  1. Let me clarify - I subbed books 6 or 7 months ago and got them back in like 2-3 weeks (record time). I haven't submitted any books since then so the 74 day TAT is insanely long compared to that (I mean)...
  2. I didn't realize the deadline had passed, either. Usually there is a banner on the CGC Registry site (on the left) with a countdown ticker to the deadline which made me wonder when the deadline was, too. Either way, good luck to all who are vying for the top spots!!!
  3. Jesus - when did this happen??? 74 day turnaround for Modern Fast Track??? It's been about 6-7 months since I subbed some books and was thinking about doing so but have the turnaround times EVER been this bad for fast track???
  4. I agree with you completely on key books featuring first appearances of major characters. Those are all exploding on the secondary market (especially the Marvel keys...it’s only a matter of time before the TWD keys do the same moreso than they already have). I can’t wait for that to happen But the reprints and second prints (and reprints of second prints) game is MUCH different. So while they’re also comic books and highly collectible it’s hard to compare them to modern era keys if that makes sense.
  5. I hope for the sake of the deluxe collectors on the 9.9’s that you are correct! Regardless of the outcome this time around I would be willing to make a solid wager that Tom’s original estimate will be accurate in a few months if not this exact timeframe. It takes some serious commitment to invest in reprints of reprints (and trust me I know what that commitment level takes 😂). It should be fun to watch nonetheless!
  6. I fixed them for you, Brian! I actually think Tom's pretty spot on for most of the guesses...I can't imagine the 2nd print 9.9's going higher than $300 at this time but to be honest I think Tom did a great job at his estimates. We shall see in short time, though!
  7. Can you post a pic of the full front cover? And are you sure it's not something on the inner well of the CGC case (and not on the actual book itself)? Before I give my opinion I'd like a better pic...and I'm as OCD as they come To a fault, sadly, at times, though
  8. Where's all the discussion about this??? Rick Grimes Returns (sort of) + Clementine! SKYBOUND X! I mean, I get busy and go work for a few weeks and while I am gone we get tons of posts about who posts the most but no posts about actual new TWD content goodness??? You guys disappoint me Apparently I need to post more now...geez. I'm supposed to READ the breaking news...not BREAK it. Come on...this is a day old news by now!!! (Special thanks to Tom @BladeTX for breaking the news to me yesterday)
  9. I was under the impression this happened months ago...why the long wait after all the stuff that went down way back when?
  10. To get attention & yes it's real. They probably have no intention of selling it, just wanting attention for some reason...and at least CGC got a roughly $40 donation out of it
  11. They are about to open up to grading sports cards to, correct? I read that a while back and just assumed that had already started. I'm surprised they haven't started grading the comic cards because like you said apparently it's now a lucrative business!
  12. Will CGC not grade any of the Marvel cards or was it a specific type of these cards that CGC will not grade?
  13. Got it - I was thinking it might be helpful in case a buyer tried to scam a person and eBay wanted to force hold the funds. If the funds aren't there I'm not sure what they do in that case as they can't hold them if they're not there I don't think, right? I've never had that happen to me before but I always anticipate it as eBay is 100% pro buyer in almost every case (luckily in the few instances I've had over the years I've come out on the good side of those decisions). I've never liked the thought that eBay could freeze or hold your funds if a buyer is trying to scam you but I know it happens.
  14. So do you just prefer to keep you eBay checking account separate from your main account? Just asking because if there is a benefit to doing this please share (I just keep mine together). Is it just an organizational preference?
  15. As a high school teacher I've heard a lot of things but that expression may not have made it to the east coast just yet...or if it has I'm just old and haven't picked up on it yet. The latest new lingo I've heard 'round these here parts is 'sus' which to me is a little suspect in and of itself lol. Oh the irony... (rushes to google diamond hands now to find out what it means)
  16. Thank you so much, Stephen! My 40th was great and I got to spend it with my daughter as she celebrated her 10th so that made it the best trip ever! I appreciate it!
  17. @TappanZee any updates as to how this situation got resolved for you yet?
  18. Hello fellow Dead-heads! I just wanted to give a huge THANK YOU & shout out to my brother and good friend Tom McElroy @BladeTX for his super awesome, impressive, and thoughtful birthday gift he sent me. It's not everyday you turn 40 (cough, cough...29...cough, cough) and for the amount of planning and prep work that he put in to making this happen (from the custom TWD label, to getting it slabbed as a page, to getting it to me by my birthday...it was truly an impressive and awesome feat). Tom and I became friends a few years ago when he purchased a book from me on eBay and we've been chatting TWD and comics and everything else in-between ever since! I'm so happy to have had played a part in his passion/addiction to The Walking Dead and I hope for many more years of convos and hopefully an in-person hangout (if the coronavirus ever ends and cons resume). So thank you, Tom, for being such an amazing and good friend! But now I have about 7 months and some change to plan for what I'mma do to make your next trip around the sun a special one, too! Thanks for reading, fellow TWD addicts! Tom ROCKS! Ryan
  19. The fact that he's allowed to still post freely in any part of these boards is the most shocking thing. Did NO ONE catch on to this type of behavior from him before his interaction with Overstreet, comic cons, etc.? Surely there had to be clear and present warning signs before the label issue thing and all the nonsense that ensued after because from what I see he clearly has an obvious disconnect with reality! Oh, and IBTL!
  20. It happens all the time on here but the OP may just be waiting for CGC to weigh in. That'll be a while, I'm guessing. Based on all the evidence presented, though, I still don't think CGC is in error here (and apparently that was not the popular opinion early on because I must be in the minority to not just blatantly believe what every new or semi-new poster claims is true or factual on the boards...especially after 3 decades of a book sitting in storage with little to no before raw pics and only memories to go on...but what do I know )
  21. To me the books look to be the same - those white specks could just be the random inner surprises that show up in slabs (I see them all the time) - they don't appear to be actually on the book. I can see no other discernible flaw to match the two front cover images (a pre-graded back cover image, however, could easily have solved this debate as the slab back pic seems to have obvious identifiable marks).
  22. You know, they do denote the tape on the cover and the color touch (wherever it might be) and while they should denote the obvious trimming, a quick glance with the ole eyeballs will tell you that it's clearly missing some edges It would be like seeing the words STAN LEE written in huge magic marker on the front where it can clearly be seen and not noting it (because you can see it) - maybe they felt it was too obvious to denote? I mean, if you just look at the cover you can clearly see the front and back cover are missing edges. But I agree with the masses, it should have been noted with the tape and CT for full disclosure but come on, it's not like they're trying to fool anyone into a sale I don't think.
  23. "Material Used: Pencil, Crayon, Chalk, Re-Glossing Agent, Piece fill from Cadavers." That's some SERIOUS restoration if cadavers were used
