  1. Can you request a blue label that has a sig and numbering on it, though? I always assumed it would get green if not the yellow label after the COA treatment. I don't know if I've seen as signed blue label like how blatantly signed these copies are but who knows. My guess is it's a census error OR some Image employees (as speculated on Facebook) have gotten some of their comp copies graded (assuming those exist but it seems that happens more often than the public would like it to).
  2. New census update today - check out the revised #'s! Do we have any confirmation if they're still taking these for grading? I'm sure there are plenty still in queue and some with CCS (which will definitely delay the census #'s getting finalized). Also important to note that there are 13 blue label 9.8's and 1 9.6...could this be a mistake on the census or did some unsigned copies escape, perhaps? 3. Census was updated yesterday - here are the new #'s! From what I understand (assuming what I read on Facebook groups is true but that's always as crapshoot) the 15th may have been the cutoff. My belief is that as long as it gets to CGC by the 25th it'll be safe for a yellow label. Is there anything online posted by CGC that states an actual cutoff date though (or does anyone know)? My guess is also there are numerous copies still in queue to be graded along with numerous ones sent off for pressing. It'll be a few more weeks (maybe months) before these #'s truly settle in I think. 4. Awesome! Not sure if I'm going to get one yet or not but who knows...maybe I'll bite on this one too
  5. I've seen online about there being a 1:250 for it, too, but if so will it come with a COA as well for CGC grading? If so, I've not heard confirmation on that at least but there seems to be word of a 1:250 signed variant of it, too. No idea when it has to be ordered by, though (should be soon if not too late already)
  6. Well good news to report is that the non-graded raw sales seem to still be going in the $800-1K range but once the 25th deadline passes who knows how that will affect the value. Still no new census updates so hopefully we'll see an updated total amount graded list next week. Legitimate looking CGC 9.8 in-hand sales (based on eBay data) seem to range in the $1275-$1450 range. To me, that's a pretty positive outcome when we're about 3-4 weeks post release of these issues! Once we see the total amount yellow labeled that will be the real litmus test at sustainability on the value of these, though!
  7. Anyone know when the census will be updated on this one? Will it be next week sometime? I think it's been at least a week at the same #'s and I'm certain many more have been slabbed in that timeframe. The grading cutoff for SS labels is on the 25th of this month for them to be received, right?
  8. I'd be interested to know this - do you know when it's due to be released? Pre-order info, anyway? Edit: NVM just googled and saw it was due out first week of October. Hopefully we'll hear something very soon about any exclusives like a 1:250 signing and such!
  9. Looking forward to seeing the CGC census update progressively on this over the next few weeks! I wonder if the 30 day deadline will be a firm deadline from 8/25 release time (if so there are only three weeks to go on that). Either way, am curious to see how many make the 9.8 grade, how many go higher/lower, and how many miss the deadline or get the qualified status. This will be fun to track for sure!!! Does the census update again tomorrow? 10. First off I’m sorry to hear this about your experience but I’ve learned from past mistakes not to assume what I’m told is the absolute truth. Were you dealing with the shop owner or an employee? Does the shop have multiple employees? I would have made certain before I left the store that I had made a concrete deal with the owner and maybe even gotten some sort of proof to guarantee I would I get the pins before purchasing anything. This may have been an issue of too many employees not making proper communication between each other. Regardless I’m sorry for you missing out on the pins but I most likely would not have purchased the books without a guarantee of some kind that I would be getting the pins later.
