It is but also you have to understand how many times this type of question is asked. When someone states that the date stamp isn't going to be the hindrance on grade after being read it is usually do to what someone who isn't familiar with grading comics views as "really good condition" opposed to those who do grade comics. When someone new to grading makes the previous statement often the comic eventually posted looks like this: If the comics you have mentioned are original they are worth grading to maximize value; I would recommend taking pictures of them and posting to the "Please grade my comic" subforum which will give you a better understanding of what you might be dealing with.

on first instinct I view Kirby as an generational comic book artist and creator, my first thoughts on Ross is that he is an amazing painter and cover artist. I don't believe Ross has done extended internal comic work over 10 issues more than a small handful of times and without looking it up the only one I can name off hand is his work on Justice (DC). I believe the work of both Ross and Kirby are just to different to try and compare to one another.

The first step is to decide if you want to read or read and collect. If you are undecided then I would recommend starting with just reading and not buying any physical media. Since you mainly pointed out Spider-Man and Cap you can check out Marvel Unlimited as a way to check out "newer" releases. As a recommendation I would stick to reading releases from 2000+ at first then start slipping in story arcs from the 60s-90s. I say this since if you didn't grow up in the time frame even amazing story arcs can be slightly difficult to get in to. If you do find something you want to eventually purchase, I wouldn't buy it new as most TPBs and Omnibus collections can be found on the secondary market much cheaper.

Just looked at it again; and I believe my comment was incorrect after checking the Cert#s 4388059001 through 4388059010+ are all the 10.0 and 9.9s. They all look exactly the same with faint planet outline on the right hand side.

I used to have a spider set-up through google alerts to key word search certain books (including misspellings/numbering/ect) that would report back through email sorted into leveled subfolders depending on results. Unfortunately this is heavily SEO based and the CGC are not very good (they seemed to be indexed only once a day). I have since changed to the AWS back-end which is a bit more robust but still has SEO limitation for non-direct sight inclusions. you can still do set-up alerts with google but I have heard they are not very good even for direct submission sights that are supposed to be checked every hour.

Have a book from MegaCon that finally hit the system after some communication issues with the facilitator (resolved). Super worried about this one. Originally a 9.2 SFG: 3/7/24 (Vintage/Fast Track)

Removing this from the bag isn't going to help nor hurt it, given the condition. I do not remember the first issue being included in a multi-pack but could be wrong so this would be a separate aftermarket packaging.

CGC does not recognize any signature that they or a facilitator does not personally witness, this is why you cannot find any examples. If you try to submit a comic with a signature not witnessed it will be returned with a green labeled and "name written on cover" noted, or a blue label and significant grade reduction. In addition never send any COA to CGC as they will not return it nor will it be encapsulated with the slab. If you have autographed books with COA's and want them authenticated/slabbed you will need to use the other company.

I loved battle chasers and all the variants... spent way to much money collecting ungradable raw copies back in the day, that book was white hot (especially the Red Monika covers). Before starting my X-Men (1991) run I really considered revisiting this title and completing a full run.

It doesn't have anything to do with restoration it is just a separate designation. When they started this five years ago here is what was originally stated on the forums: It isn't a bad idea and once encapsulated you will never actually see the pages but I doubt it adds value as it didn't really catch on with the aftermarket collectors.

Cost: I don't have GPA on hand but 4% of 8-10k roughly; IIRC. Insurance: CI should cover the book while in transit; once CGC has it their insurance will cover it. SS Program: This is going to take some research on your part, talk to the facilitators that will be attending the shows and find the one that you trust with the book. If you are going to be at the convention then that would minimize any miscommunication. Since your book is a 6.5 some rough handling mishaps should be marginal. Pressing: From the graders notes it doesn't sound like a press would help (color breaking creasing) but it would help it lay flat and smooth any wrinkles, though might not help the grade. I would not use CGC, but some facilitators do offer pressing services in addition to facilitation. Overall a 6.5 is a good candidate to get a signature/remarq as not much is going to affect the grade if mistakes are made in handling and a 0.5 swing is going to easier to absorb than a 9.8 dropping to a 9.4.

An improper press can damage a comic; I am unsure of the type of damage you are describing though. There are countless stories on the forums about CCS destroying someones book with they type of quick hot press they are known for. This is in addition to the actual handling of the book prior to and after pressing by CCS then again by CGC. What did the grader notes say? CGC does not take any responsibility for the mishandling of books per their TOS. As for pressing of books; I would not use them barring a roll of the dice on books that didn't really matter (I did this during their 50% offer on some 9.6s I had signed). There are numerous trusted people who will give your books the care they deserve when pressing them and you will not doubt receive recommendations shortly.
