  1. By your definition you're stating that putting a box of comics in a florida attic in the summer for less than a day is restoration. If applying heat without intent isn't restoration (attic), applying heat with intent isn't restoration either (pressing). Intent can't be the measure.
  2. I mean lets be real here, we don't want pressing to be restoration because there's a good outcome for everyone involved if it's not restoration (more high grade non-restored books, more business for cgc/pressers, more money when we sell, etc...). I (conveniently) prefer to think of cleaning like washing and waxing my car; on a nicer car that's filthy, you want to keep it looking nice, same goes for a book. Likewise pressing to me is like paintless dent removal; there's technically no body work or paint done, just pop that ding right back out with a suction cup; when done well, it's in-perceivable. Restoration is like mechanical reconstruction after car accident, e.g. paint, body work, frame straightening, etc... My
  3. Rules No HOS or Probies 1st Take in thread wins Shipping is FREE via media mail (I know I know, but TPB's DO qualify) in a gemini mailer, can ship priority for additional cost (you pay) Paypal (to verified address) or money order Watchmen TPB 1st print 1987 - $75 I'm going to call this VG/VG+ due to top spine corner and color breaking creases on top edge, along with general cover wear; book is relatively scarce in 1st print.
  4. He's trolling, anyone questioning why you would grade an X-Men 1 on this forum knows better. Nice book @FrankTheTank92
  5. Agree, it doesn't appear the white out is accidental, it is purposefully confined within the letter L; it's not a spill, it's a touch up. Regardless, really nice book!
  6. 4.5ish for me, too much color break on the top edge; press would help flatten bottom corner but I don't think would materially improve the grade.
  7. I laugh every time I see this cover, there's literally zero benefit to the spikes on the belt when they're on the OUTSIDE; at least flip the belt before you swing it!
  8. My take is 8.0ish, back cover appears to be bindery defects which objectively doesn't hurt the grade but subjectively (IMO) affects the desirability. At least it's on the back cover!
  9. good buyer, fast payment, patient through postal delays, thanks!
  10. added #28, #29, #31, #34 - will be adding more in coming days.
  11. After many years without selling, I'm starting to thin my hoard. Here's a feedback thread for all my lovely buyers.
  12. 1st trumps any PM, no HOS/probies Shipping is $5 1st class mail to US only, prefer money order or paypal Rear cover scans and additional pictures where applicable are in spoiler *Update 10/6 - added #28, #29, #31, #34, will be adding more in coming days. SOLD X-Men #15 $145 - VG+ ish, really nice presenting book, color breaking top right corner crease keeps this book this low, pages and whites are bright, general cover wear on front/back SOLD X-Men #16 $75 - VG- ish, date stamp front cover, general cover wear, little bit of spot staining on front cover SOLD X-Men #23 $35 - GD/VG ish - bottom right corner missing, some front interior cover staining, rear cover printing scrapes, general cover/spine wear SOLD X-Men #24 $35 - VG ish - geneal cover wear, nice reader copy X-Men 28 Incomplete $20 - lots of cover wear, tape on front cover. 14 page count, I believe it's missing the centerfold but don't have a reference to compare; it doesn't appear the missing page affects the story based on page numbering. There is a coupon cut and "M Phillips" is tastefully written in multiple places (wish this kid took better care of his book!) X-Men #29 Incomplete $15 - presents nice, missing a page (centerfold I think like #28) - 14 page count, it doesn't appear it affects the story based on the page numbering. There are 2 coupons cut out, "M. Phillips" strikes again, name written on a few of the pages. X-Men #31 VG- ish $35, general cover wear, staining on rear cover X-Men #33 VG- ish $45 - cover creases, little bit of soiling on the "X" in X-men, bottom staple not attached to cover

  14. It's been a while since I've posted and am really stuck on this one. There's a faint vertical crease on the front and rear cover cover. I'm curious if this is possibly a printer crease before the cover was printed (and thus wouldn't affect the grade). Interested to hear what folks think!
  15. I bought everything he had. The three pictured I bought from a guy who's Uncle had passed them on to him, I also got a Amazing Adult Fantasy 11 too out of the deal, but the cover is shreaded. The guts are still complete though. Unfortunately he told me that his uncle sold his ASM #1 a few years before he gave him these books The ~30 other books I picked up from a different garage sale. The guy had two boxes, one DC, one Marvel. The DC was really beat so I passed, but the Marvels were all nice. He couldn't find his second Marvel box but he's going to call me when he finds it. He swears it has some early ASM and X-men #3.
  16. Picked up these guys yesterday as well as ~30 lower grade early silver TOS/TTA/Avengers books on the cheap!
