  1. This is what happens when you try to flip non-first prints. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/360498739610?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 And whichever buffoon said this - '37,000 is a small print run' 37,000 is not a small print run FFS. In September there were only 47 comics across the whole comic industry with higher runs. And about 3500 with lower. This isn't a game to be played if you don't know the rules. Look for on-going series. Low print runs - less than 8,000 is par - the less the better. Stick with known talent. Get in early. Know the prices. Know who to get the best deals re press/sub/post Use CGC prescreen Work hard - I study the market for 1hr on workdays and 6-8 hrs on days off. Seperate comic account for $. Research, research, research. You only get out what you put in. (thumbs u Good Luck
  2. Word! The book is on the verge of a major tank.
  3. Hi all-- sorry to rehash, but does anyone else have any thoughts on this question? I'm not too familiar with GPA, but would they have this information? Ok 1) about $2000, with the right buyer a bit higher (slabbed SS) 2 - 4) $300 ish each purely due to the insanely low print run (raw) 5- 10) $500 depending on if they really ARE 9.8's. (raw) 19) $900 (SS 9.8 slabbed) 27) $450 - $550 (ss 9.8 slabbed) 11 - 50 about $35 - $45 each ave raw. This takes into account some great covers and some 'key' moments in the Prison/Woodbury arcs. Depends how good the seller is (I assume you are buying) if he knows his stuff, and writes well, photographs well and utilises completed listings and GPA, then he will get more interest than an illiterate knuckledragger with a $1.99 camera. So on the above you are looking at $5000+. You may be better off taking your time and looking for a raw #1, or a cheap 9.8, cracking it and getting it SS.Same with 19 and 27. As for the rest, look for large lots - they may take less to get rid, especially if the keys are gone. Keep the good, resale the non 9.8. However - if you want this guys set - I would advise caution. If the raw books AREN'T 9.8, you've dropped the cash and have paid top dollar for drek. Personally,I would assemble in bits and pieces slowly. CGC 9.8's can be really cheap sometimes - IF YOU PUT THE WORK IN - and by that I mean looking hours a day. I have managed before to get a #22 9.8 for $23 slabbed. It's unusual but you can. Thats a big price for that lot. But its your money so knock yourself out. Hope that helps.
  4. And a fair reply Larry - good luck with it.
  5. It's a contest between dealers who got the ghost WD and those who didn't. More variants all round. Is that it?
  6. No mine are staying in US, and the postage fee reflects that. Maybe its first come first served as I literally put my order in the first day Bedlam #1 became available?
  7. Has your shipping fee come out yet mate?
  8. Shipped already? Would seem so - states so at my Midtown acc - and the postage fee has come out my CC. To me,thats a yes?
  9. Never heard of it - has anyone actually read it and tell me the story? Ta!
  10. Just checked my CC statement - shipping charge from Midtown..... Rush to site, yup 2 boxes have shipped, got my full quota!
  11. I have been informed they are 2 different people and have no reason to doubt this info. I retract my allegation and apologise to CC19
  12. If your looking to roll the dice, then you have chosen correctly. Derpy is a fan favorite and the Double Midnight will defiantly be more sought after Derpy Midtown. However, don't discount Larry's Variant and Jetpacks Variant. The Rough Rider edition will do alright, but the really deal will be each of their covers separately. Many people will try to complete this set. Also if the mystery cover has Luna on it, that will probably outsell all other covers. I'm sorry - did you say My Little Pony has "Rough - Rider" edition?? oh my.
  13. 1st print #1's only 9.8 of course! $0.99 each? (thumbs u
  14. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=6094287&gonew=1#UNREAD I think Mike you will find that 'doosh' is Nico esq under a shill account. Hi Nico Andy, are you buying them or saying hello? Edited by ComicCollectorx19 ( 22 minutes 38 seconds ago)
  15. This is one that I wonder about, the book (to me) isn't anything spectacular - the concept, is great, but the book as a whole doesn't live up to its concept. So IF the reader base is limited, can the Show hype keep the prices driving, or is it peaking now? issue #1 was so completely underwhelming i couldn't be bothered to read #2
  16. This is one that I wonder about, the book (to me) isn't anything spectacular - the concept, is great, but the book as a whole doesn't live up to its concept. So IF the reader base is limited, can the Show hype keep the prices driving, or is it peaking now? Thats the million $ question. Prices are going up daily - and unusually there seems to be more European buyers/sellers about. I got a couple of copies from Holland. With the BBC show,I think its probably going to be UK/Europe/Asia-Pacific driven with USA catching up with the show sometime afterwards. Whats the time gap before European made shows appear on American TV? Is it weeks or months or not really much at all? The 2 big things in its favour its the tiny print-run and the fact that the shows producer worked on Sci-Fi favourites 'Torchwood' and 'Dr Who'. Thats not a bad resume to have. What do you think?
  17. Yeah - Peter Panzerfaust - it's flying. Raws $100 slabbed 9.8 now $300+ New listings of slabs are on (not sold) for over $700. Its bonkers.
  18. Well kudos where it is due. A different boardie (a modest guy so I won't say who in public - happy to via PM) did great for me. 15 copies - at cover price, then fast-tracked. If you do good by people,I find on here, they are happy to reciprocate. All copies were excellent btw.
  19. I don't like sketch covers. Never have. But I would buy that in a heartbeat. Congratulations mate - that is superb.
  20. I'm not sure 'fiasco' is the word I would use. Just seeing a lot of high-volume sellers pimping their own stock over other big-volume sellers. The covers (is it 4?) have all been uniformly great. The first issue is 48 pages. All reviews - and there are many now - give this book an excellent write up. I don't know the print run - who does - but Midtown sold out 6 weeks ago,so it won't be huge. I hope it isn't anyway. Look, we all know the big new books this year have been Revival,Saga,Peter Panzerfaust and Thief of Thieves. I see no reason why after a few great issues, that Bedlam will be the last biggie of the year. 2012 has been fantastic in that 5 great new stories have come onto the market. I would be amazed if 2013 could be better product wise than this. Just my .
  21. So it finally happened. A Friday night thread came to Moderns. And its not even Friday....oh won't someone think of the children
  22. Awesome cover. Second only to 1A, which remains my favourite cover of the last couple of years. It's just a shame it's gonna make up part of a collage cover set. As a stsndalone peice, 1A is amazing. As part of an overall bigger picture - . Although I really hope I'm wrong. So long to all the speculators / ship-jumpers moving on to Bedlam. I hope that books is great and they all make a ton of cash. I'm staying with this book for the time being. Still loving the storyline. Still loving the art. Still loving not knowing WTF is going on. Can't wait for #4 Hi mate - I think a heck of a lot of people are sticking onto Revival -I am, and I know many others are as well. Not just this but Saga,Peter Panzerfaust and The Walking Dead. Bedlam is just 'new' people will jump onto this thread when the next episode is out. I love Revival - great read! (thumbs u
  23. Kick - TV! Who is Rick now? Don't recognise him anymore - and thats awesome - getting badazz like the comic. Carl - you rock This is one of the top 3 episodes. Well done Hurd et al.
