  1. Tomb of Dracula #10 VF/NM 1st Blade High Grade No Reserve NR https://www.ebay.com/itm/223409728316 Beautiful copy of key 1st appearance. The photos speak for themselves. Obviously this book needs dry cleaned and pressed. Purchased from original owner in recent acquisition. Great investment in the quintessential Vampire Hunter. This book is a blue chip that continues to rise without the need for Disney/MCU/Hulu TV or film announcement. It is only a matter of time before this book becomes un-affordable to most collectors in this condition. This particular copy is beautiful and untouched. Please bid accordingly. Thank you for your interest, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
  2. Eternals 1 30 Cent Price Variant NM High Grade No Reserve NR 1976 https://www.ebay.com/itm/223403734223 Beautiful high grade copy that is NM condition in my estimation, but you should make that evaluation based upon your own experience. Please judge for yourself the condition of this book and bid accordingly. The photos speak volumes to the high grade copy of this rare variant. Note tht the book is uncleaned and unpressed and was purchased from the original owner. I make no representations about what will or will not "press out" and/or can be removed by dry cleaning. A gorgeous copy for those who prefer there keys raw and incredible specimen for anyone who is looking to slab this puppy. This is a beautiful copy of a marvelous book. It pains me to release it to someone else, but I am to have enjoyed it for a period of time and look forward to sharing the joy of owning this iconic book with someone else. Please refer to the photos and make your own judgment about the condition of the book. The book is in the NM range in my estimation. I look at a ton of comics and I have not seen any raw copy of this particular book in this high grade condition. Thanks for your interest. Don't worry about shipping. I use painters tape, top loaders and ship in boxes with books sandwiched in cardboard and wrapped in bubble wrap. The book will be insured. I've been collecting for the better part of thirty years and I am happy to answer any questions you may have. Thank you for your taking a hard look at this auction. Good Luck!
  3. I think those are all quality. I just picked up a nice Boys #1s this weekend. I thought we would have reached super hero fatigue level by the time this show hit and that that people would love it. I don't know if that's actually going to happen or not, but I'm excited for it. I love Y the Last Man and I don't even have a copy of #1 for myself. those covers are gorgeous in the early books and I think the whole series can potentially take off because of the artwork. One may not have much room to grow, but I love the purchase of complete sets. That's something I've lost a couple auctions on this year (I hope to you, I won't feel as butthurt about my losses). Locke and Key is a book that is a personal favorite. I hope that it doesn't suffer from #1 variant fatigue like Deadly Class does. It was such a beautiful series. I am shocked you are getting complete sets of Invincible. That is awesome. I love that book. I think we may see some rare 2nd print variants or other books pop up out of that series when the show premiers. I have high hopes for it as well.
  4. They are absolutely better shows than the vast majority of all the Marvel and DC shows, I think they are every bit as good as Titans and Daredevil, BUT as you said - it's hard for non Marvel/DC books to get big, big spikes. As always, the Walking Dead is the counter factual example (the exception that proves the rule). Happy for example, sells for nothing and that show was AMAZING and it's getting a second season here in the next month or two (if my memory is correct). Not sure what's up with the prices on Deadly Class. They are so low, I'm waiting for them to bottom out before I start buying them for myself. Umbrella Academy has seen stronger sales this week for sure, but prices are still pretty cheap (particularly in light of the response to the first season which has been very good. I'm really interested in seeing where this goes. I am sitting on a bunch of Umbrella Academy books but I got in really cheap when everyone was poor mouthing the book (I did not get that lucky with Deadly Class, heck I haven't even read it, but I LOVE the show). I have a 9.9 of the 1:10 variant of #1 of Umbrella Academy up on eBay now and have go a lot of interest but offers are around the $350 not the $450 and I'm not in a hurry to sell since there is obviously going to be another season. All the rest of my copies of Umbrella Academy are raw and need pressed, cleaned and slabbed , and I doubt that I get around to doing that in any reasonable amount of time (probably going to wait until season 2) since I haven't already bothered to do that.
