  1. Well the ratings were incredible. In fact Fear the Walking Dead became the No. 1 rated cable series launch of all time with 10.1 million viewers, including 6.3 million adults between the ages of 18-49. The previous record in the 18-49 demo was Better Call Saul with 4.4 million viewers. The show will most likely become a hit. Season 1 will be 6 episodes which is the same as Season 1 of the Walking Dead. Fear has already been renewed for season 2 which will consist of 16 episodes. This is great news guys. The Walkind Dead is hot and will remain hot for a long time. 10 million people watching the first episode is huge and who knows if this show takes off don't be surprised to see a third show. Fair enough Ray - FTR, I watch Walking Dead religiously and started reading the comics probably from 2006 iirc. I quite like the product. I even enjoyed the slow season 2! But the dialogue just felt, I dunno, contrived, and written in a hurry. It certainly wasn't at the standard of the Original show. I'll certainly watch next week - but I'd also ask the question - if this was not made by Kirkman, and instead some other company, would people still be so optimistic about an upturn in this show? Certainly not a hater - but very disappointed at how it started. Happy to see it improve. International media responses are interesting. Forgive the link to this rag masquerading as a newspaper, but it combined a few sources.... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-3209075/Fear-Walking-Dead-kicks-zombie-pace-fails-impress-critics-plodding-episode.html Lets see where we are in a weeks time!
  2. Seems people were watching 2 different shows by the reviews. Very disappointing. The -script was very poor, and other than the last 5 minutes was an utter snore-fest. Thank god it's a mini-series. Cannot get over how bad the -script and actors were. Was there a rule in place where they could only utter 6 or 7 word sentences? 3/10 - for the last 5 minutes.....
  3. That thing hanging on that door, is that a large piece of dried up human skin ala buffalo bill from silence of the lambs? Its a 'demon' backpiece from 'Buffy'. There is a spandex suit on the flip side for the actor to wear. The hump would then 'protrude' out of his normal clothing. Made of heavy duty latex - kinda fun. Thanks for all the kind words above - yes, it's a bit bright, but hey, comics and stuff aren't exactly monochrome!
  4. Since techtre2003 has taken themselves off the list and I am next AND Randy is not too far from me how about I get him? If I read Kav correctly? I took myself off a few pages back.
  5. Still things to be added - some more books, desk and Wi-Fi - but 80 - 90% done. Props are screen-used from Stargate SG-1, Planet of The Apes, Buffy, Battlefield Earth, Grinch etc etc.
  6. Take me off the list - (I think I was after Roy, so now you) - the Kraven thing is slow enough as it is, and posting to Australia is the last thing needed.
  7. Is that the fee on ebay USA? I'm not a power seller since it takes me forever to ship books but I have a store so it's 9% to ebay and 2.9% to PayPal. If you don't have a store its 10% to ebay and 2.9% to PayPal. Thanks for the info.
  8. Keep us posted - I love seeing a goal get achieved. Good Luck!
  9. Congrats - I was hoping you would keep us informed! How many left to go Silver?
  10. In the Herald Sun in Melbourne - equally as awesome reviews! "But these characters are so glum and charmless, only their misery at being turned into freaks impresses us, and not for long" "Performances are lacklustre. Dumb, cringeworthy rubbish" "Worst film of the year" 1 star. Reviewer Nick Dent, print director, Time Out Australia, via the Sunday Herald Sun. I doubt there will be long lines at local cinemas then - Australia won't be contributing too much to the FF's income after that mauling!
  11. Let me know if you need help. I need to get more into this. My wife is on my back to some sort of return on all that stuff I have in my comic cave. She works a second job, so I guess I should too. I think scanning is the most tedious part, particularly on my home scanner. Slow... So true. Once the ebay template is set, then I can get going quite briskly, but its naming each scan to upload that causes me the most grief - nothing can slip out of order, or it gets slowed right down.List the wrong pic once and the whole system crashes (well it does for me!) I did go and buy a new Brother J65200w legal-size scanner - super quick and luckily on heavily reduced end of financial year sale - only $190 AUD brand-new. Not many people want legal size. I think that's the key - a quick scanner, and rigid organisational systems. I've still a very daunting task when you have literally a thousand plus to list - I seriously have no idea how Chip does it every week. I'm over it already!
