  1. I am predicting a higher percentage of at least one bullseye compared to the previous five rounds....I've been channeling the grading god all day.
  2. Is this something new....Alf with the number of spine tikes\creases pulls an 8.5?
  3. What in the Sam Hill did I miss making #200.....a 9.0? Particularly after the 9.4 New Mutants......
  4. I guessed an 8.5 and actually had second thoughts that it could be as low as a 7.5 or 8.0....
  5. Initially, I was thinking a 9.4 and then I saw all of the spine ticks and yet again my feelings are hurt due to spine ticks!
  6. Thanks for pinging (the poke) me....count me in if it isn't too late....
  7. I may be wrong given my limited experience with CGC and getting comics graded but I am thinking that the only advantage to "Express Drop Off" is avoiding the labor to pack up the books and the shipping expense to get the books to CGC\Florida at least in terms of 2 or 3 books. As I mentioned in the OP 2 weeks to get entered into the system and currently for at least 4 working days, maybe 5 my invoice for the books present as "Graded" with no grade listed. Admittedly, I have submitted books, maybe 5 times for grading, shipping them to CGC\Florida and within 3 or 4 working days of arrival they are entered into the system and I seem to recall once the invoice presents as "Graded" the books are graded. Is my experience an anomaly, is it just the volume CGC is working with at this point (start of CON season) or is it something else? Perhaps my experience is normal? Any perspective\input will be appreciated.
  8. I don't think so, the question is, once the CGC rep takes possession of your submission is it pretty standard that the submission takes two weeks to get entered into their system, hence starting the TAT clock.
  9. Perhaps my experience is an anomaly relative to others but I submitted two signature books at "Awesome Con" in DC on March 31, 2018, Con finished up on April 1, 2018, however the submissions presented in CGC's system today (April 16, 2018). I am guessing, common sense would dictate that the clock on TAT begins today. I am not complaining per se, just recognizing that I suppose I didn't expect the submission to take 2 weeks to be entered into the system. Does anyone know if the 2 week period is pretty standard or not for any express drop, signature book(s) or not?
  10. The only book I was looking to get and I got it, Thankfully.......
  11. Because Mylar will not react chemically with the plastic in the slab.....okay that probably isn't true...I'd go with Lizards2 explanation....
  12. Two upgrades for me.....particularly happy with the DD #12 as I've been looking for sometime.....
  13. Given the fact that the shipping is only $3.75 it might be worth the gamble......seriously, wouldn't that book have a market value of $50K +?
  14. Spider problem solved.... House centipedes are nocturnal hunters that roam through our homes at night searching for prey. They eat spiders, flies, silverfish, moths, roaches, termites, bees, and wasps. So many of our enemies are on thecentipede's menu, you would think we would welcome them. ... Thecentipede won.May 10, 2012
  15. This reply wasn't meant to be, however I can't figure out how to delete it.........
  16. Third Eye is a great LCS. As Mr. Henn mentioned they did start carrying back issues since the opened at their new location, however their back issue selection fairly limited but then again back issues are not their bread and butter. Everything beyond back issues is as good as it gets.
  17. When I first read your post, I was thinking of a different kind of 70's fuzzy, then I realized those black light posters in which the surface really was fuzzy. I was never a big fan of that kind of fuzzy.
  18. Yep, if my memory serves me, Spencer's Gifts in Cinderella City, Englewood, CO.
  19. Don't think so....I bought them as a kid back in 1971.....
  20. Clearly I am not a professional photographer....the angle was the only way at the to avoid the glare....I am pretty sure I bought these (Blk Lght) at Spencer's Gifts....Where I got the Cap, I can't remember...anybody remember it's origin?
  21. Albeit I almost never get packages via UPS, however UPS has left more than one package with me for my neighbor so I've seen enough UPS packages but ultimately I am most familiar with Fed Ex and USPS and without a doubt my experience is USPS presents more damaged boxes than Fed Ex and UPS. This was a long way around the barn to say I am in agreement with "BigHaley21" just above my response. Funny, yesterday I did get a package from UPS (first time in how long?, no clue) and the box was beat to hell.
