The Diamond Run isn't connected to Geppi and co. I don't think it's an official pedigree, although (like the DD Annual 1) there are a lot of killer books from it.
Official enough that CGC recognize it! Some very nice books are in it: the Diamond Run AF 15 is nicer than the WM copy.
Newfangled pedigrees.

Superb book. We don't see enough Spirit covers on these boards......

You gotta love the marketing on this. How can you go wrong with the "Crime Terror" genre???
Yeah! Talk about playing into Wertham's hands!
Fight Against Crime gets my vote for most exploitative, gory, pre -code crime / horror book of them all. Perfect grist indeed for the Wertham mill.

talk to comic collectors, become friends with the owners of your local comic stores.
Sadly not the easiest thing to do. Some of my LCS owners are sourest men ive ever met in my life. There are a couple though, so i end up avoiding the sour shops.
There are comic shops in Carlisle??

Just got a selection of comics of Goldust40. Brilliant service as anticipated and wonderful comics. That Darkchylde is definetly in my next CGC submission. I'll tell you how it goes.
I'll definetly be ordering from you again
Kudos right back atcha!!! Thanks for the lightning payment and praise!!!

Did you get my PM Goldy?
Yep! I'll organize info soon......

Here was a good one that started off nice enough, but turned into a "Big Nasty:
One of my lower points, for sure.
That was certainly out of character for you, it has to be said. Can't believe that thread was well over a year ago......

Major big - ups and thanks to Moondog100 for 3 very nice pre-code horror books, well packed, shipped, and as described - which is three out of three in my book. Excellent, friendly and fast customer service all round!! Tx, Gary!!
Also worthy of praise is Chrisco, for kindly shipping the books to me - amusing note on the package, Chris!! Thanks again!!

Both threads long since deleted:
Beyonder v. Comgeek, August 2004
Nochips v. Timely, Q4 2003 (?)
Is there a Forum Archivist in the house??

Can't remember the specific thread (it may be one that FD just linked) but it was when JC went on the rant of a lifetime, ending it by calling his detractors (and everyone else) "black - hearted dwarfs" .
I'm still laughing about that one.
Just checked - it was indeed the Gypsies, Tramps And Thieves thread that got bumped (so I ended up participating in it technically, even though it started before I arrived here). Hysterical.

Give me the same discounts that you want when you try to buy from blazingbob!yes?Of course.
Uh - oh. You've not been talking to his Bobness about my negotiating methods, have you?
Anyway, Blazing has learnt how to deal with me. What I want and what I get are two different things, dammit.
-
yes?
Of course.

I think we have to move on from the short shorts jokes. As long as Greg is not posting gremies, I think we should cut him some slack. Eh? (graemlin wiping forehead).
You mean I have to make nice to the gregster?
-
Damn lemony wannabe!
Well, at least that proves he reads some of my posts.......
-
Andrew, cease and desist or I expose your scam!
Better than your regular activity of exposing yourself.
Don't worry greg, I still like yer!!!
-
Kudos to greggy for another seamless transaction!
Just how he likes his short shorts, seamless.
-
That last cover is particularly atmospheric - must find a copy......

It's not all about the Bloody Royals you know........
Never used this graemlin before, but it's the only applicable one.......
-
I prefer to think of those "stuffy English ways", as the Rituals of Empire.
Rule Brittania!
Bah! Their ways are as dated as their obsession with those inane Royals. Viva La Revolucion!
-
Why do you keep them to yourself? I love hearing about the bargains people get on eBay. It helps me to keep searching and shrug off the bad deals I sometimes get.
Come to think of it, it's an English thing, at least a little. In the U.S., if someone does well, he (or she) generally gets a pat on the back (an attitude which I like) - other people's success is not despised like it is in the U.K. Over here, we're a bit more circumspect and cagey for that reason.....
Next time it happens I'll mention it on this very thread. And include links, natch....

DD #7 (20 bucks in vf- nootch!)
Now that is an unbelievable deal. Was this on ebay? Or your LCS? Amazing.
I would like to see a scan of it. Not everyday you find a minor SA key in nice shape for 1/15th of guide.
Hence the italics.
Maybe he fleeced an old lady. Hard to imagine a comic shop letting that go so cheap or it flying under the radar on eBay...but stranger things have happened.
or have they?
To be fair, with the volume of items on ebay, there's always going to be something that slips through the net, although this seems to occur far less often these days. And if it does on the odd occasion happen, I tend to keep it to myself.......
Still, that's the best deal I've heard of in a significant while.....

Russ, the Bethlehem pedigree is the easiest to identify due to the shop stamp on the back. It's not a top pedigree as the grades are variable but it's noteworthy and established..
And it's Bethlehem PA, not the one five miles south of Jerusalem.
