  1. You have 16k posts on the CGC boards, I feel like you have enough free time that you could learn astrophysics and build a star ship.
  2. It's been almost 15 years since Attack of the Show debuted on the G4 network. We've seen the rise and fall of a number of other comic book related news shows and/or talk shows (e.g., Talking Dead). Today, there are a number of YouTube content creators and podcasts that are getting a ton of attention. The Nerdist news network, Comicbookcast, amd Kevin Smith's Fatman on Batman are a couple of the many mainstream shows/outlets. Underground YouTubers like (Simpleman, Lords of the Longbox, JimComics, ComicTom101, JimComics, Reggie Simmons, Buhler, Unpressable Defects, Comic Corps, Tales from the Flipside, Nerdcore, etc.) are getting more and more popular by the day. Every week there are more content providers. In the last 30 days, I'm happy to see Mel V. and Gary Nusser start there own channels on Youtube. I am interested in what everyone is watching and/or not watching in the way of comic book related media and why. Who do you trust? Who don't you trust and why? What are you looking for and/or not looking for (e.g., speculation talk, educational information, reviews, etc.)? What direction do you see this kind of stuff taking into the future? I appreciate your input.
  3. Love the cover. The art is gorgeous. Not sure why people are being hyper critical of it on the boards. Like anything else, if you are looking for a reason not to like the art - you won't. The very nature of this thread "what's wrong with this cover" suggests that the purpose is to be critical of the cover. I suspect that the negative sentiment may have more to do with personal gripes about the seller (perhaps legitimate, perhaps not - none of my business either way) than it does the art, but I am reasonably certain that this book will have a ton of appeal on the secondary market when your average comic buyer get a look at it. my

  5. What year is the puzzle? Also, anyone have a copy of the poster?

  7. Remember me saying "Some people (not me) think he's the next "Moon Knight" his following is so fanatical." People love this dude. I got a guy at my LCS that is comparably diehard when it comes to Sentry. To that end, I say rock on! .

  11. Yes. He has a big following. Some people (not me) think he's the next "Moon Knight" his following is so fanatical. Also, the black cover is a nightmare. I don't think that black cover is a bad buy in 9.8 condition and wouldn't let people dissuade me from purchasing one in favor of the SDCC or the regular variant. Every few months there has been some Hulu, netflix, blah blah rumor/conjecture/speculation. I would try and target a time when people are not talking about this character (like you probably shouldn't have started a thread about Sentry) if I was trying to snag a copy during a price dip. If you just want a pretty NM copy, I see them generally cheap at conventions/shows and generally snag them when I do, but I wouldn't play the I'll buy raw and sub a 9.8 game with the black cover. If you want one of the other books, I would definitely consider buying raw and subbing it. My 2 cents.
  12. In an effort to help those who are new to the thread and actually came here to learn about Moderns that are heating up on eBay (outrageous concept, I know ...), here's a short list of some of the books (in no particular order): (1) Umbrella Academy (perhaps not the raging inferno of a couple weeks ago, but still hot books); (2) Immortal Hulk and related titles (maybe the King of the Mountain, don't forget about all the A-Bomb, Harpy, etc. books that people are buying up because they are selling); (3) new TV and Movie related spec e.g., Danger Girl, Tokyo Ghost, Agent Venom, Spider-man 2099, Spider-man Noir, etc.) (4) Cosmic Ghost Rider (this guy isn't going anywhere anytime soon); (5) Batman Who Laughs (we talked about the TT12 CGC 9.8 sale above); (6) Die (great read for those still reading comics and cross over appeal to D&D fans); (7) hot new releases: (Little Bird; Dark Red); (8) Naomi (9) Box Office Banger (Captain Marvel, Avengers and Shazam) (10) Future MCU spec (e.g., Young Avengers #1 and related books, Point One #1 (2011), etc.) There are countless others but I haven't put any real content on here in a minute and wanted to add to the dialogue. Happy Hunting you bunch of Savages!! Before anyone suggests that I am somehow inferring that any of these books are good buys - I'm not. This is basically a list of things that are already selling well or that I think will be selling well over the course of the next week or so.
  13. Are you suggesting this book is a "fake" and that they don't exist? This error was so common that Marvel actually made the books with this error returnable.
  14. Super excited to see this thread grow. There is so much more to the foreign market than modern books like the Superman & Batman #7 Dell'Otto cover and the Superman & Batman 4 Turner cover. The backstory surrounding the Gwen Stacy wedding issue is truly fascinating. I hope this thread takes off and I get to geek out on some information about these books. .
  15. BETTY AND ME #16 in the 6.5 F to 7.5 VF range Clearly the "beat off three guys" cover is far more risqué than Betty and Veronica 261 or 262. https://www.ebay.com/itm/223438109545 live auction begins at Mar 06, 2019 19:07:31 PST Needs Pressed, Cleaned & Slabbed if you are into that sort of thing. This book is rare in this condition. Please compare it to photos of graded copies online if you have any concerns about the condition.
  16. I often wonder what I am not buying today that is considered today's trash that is tomorrow's treasure. A lot of my problem is a refusal to not move product out the door too. I rarely have the patience to sit on books and sell them at or near a peak with the kind of discipline that I should. I think some of that is my fear of becoming a hoarder and some of it is my short attention span.
  17. In today's world, I am confident that you are correct. Every couple weeks or so I think about picking up some high grade original Solar & Magnus books just because they are so cheap. I know they have licensing issues, but don't remember what I read is exactly going on with them. I think unfortunately there are two groups of people when it comes to Valiant comics: (a) the people who passed on Hulk 181s to buy high grade Valiant keys in the 90s, sold those books for pennies on the dollar and hate Valiant comics as a result; and (b) the people who passed on Hulk 181s to buy Valiant keys in the 90s and still have those books and are waiting to get top dollar for them. I am afraid that there are very few people like yourself that have a reasonable view of the books. I've got a buddy Brandon who I think is an undercover Valiant homer who is sharp about Valiant comics too. I still have a soft spot for that original Harbinger run I read when I was 12-14 years old, but a lot of there best titles like Archer and Armstrong are still associated with people's trauma from the 90's crash. It will be interesting to see if they can overcome that as a publisher.
  18. I was thinking more about bad press, advertising dollars, etc. not trying to suggest that the movie not make it to the big screen. I appreciate that DMG is a huge corporation but the allegations seem to be interwoven with their film production. As far as products go, DMG made Looper. You won’t hear me complain. These days it’s hard to tell what’s real, what’s fake & (even when something is real) whether anyone will care.
  19. Anyone have any opinions about what this https://variety.com/2019/biz/asia/chris-fenton-dmg-lawsuit-1203149629/ will do to prices of Rai 0, the future of the Bloodshot movie, etc.?
