  1. My guess is this is not so much to keep submitters happy as it is to make it less a way of favoring CCS over its competitors. If they give time for CCS to finish pressing backlog and consider it in on time a similar courtesy to Joey and the other pressers makes sense.
  2. That's actually huge for people who have things at somewhere other than CCS (e.g. Joey). Kind of evens out the whole thing a bit.
  3. It is odd though. I sent in the comics in February thinking that I wouldn't have to think about them or worry about them for 6 months or so. With the CGC announcement I get to worry about them months earlier than I planned to.
  4. I just hope I'm before your subs. I don't know if Joey can take care of your 18,357 comics in time.
  5. I call BS. Hey now, he never said he was any good at it.
  6. That's very cool. What year was that? (I was specifically talking about the mainstream media in the UK with the Duncan McAlpine article. 👍) 1973 I believe. And that was UPI which was one of the two main news wires in the day. Carried across the US.
  7. Congrats @JazzMan. I've got a custom title, but it doesn't count.
  8. Not selling my comics in 2007 and putting all the proceeds into AMZN. Not selling all my comics in 2016 and putting the proceeds into Bitcoin. Not selling all my comics last year and putting the proceeds into GME.
  9. Isn't @oakman29 your brother or something?
  10. @joeypost Just wondering if you have an estimate on when my February 6th pressing would make it to CGC? What's your backlog looking like right now?
  11. Yes. Get a key u want I'm kind of considering this as well. If the 4500 that the 9.6 just went for on Heritage is repeatable, that puts it in the same ballpark as a nice mid grade Strange Tales #110. On the other hand it would break up my Steranko Strange Tales covers complete set in 9.4/9.6.
  12. Maybe, maybe not. The threads are organized by most recently updated, not most recently started. If you go back to the oldest page like BigLeagueChew did you can find threads that were started months before this one.
  13. When my kids were young they thought of hippie as an insult. I would let them know that the hippies were the ones fighting against the status quo in the 60's which is what pushed our civilization forward. Now that they have grown they are all counter culture people themselves and have a much greater respect for the hippies. I often remind them of their using 'hippie' as an insult.
  14. I can tell you don't have kids yet. The above is what every parent says until they actually have children. On the OP question I haven't had that issue. I even have bought comics specifically for the younger two to try to get them interested and they showed some interest for a short time but didn't end up getting the collecting bug. If they did show interest I would do everything I could to encourage it. That said I'm a collector, not a dealer or even an investor.
  15. And here I was in the what's not hot thread saying my Steranko covers were ice cold, especially in comparison to Neal Adams covers.
  16. *Makes note to pick up a case of White Claw Mango drinks and stash it in the walls of his house*
  17. That's because of rounding Kav. Here's two easy ways to think of it. There are 36 possible combinations. 18 are even 18 are odd. 50/50. Or go by each die. First die is 50% odd 50% even, Second die will be the same odd or even 50% of the time.
  18. There are three sides with an odd number of pips, there are three sides with an even number of pips. Unless you are saying something about the minor difference of weight due to the carve out of the pips there is an even chance of an odd number or an even number. And even if you are saying something about the minor difference in weight I would assume that the lighter sides (those with more pips carved out) would tend towards up.
  19. Wait, where did you get that idea? If you roll two dice exactly 50% of the time the sum of the pips is odd and 50% of the time the sum of the pips is even.
