  1. There are some #1 - 2nd prints in All-star here in Melbourne. I will be going in later this week if anyone wants them - I will get them 4 you.
  2. Yeah - #61 will fade away but its already been overtaken by #53 and #92 anyway.
  3. $1 bin? you Andy I think Happy is an awful book and you should all sell your best copies to Mr Simpson at less than cover. (thumbs u
  4. i've never seen the specific details posted in this thread.... Its here mate - if you wanna go back page by page,be my guest.
  5. This was confirmed ages ago! Beachbum and myself posted it some months ago,as did Mr Simpson. I got told it was HBO - whatever. I was tipped off by an artist from a different comic, who knew about it,as did most of their peers. I'm suprised it took so long to hit the web tbh. I wonder how many panicked and listed Revival issues after GA Tors post and are now cancelling.. Any guess on the Raw price by Monday?
  6. Really? How the hell do you grab these bargains for us? Can you get me a Deadpool #1 variant? It's a new issue so I want it! Bedlam's sold out! Dammit to hell. I don't suppose you could look in the 'back room' and see if you have missed a 1000 or two? Cause i really, really want to give you $30 for something that you can print for 25c and sell to the sheeples for heaps! Yay..we love Larry!! Actually Larry - I totally respect you 100% - no bull. The old adage - fools and their money etc. You aren't the fool. Enjoy! (thumbs u (thumbs u
  7. Maybe - but those 2 buyers off gators pull list won't get to see it.
  8. Are these tears only made up of 1's and 0's...?
  9. Agreed - bidders are bidding. They will look smart if this goes banana's or stupid if it goes down $30 next week. Their money - their choice. Clever seller - and that's the point frequently missed.
  10. Good man. If everyone did this then no spoilers are needed. And torrent peeps, like myself, can enjoy our widescreen moments when its on TV in our hemisphere. Hooray! I've become Ghandi and created world peace. Now can everyone kindly shut the fluk up and enjoy the show. Huzzah!
  11. Why - some wannabe secured a few decent actor to be in a film that may sink without trace. They have already said they are NOT doing 'Happy' next - theres a post in this thread confirming that. Never speculate on a mini - unless you ordered too many for your shop. This: Hmm, according to this, we'll have to sit on Happy! a little longer than that: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/rza-direct-genghis-khan-biopic-376173 At least one more project, if not two, before we get to the horse. Any word on this becoming an on-going, or still a mini?
  12. If you buy now - it's either spend a heap to get a good page or just find the cheapest left so that you will always have 1 page regardless. I have 1 splash double page and the 2 armed Rick (after 1 was cut off). Thats all I need, any more would be 'put away' due to wall space - and thats not doing any WD art work justice
  13. + 1 on tyreese being the big black dude - didn't look like his body language was saying he was too thilled with the gov's antics. For those in the UK - Isohunt.com has a torrent up within 3 hrs of the show being on AMC Why wait for a week?
  14. Is that the rare upside down variant?
  15. I agree - and I think he may be something to do with the introduction of a military unit... He was a sergeant in the comic yes? Michelle Rodriguez could play Rosita for mine...she loves the sci-fi horror stuff anyway (Bloodrayne,Avatar and Resident Evil). I've stashed a few away, and may grab a few more in time, but I am reluctant to hold more than 50 in case it doesn't go according to plan.Same as Nagan. I think we can all agree #92 will command much higher prices in 12 - 18 months time, esp 9.8.
  16. Certainly. Your points are that you know how to make a list of things to look out for having the hindsight of two books which are already insanely popular. There's certainly no arguing with that, but there are many, many books that fit your criteria that will never ever go anywhere. Many books that I loved, but didn't catch on. Your list is definitely more equipped for quick flips, but that's not the only side of speculation. There is a long term aspect too, which I reserve for books like those Tec books and books like Scalped #1 that I've scooped out of back issue bins at $3 for the last few years. As someone else pointed out, you are only looking at the low sales. Personally, I've moved copies of 871 and 873 at $20 - 25 with no problem. You just have to watch the availability on the market and sell at the right time. In fact, I'm not interested in selling them at those prices anymore because I think of the book as more of a long term book. Is this a quick flipper in the sense that it's the hot new thing? No, but I'm holding for the longer term. Not really quite a stash. I have probably a few of each left. What I've sold has more than paid for what I have left. Oh, I've done that as well, except they cost me $2.99. (thumbs u I only buy and flip books that I like. Sometimes, it's a quick flip, sometimes it's a book I don't mind holding for the longer term or forever if needs be (My hoard of Proof #1s have more than been paid for by the Proofs I've sold and I'm fine to hold onto them forever). You too. The same Scalped that is selling for $200+ in 9.8? You've done well there - It's the black spine thats the problem isn't it, along with a flaw highlighting dark cover. I have been grabbing them as well - some are at CGC and I imagine that there will be a strong chance of a 6 month wait. However in the meantime,The Movie/series of this book moves ever closer - as if there was one book that would make a brilliant series on a reasonable budget - it's Scalped. As for TWD #92 - I'm in, I'm suprised that the 1st appearance of Jesus isn't ringing out loud and clear as the next big key. Kirkman has repeatedly said he is in it for the long haul - #92 will overtake #27 in time. In OZ we have to pay a premium on books TWD now costs $5 here btw. One I'm suprised at is #53 - I thought 1st Abraham,Rosita and Eugene would be a semi-key,especially as all 3 stuck around (2 still Rosita seems to have faded away but I think Eugene may come into it as armourer/inventor type character). What are your thoughts on #53 and #92. I can't commit to Nagan as a key as no-one knows how long he will last - but if its 20+ issues, then that will have to join the list surely? I must check his actual first appearance. Nice thread (thumbs u