  5. I keep checking back every day to see if people finally quit arguing over print runs I'm excited to see someone talking about anything else. I think it's important for me to remember to measure uptick in sales and uptick in sales prices independently. Captain Marvel book for example have been strong sellers for me recently but the price tag isn't as strong on those books. I think that's an interesting phenomenon that we don't talk about much but is important for me to think about when I try and analyze ebay sales and the modern comic market generally.
  6. This is my last post regarding any of this but it appears that you are the one who has made this all very personal. For what reason, I don't know. There is no reason for you to feel like you need to qualify yourself to me or anyone else. I think you are smart about comics. An anecdote is really bad evidence. I think a better way to try and prove your point is to stick with the "no one knows the real numbers" angle, but I don't think there's any real disagreement about that. There is however no need to argue and disagree just to disagree. To suggest that I am somehow thin skinned because I am encouraging a higher level of discussion than "I'm right, you're wrong," "I'm smart, you're stupid," "you're motivated by self interest, I'm self-less" is kind of ridiculous. Again, I would encourage you to approach conversations looking for a win-win. To see the CGC boards or the comic business generally as a zero-sum game where "others have to lose so that I can win" is really antithetical to the hobby as a whole. In other words, I believe that vast majority of the people who participate in the CGC boards are looking to improve their understanding of collecting and the hobby and to share their knowledge and passion for the hobby with others. It's really that simple.
  7. Dude, you are basically just repeating what I said at this point. They weren't kidding about me wasting my breath. You should think about meditation or yoga. In reference to your ad hoc example of "this one time I bought 50 copies of a ratio variant", that is not demonstrative evidence and I'm not really trying to go into explaining why. Suffice to say, I would encourage you to try and approach conversations from a place where you are looking to improve your understanding an/or help someone else better understand and let go of the need to be right.
  8. I don't follow your logic for the ratio numbers are order numbers and have nothing to do with anything else. I think it's reasonable to assume that "large quantities of 1:x variats released later in time" are the overage from diamond not distributing books that were printed to non-qualifying stores not that there is some secret stash of books that diamond gets from Marvel (or in rare circumstances DC). It's important to remember as a friend reminded me (which may not be well understood) that the comicchron numbers are based upon diamond's voluntary disclose of the guaranteed allocation made pre- final order cutoff and do not include damage replacements (they print extra for that), re-orders, etc. I also recall that at least at one time they were domestic numbers only, but I would have to look at that to be certain. Nevertheless, they are the best tool we have.
  9. I think the comicchron numbers are as good of an indicator as we have and that direct market US sales are pretty damn close. I always divide by ratio b/c I assume that is actually how many of the variants get produced not the lesser number of x many stores qualified by ordering that many copies. I think the more interesting inquiry is does anyone have another method or source that they rely upon that they are willing to share?
  10. While rarity (how few of something), doesn't automatically equal scarcity (rarity < desirability), the comparable rarity of a generally desirable cameo appearance (e..g, 1st Darkseid, CM 17 2nd print) generally means that this book is more desirable than the first full appearance. So it is surprising that 684 is selling better than the 682 2nd print and the even more rare 682 1:25 variant.
  11. You're right I'm just starving for attention on the CGC boards.
  12. comicchron. I said that. You can look too. I don't have time to right now. http://www.comichron.com/
  13. There's 2k copies of the 682 1:25, 4k copies of the 682 2nd print and about 50K copies of the regular covers of 684 if my memory is correct. I looked those numbers up on comicchron a while back
  14. I'm more interested in why people don't like the #682 1:25 or the #682 2nd print. Both are substantially more rare than #684. I get that some people don't like the 682 2nd print because it uses interior art, but it came out the same week as 684 and I assumed that the relative rarity of the #682s would make them the more desirable book. That being said, it is clear that market prefers Immortal Hulk #2.
