  1. Seriously..WTF is that????It's borderline creepy Pif Gadget has been one of the most important french antologic comic magazines: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pif_gadget I have a friend which worked for them in the 1990s. One of our top Disney artists, Giorgio Cavazzano, also worked for the magazine:
  2. That is correct sir. They also made a poster of it and used it as the variant cover for the FF Omnibus. Sadly it doesn't reprint FF #1 it reprints FF #10. Well, it’s equally cool. Consider that in Italy we never had a FF#1 edition with the right cover. Or better, there was one a few years ago, sold in bundle with a TPB, but it used the "Fantastic Four" logo instead of "Fantastici Quattro", so it looks like the american one.
  3. I saw this and it’s gorgeous: Do you know which original cover is used in this german edition?
  4. Don’t know about the two variants but this one is pretty common as most issues are, I can offer it for about $5. I picked a copy of this and the silver (platinum) variant because they were nice copies while I was looking for modern italian Spideys for Racetrack (Anfield). He picked the platinum but I know little about their original print runs. Information about the issue can be found here: http://www.ragnoman.com/Html_SM_Marvelitalia/SM500.html
  5. This one is the italian Spidey #500, regular edition (there are two variants which have metallic silver and blue ink instead of gold). It uses the cover of the Amazing Spider-Man Extra one shot and it’s from 2008 as well (by 2008 the title name changed to "Spider-Man" in english instead of "Uomo Ragno"):
  6. Yes, I asked because they are pretty much the UK equivalents of the US ones. Nice Ghosts…
  7. I did not know you collected the british price variants as well, Tim.
  8. It’s also one of my favorites (among the others FF #65-67 and #36) but I’ll never be able to "upgrade" it as it’s the one I have signed by Jack.
  9. Ghostbusters had been the second movie I have seen "alone" (without my parents accompanying me). And the first one I actually liked. The first had been Rocky IV… That toy box is very nice, I imagine you must have been thrilled to find it…
  10. It never is, when Bedrock is involved…
  11. This is really cool, I did not notice it: It’s so… "Bollywood", and the dedication makes it even more so. (Not that now Hollywood is all good, heh? )
  12. I did not make the connection either: true, in those early italian Spideys the publisher (Corno) made the confusing move (to the italian reader) to pubish the great Thomas/Colan Dr. Strange stories of almost a decade later (italian Marvels started in the early 1970s). Now I’d love to have that issue with the signatures… (Are the signatures done in a Signature Series on the book or on the case: I hope on the book!)
  13. Hi Tim! What does this one reprint? Amazing Spider-Man #22, see here: http://atomik67.altervista.org/COMICS-EDITORI/CORNO/UR-DOCUMENTI/UR_Crono2.htm
  14. If you need the italian one for this, Tim, it’s easier to find than the #7: (thumbs u Also, if someone is looking for this I have a copy which I was going to list in my next sales thread (this book is not the italian edition of AF #15, however, it just uses the cover as it had not been used previously):
  15. Thanks Buddy, in fact all the praise goes to you for the understanding…
  16. I bought a few high grade Fantastic Four and some Tales of Suspense from Buddy in his recent SA/BA sales thread and the books were very nicely priced and accurately graded. He also worked to help me slash postage costs as much as possible, and since the box took a while to get in Italy he shared my worries and was even willing to contribute with some refund in case they got lost. Many thanks pal, deal with him with confidence, you won’t be disappointed! (thumbs u
  17. They’re breathtaking, October. And so is that Zip Comics #9…
  18. It does not say it sold (at that price), it just says the listing "has ended".
  19. But if we do not consider "artificially induced rarity" (due to a deliberate very limited print run) which 1990s books could be considered actually "rare"? I think none, except things which began as limited print run ventures which eventually turned commercially succesful.
  20. edgerx is offering three early issues of WDC&S in the marketplace…
  21. The girl is also not very Schomburg, as Schomburg was gorgeous but more "restrained" in the overall layout of the human figure (and this is what makes his painting pieces great, IMO). That monster is also pretty un-Schomburg.
  22. Not so much, as they appear to be just small stamps. I guess they treated them as they’d have treated any other kind of stamp, as it wasn’t an attempt to "fake" the book cover.
  23. That Hyper Mystery looks gorgeous, Cimm. Never saw it before, I have got to check if it‘s at the DCM. And… who cares about tape? I have doubts about Schomburg as well on that cover, Jim, it does not seem his "halftone" painting style…
  24. Glad they arrived safely. That Brave and the Bold is a first edition, and these italian Batmans are hard in grade… (thumbs u @Liam: Is that X-Men a canadian edition? If so, that is cool! (And maybe it even publishes BOTH #120 AND #121?)
  25. @Timely: I love that Joe Palooka #2, it’s one of the Hitler-related covers I appreciated more when I first saw it… (thumbs u
