  1. Thought that prices on ASM Silver was around where they usually are. Things are not going to increase every month you know... People are still spending strongly with certain things.
  2. I've not bought a single book since my LCS owner retired and closed the store back in December. I will eventually place an order with MCS to catch up with ASM but will wait until all the books before the printing hiatus ship. However, I've noticed that people ARE buying. I list it and leave it and have noticed that people must be going stir crazy or something in that they are just hitting those straight up BIN's. I'm okay with that.
  3. I was on video conferencing today while someone in the background would not turn the music off. Then they could not understand why I muted them. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA The power of the Zoom Host !
  4. I'm in contract to have my bathroom redone during this time period. Due to village code and the reality that there was no way to hide the dumpster, I had to go through the town and used a local company to do it. My main concern now is whether or not this is going to get done and how long it will take. At some point they have to redo the plumbing and will be shutting the water supply off to the house for a bit. They start April 8th
  5. Thanks... I've noticed an increase in orders headed overseas using eBay GSP so I was wondering. In the last 19 days, I've sent out three that were headed to Canada, one to China, and one to Australia. I am wondering what happens when a nation closes its borders before the mail is delivered. Could be interesting to see how eBay handles it because there could be quite a few claims. With GSP it's on their end if I understand it correctly once they process the order in Kentucky.
  6. I am wondering if any nations have suspended domestic and/or international mail.
  7. One of the local takeout places shut down as one of the food preparers is now a diagnosed case. And so begins the end of takeout.
  8. We trade across the family. What do I give? I bought the subscription to Disney+ at the Labor Day special for like $3 a month for the next three years? I gave that to my parents, girlfriend, and my brother. (Got that before Verizon made the 1 year announcement) I subscribe to Netflix which I give to my parents. I have Amazon Prime - which, without the shows, I would still subscribe to... I give that to my parents... What am I getting back? WWE from my brother Optimum Cable Package from my parents including HBO, Showtime, YES, Fox Sports and the usuals... I am using an Apple TV hooked up to my regular TV and using a Verizon Fios connection. We share across our households.
  9. $1500 is definitely below market. If they are smart they will stay there awhile unless they are buying something on their own.
  10. Nothing... I can wait for it to come over Disney+ which I already subscribe to.
  11. @PeteFromPetesBasement Snooze you lose brutha ! This is why you sell off that certain book you have laying around so you could pick this up.
  12. A nice surprise I forgot I ordered these They came in three separate packages. Hey, it’s amazon’s money.
  13. You never know... I remember around almost ten years ago and people were decrying Miles Morales.
  14. My job in its infinite wisdom is still here. Each department is about 4-5 people so they divided us up in various areas. We don't see the other departments right now. Make believe I am Department "B" Over in Department "A" The wife of one of my coworkers works with someone who is a confirmed case. I voiced my concern about that. Now let's flash forward to today. Just learned that... out of the five people in his department three are home with fevers and coughs. One guy posted a pic of his thermometer at 102.2. But Buzz? What of the remaining two? They were sent to train us how to do something yesterday and go department to department. Voiced my concern over that last night and now this is our last day here for the next few weeks as we are shutting down to completely work from home. Now let's see what has been done. Most likely I've been directly exposed. I was at the chiropractor on Monday and Wednesday so I hope I just didn't bring something home to Nassau County from New York city. My parents are 75 and 71 (in July). I had to tell them and I don't even want them near my house for the next two weeks. I don't want them dropping off mail. I don't want them dropping off a meal. (Dad likes to BBQ 2/7) Also, I don't want to even drop off groceries unless they are wiping them down with something. My girlfriend works from her home. So there goes that. I have to tell her tonight. I have known her family for over 20 years and her father needs to keep up his strength. She travels from her house to his house only. Then there are the obvious concerns. Not very happy today. Just felt the need to vent anonymously. 3,755 days to go. The next two will be in isolation.
  15. Nah... I am going to wear whatever and not say a word or make mention of it even though it is obviously there. I encouraged others in my department to do the same. As of now, I think it is going to be Pirate Day for the first day. The sick part of me wants this to go to May though so I have an excuse to buy a Darth Vader helmet or something for Star Wars day...
  16. If it makes you feel better you can help me plan costumes and funny hats to wear in my video conferences every day for the next few weeks. BTW... does anyone have a Sgt Pepper costume that they don't need? Asking for a 'friend'.
  17. I am busy looking for cheap hats and costumes... If I am being forced to video conference each day, I want to look my best. I am thinking pirate hat and eye patch for the first day.
  18. Here is something to consider - people are buying up all the floor freezers around here. Regardless of how bad it is or how bad it isn't, that does not change the fact that people are hoarding food. It's about to become interesting I believe... (pic has been cropped as it showed my zip code.)
  19. I dunno... Didn't get that far into the conversation... I would assume that he does not think that casinos will be opening in LA where he is anytime soon. I will readily admit that my brother is very well read and very smart. He does believe that it will get worse and not better in the foreseeable future. Most of the brief conversations we have had have been in regards to making sure mom and dad stay at their house. To be sure not to come into much contact with them as I am still going back and forth to the city. The third thing is to try and entertain mom through facetime or something (which was hard to do this weekend for some reason) so they don't wind up killing each other.
  20. Oh, and to @the blob and the rest of NYC'ers... And those that work there... I drove in today... still took almost two hours to go in and I just got home now... took about an hour to come back home. Be prepared for a shelter in place order within the next 48hrs. https://www.cnbc.com/2020/03/17/new-yorkers-should-be-prepared-for-a-shelter-in-place-order-mayor-bill-de-blasio-says.html
  21. He does have a nest egg to last him for quite some time. However, he personally believes that there might not be any coming back from this. He supposedly asked his friend to see if they were hiring. It is a shame because at one point he was offered by his then girlfriend to do something with her law firm. However, since the September 11th attacks he has not wanted to do anything with or have much to do with the corporate world it seems.
  22. And the balance between the short term and the long term is the trick. My brother is basically 'done'. He is a professional poker player. He is not the "degenerate-take-your-paycheck-to-the-table-after-taking-your-watch-to-the-pawn-shop" player. With casinos closed and tournaments slowing to a standstill combined with the decline of the stock market, he is looking for something at the age of 42. He has made a pretty successful career for himself doing what he does since he was 23? 24?
