  1. Google Docs is free and you can just use the simple format of Name, #, and grade. you can further categorize them by company in different tabs with an extra tab for oddities. Given the books you have listed so far, it may not be worth the time though if you collection is as vast as you believe. You might want to do a once through to pull out the highest value books then sell the rest as a lot to the highest non-consignment offer.
  2. My last name is public knowledge as I am technically a public figure by proxy of some of the work I do. I stand fully behind any statements I have posted in this thread. Should you feel slighted by my opinion of your reprehensible behavior and fraud-like actions you are more than welcome to have your attorney (who can very easily attain my full name and address) file any appropriate paperwork and forward them to my retained counsel. Though I do hope you use your own money to do so and not what may be left of that from your victims. I am glad that you have dropped the facade though and people see the real you. I would also recommend some therapy.
  3. This has to be done at this point to protect the customers victims. Filling the complaint is just a procedure and will be used to set standing, the next step will be to set forth a civil case with the main goal of seeing all books returned to their owners. Everyone is aware that the money is gone but once a judgement is given you can then use that to file property liens, jockey a higher position on the creditor list, and all around make sure this will be public information and follow him so that he cannot scam more people in the future.
  4. I am actually a fan of the new label since it brings it more inline with the industry, the "comic" label looked more amateur and cartoon like. All of this is moot at the moment since the cards are bringing less in open auction currently. This will need to change, but we will see how it all plays out. Not having a pre-screen option is also hurting them and the last reason why I have not submitted anything to them.
  5. CGC doesn't like mentioning competition but you should check out services by Beckett who is a third party authentication service that encapsulates many sport and non-sport collectibles.
  6. He shouldn't be, he no longer has a valid business as he filed for dissolution.
  7. They get the green label or blue with a significant grade drop. If you want them slabbed and authenticated there is an alternative.
  8. Given the number of books CGC has "misplaced" in recent threads, the year it takes to "find" them, and customer services treatment of their owner.... unfortunately yes.
  9. It depends if the poster is attached or not. If the comic is in a polybag and the poster (or any item) is included loose, you will likely never see them again. CGC generally will not return anything with your submitted comic as they do not grade those items (posters/cards have a different grading submission and cost). If the comic has the poster attached like a center fold, the comic will be graded as normal and encapsulated. In short do not send CGC anything you actually want returned.
  10. Alright this is becoming very shady in business practices and I would appreciate an answer! Even through I was told by customer services that some of the X-Men (1991) books would be eligible for the Savannah pedigree designation (the rest up to the graders) they were all returned without it and no one will answer me as to why. Now Doug Schmell just had a large number of very non-key common Marvel books graded from the Winnipeg pedigree some deep into the 90's with the help of CGC. When I called in to CS over the phone I was told someone would return my call, this was a lie. I have not received an email reply asking why these books were not given the pedigree. I was ready to let this go as lesson never to trust CGC but this is just ridiculous and leads me to believe that the sole reason was that I didn't give CGC enough business to be blessed with grace of the graders. This own thread proves just how little CS cares about their previous statements or willingness to provide answers as it has been ignored since June 25th.
  11. Do you have pictures of the books prior to sending them in? I am always curious if CGC has actually "found" the books or replaced them.
  12. As the title states; this is the last of my original RPG art. There are no "big" pieces but still some really nice examples and most going for less than $20. World of Darkness OA (Mage, Vampire, Exalted, Hunter, Werewolf) D&D Original Art (Wayne England, Tony Diterlizzi, Tommy Castillo) DragonLance: The Legend of Huma D&D OA Shadowrun 1E Core rulebook OA by Joel Biske Traveller OA (Full page splash)
  13. The Perfect Storm; i'm just going to throw it in with my next auction submissions to comiclink and give them the $5. It was for charity so i'm am not put out about it. It just really struck me as concerning given the actual previous "sales" history recorded as I had been entertaining the idea of buying some of the graded X-Men cartoons but will not be doing so.