  17. The difference between TWD and that Detective issue is that for TWD it's still possible to get a complete run (although it's getting tougher now). People are still trying to put them together which is why 33 2nd is worth more than the first. With Tec, people aren't putting together full runs. Maybe if they try to put together only that Snyder run, yeah. Personally, it may take a while, but I think that WILL happen. IMO, Snyder is the best Batman writer I've ever read and that Detective run is even superior to what he is doing right now on the New 52 book. And regarding the 37K, I agree with what the intelligent people in the thread said. It's not big for a Batman book. The Death in the Family books (Bats 426 - 429) still do ok and there is a HUGE print run on those comparatively. This Tec run is FAR superior to that mediocre story, IMO. To the dude who called people buffoons, it's a matter of perspective. Batman is a wildly popular character. I'd rather be sitting on copies of these Tec books at 37K in print runs than copies of nearly any Image book with a print run less than 8K. If you are sitting on all Image books with tiny print runs, you are losing out big time right now. I read ALOT of Image and alot of it is NOT good and never goes anywhere. For instance, I'd rather be sitting on these Tec books than multiple copies of the Image books 27 or Skullkickers. Wouldn't you? And those were among the more popular Image books upon launch. And in regards to "known talent," please tell me who has put out a #1 issue at less than 8K after Chew that got popular (and Layman was only slightly "known" and never popular). Kurtis Weibe - Peter Panzerfaust doesn't count because other than a one off Christmas Special for Marvel that he did, all he did was a few creator owned books from Image that weren't very good and no one read aside from me (yes, I read them all because I try alot of Image and love Riley Rossmo, but the stories were not good). Seeing as Chew and PP was what I was referring to - what now? Who has ALL this years Image titles? My points are valid wether you agree or not. Convince me that a world famous brand didn't think that 37k was too few copies. Here's Nov 2010 sales: http://www.comichron.com/monthlycomicssales/2010/2010-11.html Outsold by Buffy would make you optimistic I'm sure. I can see your point. Now the complete Runs - 871 - 881 are selling: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Batman-Detective-Comics-871-881-Complete-Scott-Snyder-Run-1st-Prints-/221132700654?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item337c893bee http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Detective-Comics-871-881-Batman-Joker-Snyder-Jock-Black-Mirror-/251170074407?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item3a7ae72f27 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DETECTIVE-COMICS-871-881-COMPLETE-SCOTT-SNYDER-RUN-1ST-PRINTS-HOT-/251167403543?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item3a7abe6e17 This last one is the best this month. But you have to divide that by 11. And bags and boards and what you paid in the first place. Getting $5.10 for a $3 comic after storage + postage after 2 years isn't what I would call hot. On it's own: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DETECTIVE-COMICS-871-1ST-PRINT-HTF-VERY-RARE-HOT-1ST-SCOTT-SNYDER-BLACK-MIRROR-/300797826811?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item4608f296fb Sold yesterday - $8. But,as you told us in a previous thread - you have been holding quite a stash for nearly 2 years, so I guess you have a vested interest. Or you could go out and buy TWD #92 1st appearance of Jesus and turn your $3.99 into $35 inside 13 months. I know which I did. Good luck with your future sales.
  18. I really wasn't sure tbh. If he's the seller - he needs to make his ad's better!
  19. I didn't know who said it,and you are right,of course. For a non-mainstream book that would be huge. However to say that 37k is 'small' is disingenous. In this case though, the numbers are such that any gain would be small and brief and not worth speculating 100 copies worth. 37,000 for Batman is small....but. DC aren't silly - if they thought they could have sold 100,000 I'm sure they would have printed them. The 3k second print speaks volumes about DC's confidence abour sales. Cheers
  20. But remember, it's not a cash grab I'm glad we are on the same wavelength mate. This will end in tears. They won't be Larrys
  21. +1 Thanks for letting a variety of shops do this Larry. Graham Crackers is in my backyard. You really believe this is how it works don't you? Larry can't do it without the others! Larry - you are truly the Pied Piper - all of Hamblin have emptied thier banks
  22. Third eye eBay store has them for $15 free shipping look at the link Rosen posted above, there's like 5 left. Just pull the trigger, Tates ain't getting these things. I'll buy 1 for my own collection. These are not for flipping. There's going to be 2000 of these at least and if they keep adding new retailers as they produce more variants, the print run will be even higher on future 'phantom' variants. If you are lucky enough to live close to one of the retailers, maybe you will get it cheaper. Otherwise you are stuck ordering from the ones that have eBay or online stores at whatever they choose to charge. If they can sell 10,000 they will print 10,000.
  23. pickycollector sold a raw NM- copy here for $75 9.2 on clink for $120 last month.
