  1. WOW I wonder what this will do to GPA in all grades, also wonder what will happen when we gets some Doc announcements. Seems like an odd time to sell sure its wicked hot but with some announcements it might go Nuclear So you going to roll the dice and CPR looks like the top edge could be pressed
  2. Just bought a nice FF 45 from Gumiho easy transaction (thumbs u
  3. Doctor strange was another counter culture hero like the Hulk in the 60's he lived in Greenwich Village in the early 60s which was a mecca for music, hippie counter culture, and mind expanding drugs. Ditko's cosmic art was certainly psychedelic lsd trippy inspired as well as just flat out awesome. From wiki The stories showcased surrealistic mystical landscapes and increasingly vivid visuals that helped make the feature a favorite of college students. Comics historian Mike Benton wrote, "The Dr. Strange stories of the 1960s constructed a cohesive cosmology that would have thrilled any self-respecting theosophist. College students, minds freshly opened by psychedelic experiences and Eastern mysticism, read Ditko and Lee's Dr. Strange stories with the belief of a recent Hare Krishna convert. Meaning was everywhere, and readers analyzed the Dr. Strange stories for their relationship to Egyptian myths, Sumerian gods, and Jungian archetypes."[3] "People who read 'Doctor Strange' thought people at Marvel must be heads [i.e., drug users]," recalled then-associate editor and former Doctor Strange writer Roy Thomas in 1971, "because they had had similar experiences high on mushrooms. But … I don't use hallucinogens, nor do I think any artists do."[4] "Steve Ditko contributed some of his most surrealistic work to the comic book and gave it a disorienting, hallucinogenic quality. Dr. Strange's adventures take place in bizarre worlds and twisting dimensions that resembled Salvador Dalí paintings. Inspired by the pulp-fiction magicians of Stan Lee's childhood as well as by contemporary Beat culture, Dr. Strange remarkably predicted the youth counterculture's fascination with Eastern mysticism and psychedelia. Never among Marvel's more popular or accessible characters, Dr. Strange still found a niche among an audience seeking a challenging alternative to more conventional superhero fare
  4. Great choice if it is Phoenix he's a great actor, got the right look and he is certainly strange.
  5. Speaking of Doc does anyone know where that 9.8 copy of Doc 169 sold for $3600? Heritage?
  6. I get what you guys are saying but when is OW considered low PQ now if it was C/OW I hear what you are saying
  7. I think the book was due for a bump maybe not a grand. But with a Doc 169 9.8 in my stash I am happy
  8. I know for a fact that a 9.0 recently sold for $14k in a private sale. Right, I honestly don't see the next publicly available one going for less that 15k. -J. So you're saying the last recorded GPA sale of $6200 is slightly misleading? Of course it is 2013 sale since then a movie has all been confirmed The good doctor even mentioned in the Cap movie and a director is attched. I would snap up a St 110 9.0 at $6200 in a heart beat. 8.0 went for $6600. Anything less then 10k would be stealing IMO.
  9. The show may go 12 season but if it gets stale and people stop watching will they pull the plug earlier? And If it does go to season 12 will it absolutely cement this books place?
  10. Bought a Spidey 69 from Dan book has an amazing color strike. Easy deal all the way around, (thumbs u
  11. I would think new GPA high seeing the last 7.5 on GPA sold in 2013. I have a 7.5 copy as well I am hoping it goes off @ 5K
  12. If I could only remember where there is another sweet 7.0
  13. I agree with that to an extent, while they don't "need stars" they need a quality actors that can appear in multiple movies. So casting has to be dead on replacing a charactor now would not be good for continunity. As for Downey his star was in decline when they picked him up for all the reasons that made him a great choice for Tony Stark. Certain charactors beg for a Mega Star. Thor for example needed an unknown I just don't see how a known actor could have seriously pulled off Thor. It would have been actor X dressed as Thor
  14. Here's an idea definelty pull off the cool vibe and has an older look. Hollywood would never go with him however.

  21. I would still bet on st 110 imo it has only market corrected as it was way under valued. Big time star and director get attached another spike should happen. Plus marvel movies keep on getting better they couldknock it out of the park also huge crossover audience potential. But what do I know
  22. Hard to tell but some of the baseball cards look to be 70s into early 80s. It was'nt until late 80s things went nuts, I'd bet you did alright maybe you might find a decent gem or two that pay for the whole lot
