  1. Now I was just browsing my (incomplete) collection of Shang-Chi, which I have never read, and since I knew at some point Iron Fist ("Pugno d’Acciaio" in Italian) was published as a backup feature I thought… «Wait a minute and if…» and… Yes! I do have the first appearance of Sabretooth, that’s in issue #49 (one of the more scarce, as the italian Shang-Chi ended at issue #54, then there is a pretty rare 5 issues mini-series). Black and white, those were magazine-sized, the same as the Eternals, Corriere della Paura (antology of Marvel horror titles) and Dracula:
  2. P.S. Why CGC insists in writing "Marvel Comics", which is not clearly the publisher, in the foreign editions. It should have read "La Prensa, 9/62", with details in the label notes (i.e. "Mexican edition of Fantastic Four #1").
  3. May 18… Then that was the reason for the delay. Tim = awesome. Totally love the "Excelsior!"
  4. He’s also an awesomely experienced UK collector for his age… A great welcome addition here! (thumbs u
  5. Matt (admiralbram) donated the amount for the italian AF #15 and the italian ASM #129 reader in the tornado thread…
  6. I had to check an online dictionary. Hey, is "schlocky" some kind of slang term? Anyway, early Spider-Womens stories are not "schlocky" – some are less brilliant than others, some are plain weird (the Needle, Gipsy Moth), but some have lots of substance. If you keep insisting, you’ll have to give me your spare Marvel Spotlight #32…
  7. Have no fear vaillant, I'l reply to your query about Bomber Comics. There are: -7 copies of #4 in the census -5 copies of #3 -5 copies of #2 -11 copies of #1 So #4 doesn't appear to be more rare, but it is a pretty cool cover - one that people probably hang on to - so it may be tougher to pick up. Thanks Jimbo! (thumbs u Hey Twistty. my question was just a few posts before!
  8. They're both kind of junky, though I like them both. Ms Marvel, when Claremont took over was a really good read IMHO. Not Spider-Woman, at least up to the end of Gruenwald’s tenure… And right on the Ms. Marvel.
  9. In general, I think that Ms. Marvel is an important character. I did not think much about there when I landed here less than 2 years ago, as I was into golden age, but as I picked up silver age once again I realized that, besides the good stories Claremont wrote in the title, Carol Danvers continued to appear in X-Men, becoming Binary. Her tenure as an Avenger in the 1970s and 1980s also contributed to her popularity, and right now she has taken the mantle of "Captain Marvel", although I don’t appreciate what Marvel is doing, so she’s probably as much popular as Spider-Woman, maybe more, for similar reasons. Now for some break – find me the issues I miss above issue #20, whetteon, or we’ll run once again in a loophole discussion of late copper vs. early bronze!
  10. I did not buy anything from Randall, but I have got to express my gratitude as he willingly stepped out of a deal to let me have a silver age book I particularly cared about, and at a great price. An outstanding fellow collector! (thumbs u
  11. Probably my favorite Marvel bronze series ever. Steve Gerber in state of grace (thumbs u Those look awesome, I’m (positively) envious as mine are not all so nice. I really should upgrade them! If you love Omega, you could try Hard Time, a 2004-2006 Vertigo series by Steve Gerber and Mary Skrenes (the original Omega writers) which in some way shares some of Omega’s themes in a pretty crude modern environment (the series starts with the 16 years old leading character sentenced to 60 years in prison). Not really comparable, but Gerber was always ahead of most other writers.
  12. The westerns are awesome: do they reprint older stories, or do they have new material in them? I like the Romita inked covers, but for some reason I find Kane "weaker" when inked by Romita. Romita has a strong personality, and so it somehow influences too much Kane’s pencils.
  13. That’s a Pence UK edition, just for the sake of precision.
  14. Is Bomber #4 scarcer than the previous ones? I was mostly interested in #2, but just curious… P.S. Thanks Marty for adding me as a "friend" on Flickr. (thumbs u
  15. Maybe you meant that’s the largest size you were able to post, because that appears like a scan, and of course it must be at least 72ppi, i.e. the same size of the comic, with screen resolution. EDIT: You made a HUGE original scan, Marty. I found your profile with a Flickr search. The trick is just to post the size you want from all those available, which are shown here. P.S. I marked you as a friend.
  16. This looks interesting, Marty. Are you able to post a larger scan? (haven’t checked if there is one around the web, but just in case…)
  17. I thought more than a time about buying one but as it always happens with Annuals I consantly forgot… Now there are these movie hypes that reminds you of such things at the worst possible time…
  18. Super-Villain Team Up #7 (and the following ones…)
  19. I got really lucky on those, but yeah, the prices are insane. Well, if you see a good priced pair, give me a whistle! (thumbs u
  20. I don’t care at all about the movie but would love to find a good priced #141-142.
  21. Actually, the word removal is automated. You can see the original words by quoting the sentence.
