  1. Hey stranger! Yeah, hiya' Shiver. You've been scarce around these parts here recently. Gonna make it to San Diego or Chicago? Buy any new books recently?
  2. Thanks to NearMint (Jeff) for a quickly shipped beautiful set of Beautiful Stories for Ugly Kids.
  3. Or better yet Jbud, how about this for "manly"? Wait, shocked Robin, Super-Imps? On second thought, not so manly after all.
  4. Notice my sig line. Look at me like I'm Two-face. I like the grisly horror stuff, the scarier looking the better, but I also like the cutesy stuff. As long as it is "sexy-cute" like most BA DC Romance. Hey, here's a more "manly" World's Finest from the same set I just received. ( I have to redeem myself any way that I can).
  5. I came across a nicely priced low to mid-grade lot on some Silver World's Finest comics. Lotsa' cute covers on these. Here's one of my faves.
  6. Yes, nice book, one of my favorite BA Marvel books. Makes a nice companion to WBN #1 which also has red borders.
  7. You're right. Usually I'm not a mag collector so I normally don't look into it. I just happen to buy them occasionally when I run into them by accident.
  8. Hi. I just received this little three issue series in the mail today. This 3rd issue of Web Of Horror is what Overstreet says is the first published cover by Wrightson, published in 1970. Nice little series that I had never even heard of before seeing this set listed by Calm-mix.
  9. Thanks to Sterling for shipping three CGC slabs in a timely manner and for packaging them the way they should be. Much more protection and extra room than in a typical USPS Priority box. I need to get some of those boxes to send out the slabs I sell as well. Even packed better than the way CGC does it.
  10. Mr. Wrightson Fan, thanks for writing. Don't let it get to you if you are one of the guys that some here talk about overpaying. All kinds of talk flies around here. Accusations, theories, scammers, shills, bad business deals from certain sellers, overgraders, etc. Believe me, being called an "overpayer" is not so bad considering the alternates (I think Greggy has also been accused of over paying). And as you said, if the raw books you were buying were CGCed, they wouldn't look so high anyway. So it's nice to have another serious horror fan on board. Please continue to contribute. Sure, we like to see each other's books but if you don't have a scanner, that's no big deal. What runs are you collecting and what do you think is hardest to find and the most rare in HG? Any speculative bets in this genre for the future?
  11. OK, just spotted this newly listed BIN lot on Ebay. Terrible scan, excellent feedback from a long time Ebay account. Couldn't wait to ask questions. Had to jump, quick. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6539323683&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1 So, am I gonna get lucky on this one?
  12. ? Your average Wrightson is my Favorite Wrightson cover from the entire era. I love the demons and the purple background.
  13. tkg, you and I have the same taste. I LOVE those dark covers, especially the #190 Adams.
  14. Cool book JT. I've got the second issue. While it does not actually contain nudity, there is no way that I'd be allowed to post it here.
  15. Sterling, unfortunately that copy that I scanned a few pages back was about an 8.5. Several spine nicks on that one. Interesting how they stole the TOD Drac. Geez, I just looked at that scan on the last page, looks Waaaay better in the scan than it really is. Surprising how so many defects can just disappear in a cheap scan. There are about eight small creases in the spine and one big one, all you can really see is the big one that looks like a little chunk missing.
  16. Sterling, unfortunately that copy that I scanned a few pages back was about an 8.5. Several spine nicks on that one. Interesting how they stole the TOD Drac.
  17. I thought this one was funny. I'm sure we've probably all dated a Seahag at least once in our lives.
  18. Just received a lot of some Secrets Of Haunted House in the mail today. Does this Vampire remind any of you of another Bronze Vampire?
  19. Great books Oct. I still need #2-4 of this series and an upgrade on the #1.
  20. Cool book POV, I hadn't seen one of these before. Another one to add to the list for San Diego.
  21. I've never dealt with Metro or any of the big-time mail order services before. But I've always been curious about if these guys pay enough attention and give enough time to do a thorough grading job on the $100 and less books as they do on their multi-thousand $ books. Do the largest of the dealers provide the same quality of service on all books regardless of value and condition? I've always been curious about that.
  22. It's the "Infinite Bronze Horror" thread not just DC. Though I can see how you could come to that conclusion. The amount of HG DC Horrors posted here would make one think they are quite common... So post away Nik...non-DCs are always welcomed... Jim Yeah, when I first joined into this thread, oh so long ago, I was pretty much a Marvel horror Zombie. Then I was bombarded repeatedly over the head by one DC after another, again and again and again. It was relentless. I posted a few Marvel scans and they just got no respect. So what the hell, if ya' can't beat 'em, ya' join 'em. Now I by far prefer the DCs over the Marvels. And I thought that I could not be brainwashed. Damn you Sterling, Dice, Shiver, etc.
  23. Scott, you should come back here more often. The theme of this thread along with the people here make this by far my favorite place to hang out and talk comics. Lot's of cool stuff. Check out the BA Batman thread too as an extension of the stuff going on here. Did you ever get into the Bronze horror DCs or were you more of a Marvel guy? I was 100% Marvel until these whackos here turned me into a DC Horror fanatic. I have to thank them for that. Hang around here long enough and you'll become one too.
  24. Where do you find room for all that? I assume you live in a house. I have maybe 8 longboxes and I doubt I could find a place for them in my apartment. I live in an apartment but have a spare bedroom set aside for the collection. Jim And I have a downstairs office specifically for my comics and my computer. Hey, when you are a comic addict like we all are, you just gotta plan for the room. You really need to think about these things when you plan on where/how you want to live.
  25. Yeah, it's quite a few, mostly in the 7.5 to 9.2 range. All accumulated within the last 15 months or so. Before that I was buying all TOD and WBN. Before that I was buying all Uncanny X and ASM. I'm tired of superheroes now and want to sell most of it except for the Bats. But before UXM and ASM I was into the "bad girl" thing. Need to sell off half of that stuff but gotta keep the best of the bad girls. Someday I'll get back into my true love: ECs
