  1. Sorry - should have clarified pre-sales. My bad.
  2. Yup Midtown sold out of issue #1
  3. Actually Miso - you have inadvertantly raised a good point. A lot of peeps on CG maintain its only TV/Movie rumours that bump up prices. This should see if they are right or not. BTW - I am genuinely sorry for anyone that has a stack of these - I would not wish any of my fellow boardies to take a financially hit - that is said with all sincerity.
  4. Nah - thats just to stupid for words Ryan. Steve Niles was on that list, I don't think it would be cool to BS another writer.
  5. Its taking off slowly guys - regular #1 that is. Dre is selling @$60, I sold 1 at $70 and I have more watchers this time around. If #4 - #6 are good - the old 6 issue rule is FIRMLY in play on this book - then Bedlam is good to go. If the issues are good. All goes back to the "First" again really I SAID PUT MY HEAD BACK ON!!!! Brilliance in a sentance. Madder Red coming to a top 10 villain list very soon!
  6. How epic is moderns these days? Artists, writers and now the head of Image popping on. Kevin Smith on another thread - all we need now is Andrew Lincoln or some such celeb and we have it all. Plus comics.....
  7. Watch the dumping frenzy on ebay now! List and sell before the world notices. I loved it up until about #10 - then The only thing saddening me is that I have 1 x #1 left. Genuinely sorry for you Jeff - you worked hard collecting all those SS copies. FIRE SALE!!
  8. Eric - yes they are, but that generally never translates into a profit down the line.
  9. But definitely not a nine month comic selling for $500 slabbed! You are going to have to dumb that down a bit for me mate please.
  10. I have a couple of valuable (for me) slabbed books that I'm not sure what to do with. My home is secure, and even if someone got in I doubt if they would recognise an 'expensive' comic if they saw it. However the thought of slabs being thrown around for fun, just like thieves throwing paint about or krapping on your cat fills me with the jeebies. So at what point do you consider: a) Bank Vault b) Safe at home c) Hiding in plain sight - ie a gem within much drek. Public forum - etc etc. In Australia a handgun is illegal and Rifles are very hard to get, so Gun-safes are not an option. Andy
  11. There will not be a 45k first print run.Never. 18 - 20k FIRST PRINT, sure for 2nd and up,the total may rise significantly. Who wants a second print?
  12. Bedlam Image standard cover was 17,000 Eof W will be around the 20k mark max. 2nd printings and all that. Total was upto 500 odd for boardies - I will add my 50 to that - all to be slabbed. 550 and rising, who else in into EoW?
  13. Can't believe the lack of interest - TWD must be finished - the bubble has burst!! A new record $3500 for a blue 9.8 is set A forgotten cast member returns And nothing - no pages of thoughts or comments. Bubble has burst - Wheres the nowhere man series...
  14. AAnnnnnddddddddddddd..... Everyone needs to take a deep breath. 98% of new titles will be a bust. of those 2% remaining, the flame will only flicker for a short period. The long-term (in modern's over a year) successes you can count on 1 hand. Its those you need to find, and the only way is to do a ton of reading and research...and have patience. I would say, after the walking dea, only Revival and Bedlam MAY join TWD. Saga, whist awesome, will soon be having a 50,000+ print run. Issues other than #1's always end up being worth just over cover unless they are one of the above. Jumping in with both feet and a full wallet will lead you to the path of poverty very quickly. So before you rush out and spend $300 on Nowhere men #4 2nd print - inhale and think. Some of the purchases on here are absurd -
  15. as andy would say ..thats alot of Kangaroo Hide ..
  16. That will be awesome - Rick needs more muscle. Lose Oscar and T-Dog and now Daryl. Gain: Michonne,Tyreese, the white dude, black chick and other white kid. Now Morgan - get Daryl back and thats a help. But: Rick,Michonne,Tyreese,Morgan,Daryl,Glenn and Maggie - thats still 7 vs Woodbury.(plus the white guy - but I think he won't be around for long....) Leaves Carl,One legged Hershel,Axel,Carol and Becky to defend a whole prison? Gets me back to my long winded and oft repeated theory that Woodbury and The Prison will join forces after either the Govenor,or Rick dies. 70 odd people - live and train in the prison - move to Woodbury and expand. Accept other survivors - begin to take back Georgia. Sounds like a plan for season 4 to me! Cheers for the link mate (thumbs u
  17. Sold my MP as well (kept 2 #1 first prints) - Bedlam will arrive. Revival, climbing as we speak. Saga, here to stay! Bedlam delayed - again.
  18. Nick needs to remember the perilous condition this book is in. His first real big-number book doesn't need more disruption with schedules. This is the 2nd time. He is running out of feet to shoot himself in....
  19. Hard to argue with much there Thor - I especially agree with ToT as I don't really see what it brings to the table that hasn't been done before? Manhattan projects I sold ages ago - only had a couple, think about $25 each. Looks like a poor move, but I didn't really get into the book so I actually don't care tbh. Saga's print run has to catch up with it sooner or later, but PP,Revival and Bedlam have more to climb (Bedlam has to start!)
  20. *breaking news* - well for me anyway. Going through GPA, I happened to glance at the top 20 modern age prices ever paid. Places #2 #3 #5 and #6 were filled by The Walking Dead 9.9 - highest being $10,100 which I think we all knew. #1 of course being TMNT #1 $18,000 New Mutants 98 and ASM 252 9.9's rounded out the top 10. The bottom #11 - #20 had TMNT,TWD, Albedo and ASM #300 (Plus 'Uncle Scrooge #179 ) rounding it out. However a sale from December 2012 caught my eye. There in 20th place on the top 20 sales of modern comics sat: The Walking Dead #1 9.8 - who knew about that? Price: $3,500 Sorry if I missed it (its only 4 weeks ago) but a blue label breaks $3500!! Incredible!
