  1. The Sega CD version of Mortal Kombat, Battle Arena Toshinden, and Lords of Thunder! Next time you are at a convention browse the cheap Sega CD games for great music. Due to how they were created you can just slide them into any CD player and listen to the track list.
  2. Obviously there is no "correct" answer as it is not only based off opinion but the age of the collector as many lived through multiple "ages" of comics. My opinion is pretty much heresy but here it is: Platinum: Pre-1938 Gold: 1938-1959 Silver: 1960-1969 Bronze: 1970-1985 Copper: 1986-1999 Modern: 2000-Current
  3. As a cardinals fan that Arenado is awesome! I wouldn't send these to CGC though; the market just hasn't really accepted them yet and any value would be slightly diminished. I would sleeve these and take them to next card show that PSA/Beckett/SGC is at to hash out specific notations (which is where I hope CGC will outshine them after grading the miscut mantle).
  4. There are also another options here: They are not submitting them today; they will bulk submit sometime this quarter. The November date is an estimate to cover for pre-screen, the current 20 business day TAT, 10 additional days for weekends/holidays, shipping both ways, and any additional changes in TAT or when the books are shipped to CGC. They are not currently interested in (or able to satisfy) additional early number business (guaranteeing your 9.8 sub), but will still offer the option if you are agreeable to the wait.
  5. It isn't terrible and is more hype than solid story so far, but I am not the target audience. Objectively it is on par with current Marvel and DC offerings. My only real complaints are the dialog could use some editorial polish and the absolutely insane twitter people (on both sides) if they find out you backed/read it. Given the replies I doubt commenters will be happy with most of the news sources. Bleeding Cool Bounding into Comics Fox News New York Post Sportskeeda Comical Opinions (Issue #1 Review) There are tons more stories about the successful kick-starter, launch, and fulfillment of ISOM (Rippaverse) from both sides of the aisle.
  6. I would like to continue poorly grading pictures of funny books and bring down the average accuracy of the group.
  7. As stated above it looks like the ten cent pre-authorization is from my credit union and not CGC. That is pretty weird and completely unexpected, for the record I do believe these are "removed" as I have not found one that actually charged. After speaking with Mike, just for reference here is the actual view from their side. The pre-authorization were made but 0.00 was charged on their end.
  8. As was explained to me by my credit union in areas of potential fraud the person will "test" the card by placing a very small hold charge to see if the card is both active and can be used. Once this occurs and is positive it can mean they have both your CC details and pin (then it is off to the spending races). The representative I spoke with explained it using the key logger technology often found on gas station pumps which get everything you input and will often not be used until weeks later so you have no idea where the breach came from. I am regurgitating this info from a very helpful rep that was speaking with me at the time, I am not an expert on this. Edit: I think I may have miss understood your statement and replied incorrectly... but the info is still valid I guess.. lol.
  9. Edit the picture to put a black box over the PGX label. Also the signature is not what is going to hurt this book the trimmed edges are. This would be a good candidate for a different option though. Leave the book raw (keep the labels) and have JSA issue an authentication letter. You can keep the book in an archival mylar for show without the resto being front and center and it will be authenticated by a trusted third party.
  10. There are other options for unverified signatures that have a better seller outcome. IMO you should very rarely send a non-witnessed signature to be graded.
  11. I do believe it is eventually reversed (either by invoice cycle or eventually canceled); I would need to go through a couple different accounts I have used to double check though (it is small enough that I never really payed previous attention to it). This was more me being snarky about the banking issue it caused.
  12. I am but a simple man and the internet and computers are scary things so CGC has a much better understanding of this than one such as I. But if I could bring into question the following: When you complete an online submission form you do not have the option leaving out a payment method. Either you supply a Credit/Debit number or a check or you cannot move forward with the process of creating a submission. Regardless of a card being on file a payment type is mandatory: When you complete this form so you can print it out it gives you the familiar tracking line items as seen below: Since the previous credit card was mandatory it also pre-authorizes your card by creating a debt hold of 0.10 in your financial account for every invoice created: This pre-authorization hold can last a week or up to three months; I do not know the how/when CGC chooses to remove it outside of the invoice moving to the billing cycle or someone in accounting closing invoices after a certain date. Both of the above transactions were created last night. In fairness I may have miss spoke about being fully charged for 0.10 cents, but when I create an invoice it sends a pending charge for each and every one! After the original indecent mentioned I had to white list (trusted source) CGC to my credit union so they would not lock my account for repeated pre-authorizations since they do look like the first step in scam transactions to see if a card will process.