  14. I absolutely believe VHS grading is a scam. Through a local charity auction I purchased a number of mystery boxes, one of which had a graded VHS through a non-CGC company. The closest on ebay was for 1k so I put it up for 600 with all offers open. After 60 days I received 0 offers of any type and no interest when I offered it to watchers for $100.
  15. Awesome! I only asked due to the "limited edition" "COA" sticker on the front. IIRC I had a Nightstalkers that came with a sketch card from QVC (or HSN or one of thsoe 90's late night shopping channels) those are pretty cool though, nice find.
  16. weird question but do these have a QVC sticker on the back upper left corner?
  17. Here is what it will look like: Only you can determine if the cost is worth it, you made it a point to explain how you have left it in the bag and board. You may want to temper your expectations for a high grade though. I do not see a point in having CGC grade it. If you want the signature authenticated there are other guys across the street that will do it and grade it.
  18. Comiclink will be continuing their D&D/RPG auctions going forward. The consignment director who handles my account confirmed they believe a dedicated (non-Ebay) game auction space is needed and currently lacking in the market. Personally I think the first couple of these auctions will be mid to underwhelming until enough word gets out to garner continued interest. I will probably off load a number of cheap books to test the waters. I think Atari doesn't get the love it deserves due to it's own limitations and missing brand identity. Atari doesn't have a recognizable mascot to rally a collective memory from and their games were also in arcades which is how the larger population played them, not to mention the same games where across a number of platforms like CalecoVision or Intellivision. What hurts the brand worse is that it's image and name have been sold multiple times and run into ground. Atari is fond talking point but Nintendo through marketing sold a generation a collective memory.
  19. I used to have a pretty massive collection of RPG art, it was and still is to a lesser extent pretty cheap compared to comic art. In the final years of Lorraine's management TSR was selling anything not bolted down (and what was bolted down if you could move it). A vault of in house 1E & 2E original art was sold for pennies on the dollar. Over the years of trimming down my overall collection most of it was sold privately, the rest was auctioned off at Origins and GenCon. The last of it is currently up for auction, only a couple low end D&D pieces but a number of Leif Jones White Wolf art from late 90's early 00's which do not seem to attract a lot of attention.
  20. have you tried here: https://keenspotshop.com/collections/rob-potchak Keenspot does what image used to (only on a micro level) and "publish" your completed work. They mainly focus on webcomics but look to also sell hard copies, it looks like they will be at SDCC as a vendor so they have some steady income from an outside perspective. As for value, probably none outside of intrinsic likeability of the people selling it.
  21. It very much depends on what you are wanting to do with it. If you submit it to CGC for grading it will receive a green label for witnessed signatures/sketches or a blue label and a reduced grade for "writing on cover". In both instances CGC will not authenticate the signatures. If this result is worth the cost to you, then by all means. If not then you have your answer. If you want it slabbed and the signatures authenticated by beckett there are "alternatives"... EDIT! I completely forgot that TMNT is a magazine and treated differently than a comic, take everything I said with a grain of salt as I just read in another thread that the unwitnessed sig will be noted on the cover but not get a green label or by all appearances a grade hit. Someone with more familiarity should come along with a better explanation.
  22. So I am to assume from the resounding silence that CS is hoping this just goes away despite what was previously stated? understood.
  23. Last month I received back a 15 book submission with grader notes consistent with mishandling: Light bends to cover "Stacking" bends Scuffing to cover These were all pressed, cleaned, and non-CGC prescreened. In a turn i've never seen every book 9.6/9.4 had multiple grader notes. At this point in time "something" is going on either at the grader level or an employee that is handling books for the grading process, but obviously only CGC knows and would never admit if anything were happening so we are just left to speculate. On the topic of CGC pressing; I would never advise anyone to use their service (there are many horror story threads). You just do not know if they actually pressed your books, they damaged books, and there "secret" method is just a very very hot quick press that doesn't actually help most books. You learned a valuable lesson today.