  12. Absolutely fanTAStic!!! Killer score! Thanks Chip - as I said in our PM, and it's worth repeating, I'm listing 60 - 70 per day and I'm done already. How you list thousands and thousands per year is beyond me. It's incredibly hard work, so hats off to you Chip. Thanks for the kind words mate. (and change yer name back!!)
  13. Cool Haul. When I first glanced at that picture I thought "someone has gotten into my house" and then "nope, wrong furniture and I'm still alive", but dang someone had darn near the same as part of my collection. 141? I had wondered how many were in the set, never really counted mine. Are these the ones that came with the collectible cards? I think mine are still in shrink wrap with the cards..I think. It's been too many years. I'll have to dig them out soon. Yeah - 141 was the total when you added the extra Gladstone books (Like Gyro etc) - I think the first 6 or 7 (don't quote me) had random cards (ie not every issue had one) but people complained and from then on every book had the same card. Luckily all the cards are here as well.
  14. Local deceased estate sale... Probably about 40% of them. Huge tub of the complete set of Carl Barks Library in mint (still in mailers) condition plus another 3 full tubs. Lots of Wogan, W.C.Publishing, Whitman and Gold Key from 1950's - 1970's - loads of Gladstone moderns (1980-85) as well. The Barks Library complete set is a fantastic find - all 141 are there. All still in original mailers. Probably the best haul I've ever found.
  15. I'd be amazed if there wasn't an Ant-Man #2 What better vehicle to introduce Giant Man and The Wasp (properly, as in action) And then add them to the Avengers roster. Seems to be a sensible move
  16. Most of them are 2nd prints that sold cheaply (but I only had a quick glance - and ebay Australia doesn't show items that sellers won't ship abroad) so you may be looking at 2nd print sales. Dunno. First prints certainly seem to be going from $15 - $25 each - unless they are by auction in which case they seem to be lower (supply/demand etc) Slabs of #127 (9.8) - prices seem to be all over the place. I never slabbed any so I can't comment on CGC sales - perhaps the cheaper ones have been hoovered up, as the ones I can see (excluding ones who won't sell to Australia) seem to be around the $100 asking price. It may be different on ebay USA, but I haven't looked. It should be a book that appreciates - but maybe it will take another 20 or 30 issues before punters realise that this whole new era started with #127. Or it may just go back to being a $5 book. Eventually, the market will decide I guess. Good Luck!
  17. It's probably under-appreciated atm tbh. The book that pushed things forward a few years and set up the new society that is now the new 'Walking Dead World' Without it, there wouldn't be stable trade routes, co-operation, fishing, and of course new characters and threats. Outside of #1-3 and #19 (possibly #92 if Jesus sticks around) - then #127 and #132 might be the next biggest keys. Certainly with time #27 and #53 are losing their 'status' - and first apps like Tyreese are already forgotten by most. #132 may be a fizzer if Alpha gets whacked in the next 10 episodes, but #127 will always be the book that advanced the entire Walking Dead Universe to a new place. I agree. Issue #127 seems like a winner long term but I think #27 and #53 are and will remain bigger long term but who knows. If Magna and Zombie Bernie become big players, the sky is the limit. (thumbs u In hindsight, you are probably right about #27. I dunno about Abe - great character that was killed off way too soon imho. It will probably come down to how long he lasts on the TV show. Although he lasted nearly 40 issues (?) in the book - there is no guarantee he won't die in the first one or two episodes of the TV series - and in all truth, the real $ spike in #53 came when he appeared on screen. Always regret selling my copy

  19. Jeff is a seriously decent, honest boardie - I doubt very much if he is being underhand about anything. I'm guessing it's a simple misunderstanding -he will probably be at a con this weekend anyway, so there may be a delay in response. And yes, he now does 99% of his sales via consignment. I'd go with 'miscommunication' I'm also sure he will bend over backwards to make things right between both of you. I hope you get your book (thumbs u
  20. I think ebay has spoken about which book is getting the heat. #132 is selling everywhere. There isn't a single copy left for sale in Australia After both Robert and Shawn Kirkman both publically stated in the comic and online, that Alpha was first seen in #132, that CGC has any choice but to label that issue as the first appearance of Alpha. It was a big print run issue, so I can see demand being less than supply unless Alpha keeps on going and does something else........