  13. They do charge $0.10 per invoice created. I was goofing around a couple months ago and got a call from my bank about 11 separate charges for ten cents each. They were concerned it was a potential access test of a stolen card.
  14. Three people have beaten me for the last spot... I probably should not be allowed to even look at books..
  15. I don't have any cool pictures to show but how about something that isn't modern or x-men related? I would love to see a limited run of Millie the Model, Blonde Phantom, Teen Romance, or maybe take the cover of Showgirls #1 as a compromise. I would really like to see more non-marvel options.
  16. The entire "wizard authentic" BS was fought in the registry forum some years ago when I was trying to get them completely removed from the X-Men set. Eventually it was settled that they would stay in the set but would not count for points which is still terrible. Given what happened last year with the Black Flag Ultimate Fallout books, CGC only has a problem with "aftermarket" add-ons when the money isn't going in their pocket.
  17. I have submitted grades... not good grades, or ones that match what is presented, but they are technically grades. Which is the best kind of grades!
  18. Lot them up and offer them at discounts, there are people who do buy drek (I am one of them). You can sort by titles, or for lower end stuff by company (Malibu, Defiant, etc). You can fit about 50 books in a medium flat rate box and you should have some victims interested at around $40 shipped ($25 for the comics, $15 for shipping). Once you sell out of what people are willing to over pay for, then discount to $75 a long box for local pickup only.
  19. I had to pull a couple boxes as I had misplaced a book (as one does) and found these..
  20. You can do what you feel would be most valuable to you... but it's Psi force. I guess you could pair with your spitfire or starbrand for maximum new universe goodness
  21. I received a phone call over lunch yesterday about "what ever you ordered was to heavy and I am not moving it...it also better not be expensive" box that was delivered on the porch. 62 pounds later! I drug it into the game room to go through after work and explaining that this was like totally a present from some internet stranger named @HighRadArt..... really you have to believe me Inside contained six 10lb medium boxes stuffed with the most glorious mid-80's to early 00's drek you could have ever hoped for. I spent a good portion of last night skimming through early Image, Caliber, Eclipse, Teckno, Lair, Antarctic, Lightning, PC, Jademan, Top Cow, and so many other companies. Then one final box contained the money shot. A nice silver age Green Lantern run, Spider-man, Batman, Sub-Mariner, and Fantastic Four books.... oh and an Iron Fist #1. I love mystery boxes from boardies because when asked for a theme or what I like I can reply with the following and be perfectly happy with anything received: Which is the main reason i'm always looking for what most consider "Drek". I spoilered the pictures below so open at your own risk STACKS OF BOOKS: Drek of the best; your 90's relived #1: Drek of the best; your 90's-00's relived #2: Full run of Nowhere Men (a great series) and some guy with metal fists: Spider-Bat Fantastic Submarine Guy: Green Light Hal: In addition to all of this there is a near complete run of Wildcats 3.0, runs of 90's Captain America, Kilroy, Alpha Flight, high # Valiant Solar run, and just to much to name. Even now I am finding new stuff since I didn't notice until I took the pictures that the Fantastic Four on top of the pile is signed by McKone! I am always in awe with the complete generosity of board members but this is even to much for me so I will believe what I replied to highradart with as how this all came about:
  22. I would blanket say at least 5% of the entire census is invalid; CGC themselves also are poor stewards of removing labels. Back when I did a lot of signature submissions I would send batches of blue labels in twice a year that show up as part of the census to this day. A more recent example the Jim Shooter signed from last year, the books I sent in under my account were removed from the census, but all four of the books I sent in under another account (after being pressed) are still in the census (the labels were included with the paperwork. PSA has this same problem and is the result largely out of their control; overall the census is a gimmick to show off and should be treated as such.
  23. CGC does not offer any non-witnessed authentication of any kind. Even when witnessed they do not offer that authentication without a mandatory grading service. Their is another company that will authenticate art and signatures through Beckett (TPA) and you will not be forced to grade the comic it will come with an "ART" designation instead of the grade. CGC gets supper butthurt about mentioning the name. Just google CGC alternative comic book certification companies.
