  1. So "meeting Fra' Luca Pacioli" is unlikely to be on a bucket list, as it’s likely to be after rather than before…
  2. Wow! There is to say *if they sell*, however. I still regret not buying the 1:40 variant for #1. I like the 1:20 variant of #3, so I am undecided if to sell it or not…
  3. It is moving well because it was talked about on that site. Lemmings. If Wizard only had a website in the 90s they would have been able to invent hot books so much quicker. On a side note, are the Divinity variants 1:30 and 1:40 still sought after? I could sell my #3…
  4. That's just revolting! Says the guy with the Nova logo... Well, Nova wasn’t a licensed toy, but I have never read ROM or Micronauts so I can’t comment.
  5. I’m very glad to hear your health conditions are improving, and allowing you to post. Even if we haven’t got acquainted, your collection shows a lot of love for the comic book history, and of course this thread has become a "tea house" for those who know better… Thank God and glad for your family!
  6. Some of these are just great, with all these custom covers.
  7. I have an original art page from a Dr. Strange issue of Nebres (with Clea) and I just love his work… I totally love it, I’m sure it would help to post some art to remember people how awesome he is.
  8. No problem but I wonder why you are selling through him and not just doing it yourself? Because then I don't have to deal with the eBay riff raff. What about this? I know you love me, but really, what is this question about? Roy has a site, but who knows about it? A limited number of people, and mostly from english speaking countries, I would venture. A venue like eBay.com gives you a global exposure today, and I found your question very unusual, that’s all.
  9. I am still waiting to read them (I have never had all three until recently) – and there is Nixon too!
  10. No, he just said #129 is her first apperance. Let’s not tickle the speculators on each and every possible "first app" book, although I believe our little loving community of Fantastic Four lovers is a "safe haven" from the wild wind outside…
  11. Yes, MCS is also selling on eBay, and this obviously gives them even more visibility. In fact I believe I became aware of them first thanks to eBay, when I was at the early stages of my discovery of the Golden Age comic books.
  12. Now that you have reached post #47473 your post count is now officially unimportant…
  13. It’s not necessarily each 25 years, IMO – and cycles are not the only factor determining these things…
  14. I just received my first purchase from Randall – I already know how a good guy he is, but now I also know his wife packs comics very well, so a USPS box can survive a transoceanic trip!
  15. No one can predict the future, as the future does not exist, but one thing goes for sure: what Steve Gerber did – and not only with Howard – will last (not necessarily monetarily), most what Marvel is doing now… I doubt. These Gwen-monstrosities have the taste of Taxidermy…
  16. Honestly but some of these questions are really absurd… Logan, did you seriously think for a minute that each and every selling venue gets the same exposure and works for all kind of sales? Obviously Roy and Chip find a satisfactory way to sell or consign on eBay, which reaches an audience that is – if nothing other – wider than most audiences you would obtain with websites. Not even popular ones like MyComicshop, Metropolis or Worldwide can match the visibility you can have on eBay. On certain things, it’s just the more appropriate. I know David's question was not implying anything because he’s a good guy but sometimes you feel like you are within some dystopian XX novel, here.
  17. That’s the point – the adjustment in my opinion takes place in the issues between 102 and 125 or so… After that, things "kick back into high gear" (is that the way to say this in english? ). The first apperance of Thundra is a big key to me, because I love her, and Tigra, and the Impossible Man… As KirbyJack said for his ones, these were the first stories I have read, when I was 9-10 years old, and surely I do not love them just thanks to nostalgia (I rarely do), but because they are great stories, as I have been able to see re-reading them. I still remember that final panel where the Frightful Four are waiting for the FF within their headquarters, and take them captives in the Baxter Building. Roy Thomas at its finest.
  18. Well, #150 is the marriage of Crystal and Quicksilver – not a key but an important story, before they messed up with the characters (mostly Quicksilver). Also, the Luke Cage issues are nice for a Cage fan, and the issues in the #170-180 range are all (or most) top, top stories. You gotta love Thundra, Tigra and the Impossible Man becoming occasional characters in the cast, especially in the very dramatic storyline where the Brute… (I will not spoil this).
  19. That's what they used to say about Bucky... I wished to read the whole story arc before commenting, but if you thing that all the personal vicissitude, and inner struggle of Cap, for years, had been circling around that fact, it was not only disrespectful to readers, but also bad storytelling, and a lot more. To me, it’s no surprise that now they don’t precisely know to do with the Winter Soldier, to the point the new story lines are something fantastic, detached from reality and settled in a far distant place and time, if I have interpreted correctly when browsing the new series.
  20. Personally, I familiarized myself with the great stuff in comic books from the Golden Age by subscribing to the DCM (Digital Comics Museum) and downloading a sample of the various titles. Of course, this goes for material which is not still copyrighted, but aside from Timely and DCs you have a great overall view before you decide to start bvuying.
  21. May I ask why you posted the same gremlin in about 20 threads and counting, in a matter of minutes? I hope it's not contagious. Temper tantrum apparently I was just thinking he's a . -slym (and in the actual meaning of the emoticon). P.S. What is "temper tantrum"?
