to the already brittle plastic of 1986 https://www.yojoe.com/action/06/viper15a.shtml 2006 Reissue
  15. Sometimes it’s the clientele. I like Disney but I’m not weird about it. Once I stopped working for Disney I sold a lot of my old cast member stuff. There were some “interesting” buyers back then.
  16. Not plastic crack... but I like vintage Mickey Mouse stuff... When I was going through ToyScout1's listings (see the other thread started by the new guy) to look at his comic books I came across this... I did not like the condition so I found a far superior example from another seller for $60 shipped + tax - my eBay bucks. I wanted my kindergarten lunchbox back... don't know why... I don't collect lunchboxes or anything like that... but I wanted this back. It is in really really nice shape. This was from a time period when I still had hopes and dreams Check it out, I am looking forward to getting it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/333567542205
  17. As a kid my go to Snake was a custom between V2 and V3... I liked the V3 head on the V2 body. I forget whether or not I swapped the arms and legs as well... but I know the V3 head on the V2 torso was my go to.
  18. I wound up selling the 1.5 version that I picked up at NYCC for $125. It was near perfect and I only had about $30 into him. Zaps with all arms and complete thumbs are fetching a lot. I had numerous offers for $100-115. I wanted to stay firm on the price just to see what happened and someone eventually bought it. There are a lot of figures that have that flawed hand and thumb combo from the first few years. Recondo comes to mind because the gun was not made for that right arm and snaps the thumb easily as well.
  19. I made sure to pick up the Dollar General update as well. My only disappointment with the modern line was that they never did an update of the 93-94 Ninja Snake Eyes. I really thought that figure would have been the final club exclusive.