  11. Welcome, Brian!!! I think it's awesome what you shared with all of us and like the rest of us it's nice to know you appreciate comics and comic art!!! My name is Ryan and I'm a huge comic book fan and have been collecting since I was 11. My first 'big' comic that I purchased was a mid-grade ASM 101 at my very first comic convention and from that moment on I was hooked on collecting 1st appearances (the 'rookie cards' of comic book superheroes). Since then I collected key books and first appearances that I could afford and while I've taken breaks throughout the yearsfrom time to time I've always come back to it and this hobby has been my favorite collecting pursuit throughout my entire life. A little over 8 years ago I started my Walking Dead Complete with Variants registry set here on the boards and the goal to have the top spot drove me to create a CGC graded set that I'm truly proud of. So welcome to the boards! It's great to have you and I for one appreciate the work you're already doing for all of us here in the registry! Thanks again for sharing your story and be on the lookout for my occasional set requests! Ryan
  12. Thanks for Tom for helping put this into thread form! I think it's nice to have a catalogue/database of these things in case anyone wants to research it further (it gives a baseline as to how to start/track/estimate values at least... I'd love to see an image of one of the SS 9.9's someday. I've been a TWD collector for a long time and have never seen one of these surface. Very mysterious for sure
  13. So when you say they sold it to you for what they normally would charge for it, out of curiosity what would that be ? It sounds like you got a good deal but if you're talking cover price then you got an amazing deal! PS - the email address to the SS team is located at the bottom of the COA (I missed that myself first time around)

Please PM me if you need these usernames or would like any additional references. Typically I'm only a buyer on the boards but I'm selling a couple of extra books, hence, this sales thread. 6. No returns on these items (please PM me with any questions before purchase). Please note that I am not a professional grader but I do feel after 20+ years of selling experience in the field of comics that I know a decent amount of what I'm talking about (and feel free to check out my Walking Dead registry set if you need some verification as to whether or not I know what it takes to make a 9.8 grade). If you want to see any other pictures of the books please feel free to let me know before claiming one for purchase and I'll be happy to do so! Here we go…prices of books along with the shipping info for each will be posted below...please let me know if you have any questions! Ryan ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ King Spawn #1 FULL SET of all 7 Covers (A, B, C, D, E, F, & G) - ALL ARE NM+ 9.4 or better condition! $30 + $12 Shipping! (5 sets available) NOW $28 + $12 Shipping! King Spawn #1 Sketch 1:50 Variant Cover H - NM+ 9.6/9.8 worthy condition! $36 + $10 Shipping! (2 copies available) SOLD! I was able to cherry pick ALL of these issues from a stockpile of about 100 copies each per variant. I chose the absolute best ones available and I'm pretty good about choosing 9.6/9.8 worthy copies. I can guarantee that ALL of these are NM+ worthy condition but I'd also confidently submit these and expect those same high grade returns (so if you're looking for NM+ grade copies then these are the droids you are looking for). There may be a ton of copies on eBay, but mine are legitimate NM+ worthy copies. The sketch copies especially are ultra high grade but I like to err on the side of caution (but I'd submit all my copies and would expect to be pleased with the results). Feel free to check out my kudos thread or Walking Dead complete with Variants set if you need some reassurance! That's it for now - thanks for looking and PM me if you have any questions! - Sensei Ryan
  15. So I've not had time to read my copies of KS1 just yet but while I know there are numerous returning character appearances in this issue does anyone who knows the recent storyline of Spawn better than me see any first appearances in this first issue? I was an original reader of Spawn when it first came out in the 90's (was one of the first books I collected and read, actually) but I stopped around issue 60-ish years ago. Also prices on this one are all over the place but seem to be consistently selling for $850+ raw. I haven't tracked any graded sales yet but I saw one raw sale today break $1250. I've heard mixed opinions on this from to 'this one's gonna be one to keep long term' and the opposite of 'this will crash soon.' It's pretty limited on the grand spectrum but it's not as limited as I would have preferred or originally thought it would be. I wonder how many 9.8's will make it to grading to get the yellow label treatment? How many won't be subbed? And how many will fall to 9.6 or below (or the opposite and hit 9.9)? Lots of things to consider before determining this one's worth on the aftermarket...
  16. Good lord so does that mean he got 60 copies (assuming I did the math right) of the signed variant???
  17. Greetings, fellow CGC board members! So I was surprised to see that there's not been a thread created yet to discuss the mass hysteria surrounding King Spawn #1 (and it's subsequent ongoing series - the first new Spawn ongoing in nearly 30 years from the Spawn Universe). Am I the only one excited about the hype for this issue with all 9 different variants (and the elusive SS Todd McFarlane 1/1,697 exclusive variant)? Come on...I know I'm not the only one invested in this madness out there on the boards! Here's what all the commotion is about (this is the art image of the most sought after cover prior to the signings, of course). I'm pretty pumped about it, to be honest! And the thought of doing the COA/SS Yellow Label thing was so progressive about this variant and I was all about that so I had to invest! Oh and if you did get a signed #1, feel free to brag about it in this thread and we can 'document' the ones we've seen (assuming that sounds exciting to the rest of you like it does to me, that is)! Forgive the nerd in me but I thoroughly enjoy cataloguing! LONG LIVE KING SPAWN! - Ryan
  18. & @BladeTX This guy tried to sell it a while back, too (he's a high roller...with apparently deep pockets). He must have shelved it after not selling it the first time (I think he was asking 25K for it back then). 20K seems on the high end of what I think one would sell for at the current climate but I'm not sure what he's got in it. For what it's worth, I hope it sells for 20K!!!
  19. Can't wait to see them in person! T. Kirkham knocked it out of the park on these for sure! And S.Kirkham did a great job at promoting them, too!
  20. @Crops068 got me 2 sets on the way!!! Can’t wait to see them in person!
  21. Any info as to why? Ironically this is one I need so of course it is heating up.
  22. Got my Skybound X Exclusive CVL Clementine Variant CGC 9.8 in today! Who else got theirs in, too?
