The Joker movie was released and marketed as a drama NOT just ANOTHER superhero film. I think that had a lot to do with its success critically and industry wise, leading to a healthy box-office.
The Joker was a hit, simply because it was an excellent movie. A truly great film, regardless of genre.

Got to speaking with the clerk and they explained what the shop did.
They cleaned out residences of people who were recently deceased on behalf of family members that are not able to come in from out-of-state to handle such things.
Then the shop would determine what to donate and what to consign on behalf of the out-of-state family.
They charged the family 15% of the total sale price for doing this.
They list the high dollar items (purses, jewelry, vintage clothing, etc...) on eBay and the remainder in-store.
Learning this actually made me sad that someone had passed away with no one wanting to handle their comic collection.
That their ASM #1 ended up in my hands for only $2.
If you were that sad you could have mailed them a chq for a couple of hundred bucks.
If I buy a collection and find a big key in it after I buy it and the price is way under - I always, ALWAYS, send some extra cash their way.
Pretty ordinary boasting that you got a $2-3000 book from an unknowing commission agent from a deceased estate for $2.
Sending that extra $250 could have added a bit more dignity to the funeral - or even put some food on someones table.
You come across as a bit of a cockwomble to be perfectly frank.

Ebay Australia just introduced GST without notice.
I just saw it for the first time on a guys multiple purchase today.
The buyer pays.
I worked out it is only added to 'Brand new' designated items.
100% certain that every seller will now list 'As new' with the description "still sealed in original packing - never opened".
Buyers will gravitate to "As new" - with no GST, rather than "Brand New" with GST that the buyer pays.
It would seem eBay Australia isn't going to tackle tax on sellers, but whack buyers with GST.
Taxing Sellers won't work as receipts just aren't a thing here, and there aren't that many who (in relation to USA / UK for example) sell full time for a living exclusively on used products. It's mostly Moms and Pops clearing out the garage.
I think it's aimed at People who sell cars and whitegoods full time.
The buyer affected got back to me........
Hello,
Finally got a help chat.
looks like the site glitched over the weekend and domestic purchases were charged GST, they are looking into it.
cheers -

Legend of Batman x 90 normal size
Massive limited edition hardbacks x 8 &TPB's and more New 52 comics (like buses apparently)
$600 AUD - and that's fine as Legend of Batman sell for $40 each here in Australia.

I'm still trying to keep the sigs on the 1st 'comic' appearance, but it can be hard.
This book had comic panels in - and Barbara Steele on the cover.
It's very very hard living in Australia for SS book as I have to buy sight unseen from ebay USA unless I buy a slabbed 9.8
For this book - couldn't find better unfortunately.
The sig more than makes up for it.
Love The Thing movie (1951 B+W one was better but a different sort of film) - I'm not going to try to find a Kurt Russell op - I think it's perfect as is.
Big shout-out to Tristan P again for all his hard work

$100
Batman is the best run (bottom left just out of shot!) - plus 16 Lenticular covers.
These are all absolutely mint. Unread and stored direct from purchase from the guys LCS.
There was also Pacific Comics Groo 1-8 as well, which pays for the lot.

Unchecking the box will enable full price items to combine, or allow you to request an invoice. It will have no effect on forced payment offers.
The seller unchecks it.
The seller.
Not the buyer.
If you sell stuff and want to stop this issue for buyers - uncheck the box.
It literally tells you that in black and white.
And I'm out.

Where would I find this option? I tried to find this on one of my buy it nows and I can't for the life of me find it.
When you list an item, it's under the price at the very bottom of your listing.

That option was there for years, this is something new. There is a thread about it on the eBay chat boards under selling. I just posted there.
From the link above...
It's up to sellers to opt out, or you to ask them to. If sellers uncheck the box, this becomes a non-issue.

I may be wrong, but I'm assuming you may have missed the four-season Young Justice TV/streaming series. The third Blue Beetle is actually quite popular as part of the series. Along with a comic book fanbase compared to the first two versions.
Not just missed it Bosco - never heard of it.
Thanks though.

Apparently this is something new...because people were not paying. eBay has decided to require immediate payment on everything, using your saved credit card (or other saved payment method. She said that sellers have been begging for this...buyers apparently don't count.
I told her that I pay immediately when I buy from a store but that it would be NICE to know that there was a change. Then I was thinking...most stores don't charge my card until the item ships.
The good thing is ...I have enough nail polish strips, so I don't mind quitting shopping on there, or at least I KNOW now that there will be an immediate charge if I do decide to bid on an auction.
I pretty much stopped selling on eBay a few years ago, but for those of you who shop there and sell there, I thought you might like to know the change.
Nah, we haven't - and I sell 1500+ items per year.
There is an opt-out somewhere.
Buyers still ask me to send a final total invoice so at least some aren't getting clobbered instantly.
It's been in Australia for 3 months roughly - the ones getting whacked are the people who buy multiple items at full price - they get hit with individual prices inc postage on each one.
Buyers are on it though - if you provide the 'make offer' function as a seller - most people buying now use that and wait for an invoice to stop the instant $$ deduction.
I think it's just about 'persuading' sellers to switch to 'make offer' and ebay getting fees on extra postage charges.
I've been looking for another platform to sell on - the long awaited 'ebay competitor'.
Still waiting - when someone does design it, and offers better fees and functions, ebay will die in 6 months.
However at the moment - there isn't any alternative to a platform that reaches out to 100's of millions of buyers worldwide. So I, like most, will stay.
PS: There is defo an opt out. I just got an invoice request to combine postage on 3 items sold at full price.

What was the thought process choosing this character for a big $$$$ movie?
Beside the Charlton Comics Blue Beetle - hadn't heard of this guy.
I don't know which demographic they hope to attract - just seems like a generic teen production with the handsome lead guy.
It's not like the movie marketplace is short of teenage targeted films, so I have no idea why they chose to go with this.
What's the loss potential on this?
$100m?
$200m?
I'd rather they (Comic Movie makers) just released 2 really really good movies a year, rather than 5 or 6 bad ones.

Googling now.
She was younger and under an alias, not Bennet or Wang. Deffo her though.
Only saw a few secs as obviously her 'team' has worked hard to scrub it - about 10 / 11 yrs ago it was made. Didn't save a link, and I couldn't find one in a very brief search.

Gotta keep this on the front page. I'm onto Season 5 and I'm at the 'Quake: Destroyer of Worlds' nickname portion of the show. Continues to be awesome, and WOW - the Kree are diiiiiiiiiiiiiicks.
Also, was surprised to hear the concept of the Multiverse was mentioned in one of the earlier episodes.
After news of the actress might (did) pose for a naughty film,It seems that her career faded.
Shame because Quake had potential as a spin-off

I remember watching the animated Watchmen some years back (it's all on youtube if you want to watch it) and whilst limited in $$$ in production, was very enjoyable.
I did feel sorry for the actor who had to do everyone's voice though!
I think I preferred the ending too in all honesty.
If they do more Watchmen - they had better get it right, as the bar has been set very high indeed.

Does anyone know the 1st app of Captain Christoper Pike (Star Trek TOS NOT the modern shows with Anson Mount) in Comics?
Is it Star Trek Annual #1 from 1985?
It's not on the label, but some websites suggest it's this book.
Thanks guys (and gals)

Hang on to your hat.
The sequel is in song only with Phoenix and Lady Gaga - I kid you not.Very little speech, mainly in song.
This will either be award-winning, never the likes of seen before, box office smash OR a complete train wreck that finishes DC's movie empire forever.
