  1. I am sure it will move along eventually, I wont be overly concerned less we enter next month and it is still SFG. I sent in my last CGC 9.8 copy of X-Men #11 (Pressman Variant) for a rogue remarq) but I was asking for a bit extra so we will see how it comes out.
  2. jealous, my remarq is still in SFG and hasn't moved
  3. Not comics related but by coincidence I now work in Mo which is a short drive from Chester, IL (birthplace of Popeye). They have statues of all the characters, a yearly festival, and apparently every summer kids try and steal Popeye's pipe.
  4. Full disclosure these books were sent to CCS during their 50% off back in November for the Jim Lee signing; All three books were 9.6 blue labels without grader notes. I took a wild shot in the dark (they are only moderns) for $30 after not doing any business with due to how badly they mangled some silver age books previously. I believe a stacking bend is something that "should" be pressed out; but I am no expert.
  5. While the forums were down I started a pressing business but got side tracked with my meth addiction and started to swap labels in slabs on the street corner. It was a rough 10 hours.
  6. I received no grader notes on a 9.6, no grader notes on one 9.8, but grader notes on another 9.8.... Its like playing darts, blind. Who knows evil notes lurks in the hearts of the graders.... the Shadow knows!
  7. My remarq is still in SFG; post a pick when yours if finished so I can be envious and bemoan my bad luck while waiting...
  8. Post more picks! I want to see all the cool stuff!
  9. I would not recommend CGC unless you are sending ultra moderns in for their service, which generally equates out to a very hot quick press. There are way to many instances of boardies sending in books for a clean & press and receiving back grader notes of finger prints, bends, etc. This is just my opinion but I also do not believe they "clean" the books. The only problem with any other option is that any good presser is booked for multiples of months and if you send them something now you're not likely to receive it back until after Q4 this year. Unfortunately quality takes time and most are not willing to exchange money to bump you up the line (I am absolutely not ashamed to say that I have tried!)
  10. I just wanted to laugh at myself a bit and was truly shocked how much the final was...55k before BP
  11. I wanted to like this movie so much but felt that it was just too drawn out; I enjoyed the second half of it the the entire first hour of the movie was a struggle. I cannot imagine the directors cut will "fix" this like the Snyder cut of JL did, but I am willing to give it a shot. I don't think the comics have any legs; at ebay prices preorders for CGC 9.8s are only between $70 & $90 depending on the variant.
  12. Not sure why this wasn't pressed out, unless it happened after from being improperly handled. It got a 9.8 and it is signed so it will never be cracked out (and I wouldn't recommend it to be). In theory a 9.6 without grader notes should be for an obvious defect; unfortunately I am oblivious to what is "obvious" and would have really appreciated noted what was wrong. Just for the sake of argument though all three of these were previous 9.6 universal slabs without any grader notes; and I took a flyer on CGC pressing due to the 50% off in November after not having anything pressed by them in 7+ years after some pretty disastrous results.
  13. my sketch is still stuck in SFG, the books at CCS jumped from GEI to Shipped All that is left is the sketch/remarq which is still sitting at SFG
  14. My Jim Lee books that were first at CCS then checked in by CGC, jumped from GEI to shipped All that is left is the sketch/remarq which is still sitting at SFG
  15. To assist next year I plan to make a google doc that sledder can use to more easily track what is available during the raffle. It will be viewable by everyone (via a google doc link) but only have edit permissions to a couple people. Once a prize is selected sledder can place an "x" in the cell which will highlight in red the entire row showing it is no longer available. The selected by box can either be entered manually or a name selected from a drop down menu. I cobbled this together in about 5min and will polish it as the year progresses (using this past years items as a test); once fully created it can be used over and over again without any problems. My goal is to make it as simple as possible but if anyone has suggestions let me know.
  16. The 85 really opened up the search, here is another picture: The explanation on le reddit was given as:
  17. @Get Marwood & I It is 85 (edited above), here is another occurrence of it.
  18. Could this be an over run on the production spool (paper) where it should have been changed out? The text is REF 85 526 0ED
  19. If these are the binders and they are clean and without rust then they are probably worth more than the magazines. A group of 7 of them sold for $50 last week, they were stated in the auction as being in "great condition" when asked for more pictures and if the bars had rust, the seller didn't reply. A single one with rust, stains, and damage sold for $30 in November which tends to be the average given the usual condition.
  20. Received the mysterybox from @comicparadox Paradox today! Really nice couple of Thor's, a Worlds Finest, and an early Overstreet. The Cap is a mark jewelers variant... I hear they are all the rage to get slabbed now I'll leave you on the edge with your grandma's favorite TV doctor before he was your uncle:
  21. Signature only books: completed and shipped 1/2 (arrived in hand 1/4) Remarq/Sketch: Still sitting in SFG CCS: signed, completed by CCS, checked in by CGC 1/3 as SFG, updated to GEI 1/4
  22. Some of my submissions: Signature only books: completed and shipped 1/2 (arrived in hand 1/4) Remarq/Sketch: Still sitting in SFG CCS: signed, completed by CCS, checked in by CGC 1/3 as SFG, updated to GEI 1/4
  23. Jim Lee Signature books: Shipped Remarq/Sketch: still SFG CCS: Finally moved to SFG (with 1/3 check in date) I haven't used CGC's pressing in over 5 years but I sent in some 9.6s so I am not super concerned when they destroy them like previous, plus the 50% was worth a shot.
