  1. Yup. Same guy. Well I'll be damned - I never knew that. Maybe he financed all the comic buying when he found one of 3 (I think) existing copies of "Do I Love You" ? He was certainly always involved in some sort of 'fuss' in the scooter/Northern scene since I got into it in 1978. Small world. Thanks for that.
  2. Thanks for the time and effort to respond. You had me at mendacity...... Will browbeat our rubbish LCS to get an issue or two in!
  3. I don't think its possible to lose much on Bedlam - 1st print is still selling for cover, and the variants are dropping in price weekly. The slabbed ones are slowly going up,but the release dates need to be kept to!
  4. Whats it about Ken - lets have the story direct from the creative team. Persuade me to go buy one mate!
  5. Elaborate... crazy high pricing! there are always people wanting high prices, i think there are just more of them now. 90% of the threads in there always end up "thanks, moving to ebay" True, but I was surprised at some of the stuff that was selling instantly today. Nowhere Men #1 NM/NM+ for $50? Sixth Gun 1 NM- for $50? Multiples of those books selling at those prices? I wasn't suprised with the Sixth Gun JJ - those TV episode confirmation drums are getting louder and the general public have finally heard them. I think $50 will be cheap in a few months. Not many good #1's around.
  6. As soon as you are satisfied with the price on offer. If you want to accept $90 for every 9.8 blue Revival #1 - then its time to sell.
  7. This Ian Levine fella - he's not the same guy who was instrumental in Northern Soul becoming huge in the UK? All those oscure 'B' sides. Went onto DJ at many scooter rallies over the decades? The same guy?
  8. Morning Ryan - see some housekeeping has been done. How much were those cosplay outfits - thats pretty awesome that saga (que Thesebackpages) gets a designer range after 8 or so issues!
  9. Depending on the humidity in the area it needs to be recharged once every couple of weeks or so Interesting - I would probably buy two of them then so I could swap it out upon visits. Thanks That is a really good idea. I must admit I am leaning to what Jimbo said earlier - bank deposit box and have just a couple at home with say $10,000 of specialist insurance. Thanks for all the good suggestions peeps.
  10. Its funny ,but I only recently absorbed the fact that this comic transends so many generations. I loved it on its release (and never kept one ) and my kids saw the films/cartoons/reprints and now its recreating itself all over again. This comic can only continue to grow steadily...cowabunga dude. This is reaching the top of my 'must have' list quite quickly! Congrats to all the owners and thanks for the wonderful pics! Much appreciated Andy
  11. You can trust the likes of Ryan,Krighton,Rosen,Bagel etc as they are just normal collectors. You will be safe if you follow their leads.
  12. Yup,same as PP. I was called all sorts of names when I was grabbing just about any PP run,as long as it included a 9.8 potential number #1. Highest was $110 for #1 - #6. People thought I was bonkers. Kinda like RIPD now - are there any left for sale anywhere under $80?
  13. Thanks CBT. I hope Bedlam does gain some traction - the story deserves it. Who,in your opinion is "The First"? Oh and Braggy - you are now on ignore. Its like a weight being lifted.
  14. Its 5.30 pm. Foodtime soon, and we are heading out to the local bistro for dinner. I'm the driver,so sadly no drinks for me. But please go ahead and have another, anything to keep warm in Canada eh? What IS the temp in Feb btw?
  15. Good to know....what That there won't be a 2nd print? Perhaps its time to put the bottle down and get some sleep.
  16. No that Viperdays fellow said the print run would be 50,000 and he had 1% of the total already purchased = 500. Not you Ryan. You on the Bourbon again? What time is it at your joint?
  17. 50,000 - you sir are having a Giraffe! And you claim to have ordered 1% of the print run? I hope your 500 copies are all 9.8's and smell of roses. If its above 15k I will be amazed. Just because we have ordered some means nothing. 2 or 3 store in the major cities in OZ will order their usual 3 or 4 and see where it goes. I imagine the same for the USA. There are a fair few cowboy/sci-fi titles around, so the impact of another one will be minimal. If Image get extra requests for copies, sure maybe a 8,000 second print. Our total on here had reached 533, and if this new guy is genuine, then we have cracked the 1,000 mark. So we have pre-ordered 2% of the run @50,000 or 17% at 15,000. Either way, theres a lot left for the general public. We are less than 0.5% of the comic consumer population at best on here (I completely made that up btw) so there are a lot of people out there that are only going to grab one because the cover rocks. If its a pile of dufuss then it will bomb. If its good, then I'll have my slabs ready to sell - just like Bedlam. Saga's print run won't be the opening run number for many comics this decade, let alone this year.
  18. Oh can I officially nickname Miso as "Horny" from now on?
  19. But sadly true. I said to Miso earlier, that this will see if the cg theory of TV shows making higher secondary market prices is exclusively true. A very suprising book to try it out on though. I expected ToT to be the one to be disavowed by TV land, not Chew.
  20. I doubt that Chew will ever need a second print after todays news.
