  1. Just checked my HOM missing roster...now it's 174,175,190,205,230,256,278,314 Still the same old issues haunting me... technically if I was more aggressive issues 230 onward would be the final issues. Oh well...the quest for the final 8 continues.
  2. Long time no talk...horror heathens...more goodies I've recently slabbed...slowly and surely...
  3. Well, you can refer your girl to the insane prices I paid for these books a few years ago that are now easily 30% cheaper or better. You couldn't have picked a better time to start!
  4. Welcome to the obsession! Still highly unvalued as compared to other books, but that's just my opinion. High grade 174...what grade? There's usually 2-3 that pop up in a given year so be patient. I sold my 9.6 so I'm looking for another copy. I'm thinking about just waiting patiently until a 9.8 shows up...which I think will happen. A resub of the PC copy may be a good contender. If you think HOM 174 is tough...try to nab a HOS 81. Damn near impossible. HOM is the only title which I'm currently collecting now (and only missing issues at that)...in fact I'm eliminating all of my books next year except for the "core": HOM, HOS, Ghosts, Unexpected, Witching Hour, Weird War Tales...so stay peeled to ComicLink...lots of good stuff coming to market next year. An end of an era of sorts...but will help me eliminate other titles I have no emotional tie to, allow me to get some much needed house stuff done and have some funds for upgrades/new purchases of core titles.
  5. One of the very first DC bronze horror books that I ever bought. Times change, interests change, but this will always be one of my favorite books and one of my favorite Wrightson covers! Goodbye old friend. Hope you find a great new home. (thumbs u See page 1, third post of this thread. I thought it looked familiar!
  6. I see tons of good books popping up in the Jan foccussed auction at ComicLink.
  7. nice HOM...sweet! I had a raw 8.5 a few years back and I've regretted selling it.
  8. Thanks to the following buyers for quick and painless transaction! ft88 Tsimanga Weird seanfingh
  9. If Rotor was the seller, I can see why. I paid crazy amounts (at the time) for some of my HOM books but the market has finally caught up with the price I paid. Oh the horror!
  10. As you and your dad probably know...I consider this bizarre behavior almost the rule and not the exception....in the masses in this hobby (eBay a massive example). I think I've tried to limit my risk in this hobby yet I've seen all sorts of crazy behavior like this. I'm a glass half-empty guy and some of my early experiences with some nutso sellers do tend to stick with you for a while. That's why the list of people I buy from is roughly a dirty dozen or so.
  11. Well, after many many years of collecting this title (6 years to be exact)...I've just hit 100% on this title. Miracles do happen. Top census / 1 of 1 All issues are 9.4 or better.
  12. If a COD #1 9.8 and Ghosts #1 9.6 can go for multi-thou, may as well play the lottery.
  13. I'm playing the stock market...if I can turn the $5k into $25k I'll feel even better.
  14. btw, it sold. I'm sitting in a corner, smiling and bleeding. (btw, that's a Joker reference in the Batman: Arkhan Asylum game I just finished)
  15. That's my problem as well. Maybe I can use the justification that I want to wait for a 9.8...
  16. OK, so someone Bin'd my $5k price on my House of Mystery #174 CGC 9.6 book....but I don't have another one. What say you?
