  1. Why those two - I'm genuinely interested. I went with Rick as Kirkman seems to be making Rick appear physically weaker in the last 10 issues. Maybe I was reading too much into that?
  2. I doubt Beta will last long - looking at the cover to #157 it seems Negan and Alpha are getting really cosy. I'm guessing Beta gets bumped off by Negan, therby proving he's a worthy No 2. Kirkman introduces new characters on a regular basis - #92 - Jesus #100 - Negan #108 Ezekiel #127 - Magna and crew #132 Alpha #156 - Beta Some last for a long time, others not for long. I think Beta will be quite short lived. I think TWD is going to unveil some HUGE changes, with a major character getting bumped, opening the way for a new 50+ issue 'hero' character. It's time for Rick to die very soon.....
  3. Good for you - hope it works out well for you, and you get a period of stable employment for some years to come. Well Done Gabe.
  4. Having seen some online in OZ, their grading is loose, and the companies owner sells his own slabbed books himself. I would be very wary on buying a HALO slab tbh.
  5. It's certainly generating discussion that's for sure. I hope, as others have said, that the info doesn't 'leak' out. Upon further thought... I don't think it can be Abe, as the Abe/Sasha romance still has more to be played out. Daryl has unresolved issues with Dwight. The Walking Dead is essentially Carls story, so I think he is safe. A minor character like Eugene or Rosita would be an absolute cop-out and a complete anti-climax, so.... That leaves Rick, Michonne (and maybe killing off the major Afro-American character might be inappropriate) or Maggie.... That's why I feel Maggie may just be the one. Maybe.
  6. Solid episode with great suspense. I enjoyed it. Just a thought - maybe Andrew Lincoln does know the outcome? Suppose they kill Maggie (and Glenns unborn child) - the snuffing out of the future which was the whole point of their fighting so hard for Alexandria? (making AL sick to his stomach) - how much rage would be generated then! Now THAT would be a hell of a start to season 7...... and give the show the 'omg' factor which some seem to think its lacking.
  7. So what happened to these interviews? No job still?
  8. Sweet,sweet low grade GA mega-key - 1st LEX LUTHOR! Really,really happy!
  9. Well Banshee was brilliant - and seeing Banshee is home to an Indian Casino, Scalped seems to be in safe hands. Great comic, very similar to Banshee in some ways (violent, heaps of sex) but features a lot of drugs whereas Banshee did not. A very promising start.
  10. I'm surprised more people haven't collected the 'trinity' (IMHO) of Ellis works. For me Planetary, Transmetropolitan and Stormwatch are 3 'must haves'. Planetary - easy to find 9.8, and at less than $100 for a slab on ebay, cheap as chips. 43 x 9.8 and a solitary 9.9 Transmet - much harder, probably because so well read! I hit 2 out of 3 9.8's, but was lucky as I found a great seller on ebay who had a couple. Prices fluctuate but is a consistent $300 book. Its important to note that Helix produced the 1st print. Only 18 9.8's on census. I'm amazed this book isn't more sought after (and no, I don't have one for sale!) Now Stormwatch #37 by Image. 2 yes TWO 9.8's. That's it. That's why this slab is so praised. You just can't find a raw that people want to part with. IMHO, it's a $500 book, and god forbid this title ever hits a bit of media heat...look out Walking Dead #1. So congrats again - only 2 on the census!
  11. I sold a few of my bigger comics and wanted to buy some this time at a better price unlike the other times. WTF!?? You "wanted" them! You wanted, you took, and then instead of taking any spare cash you had and saving it or using it to get a job, you spent it on expensive luxuries and then handed your bills to your fellow Canadians to pay. Congratulations. And THAT right there is YOUR own personal "cycle of poverty" that began and will continue with YOU and only you. Own it - your poverty and your lack of a job is all yours (along with a Tec 359 you didn't pay for - enjoy getting what you "want" for free) As I said to you long ago - Poverty and welfare have almost nothing to do with lack of money - in almost all cases, it's the consequences of one's continual string of bad choices. The truth is - you're choosing to remain poor and on welfare. There is no "cycle" - there is only a straight line path to perpetual poverty made by you hour by your, and day after day. Hell, even if you GOT a job tomorrow and could actually keep it, your habits, choices and character you show off in this thread means you'll be probably living paycheck-to-paycheck (or welfare-check to welfare-check) for the rest of your life because of stupid mess like this. This is like an addiction for you isn't it? It's like you're just incapable of just not buying luxuries (like expensive comics). Stop. Just stop. Unbelievable. I have a problem with gambling if that's what you mean and I'm not sure how you stop it. When I went to get welfare I had 200 dollars left over the funny thing is people gave me money to hold onto and I never spent it because it's theirs not mine. My decisions get me into a lot of trouble and I do need to change what I'm doing so I have a therapist in training helping me. If you are gambling whilst on welfare, you are in big trouble. That is madness.
  12. http://ca.indeed.com/jobs-in-Niagara-Falls,-ON This week 2282 jobs WHERE YOU LIVE. I bet you didn't apply at Walmart for the stacker job. Bet you didn't. This week - server job pays over $14 an hour. If you can get a bus to a comic con, you can go apply for these jobs. Or do you intend the rest of Canada to pay for your comic japers?
  13. Very well done Sir! Congrats - after running WTB ads and looking for years - that's one hell of an achievement. I'm amazed this book isn't selling for waay more - it's as hard to find in 9.8 as it gets. Again, congrats, that's quite an achievement
  14. yeah I think I see a sub-mariner comic as well. Actually, I believe that's a copy of the Jaguar #1, published by Archie. It looks an awful lot like my old copy from that angle! Correct! It is AOTJ #1 CGC 5.5 Worthless, but such a cool cover! Thanks for the link to the gumball machine - it's identical so it appears to be a modern repro. Still happy to get it, as the Disney books cover the entire purchase price, and then some. Postage here would be a killer. Just needs a clean, and in go some lollies! Thanks for the link - much appreciated
  15. Recent find at auction - 41 Australian Disney Books from 1950's and 1960's plus this all for $60 in total. A metal and glass gum dispenser. Missing one small part but complete apart from that. Auctioneers says 1950's. I have no clue, so if anyone can give me a definitive date, that would be swell.
  16. http://ca.indeed.com/jobs-in-Niagara-Falls,-ON This week there are 2221 jobs in the Niagara falls area. Walmart are still looking for shelf-stackers. Good entry level job to start at?
  17. No I'm going to get my resume checked over on Wednesday. What time on Wednesday? 11pm-12noon 13 hours? That'll get it done! Seriously though, something else you've skipped over repeatedly in the last few days is the fact that you only put in 2 hours worth of effort per day PER WEEK into getting a job. Are you going to change this, because everyone here has told you that it nowhere near enough effort.
  18. Not many do but you have to grit your teeth and push through it to get somewhere better. You have to learn to keep your emotions in check. That's true I do want to go somewhere better later on but I need any job but construction right now. I'll this as you somehow missed it...... http://ca.indeed.com/jobs-in-Niagara-Falls,-ON Currently 2181 jobs being advertised in Niagra Falls, including Night Stacker, Cleaner, Fast-Food. Those 3 are all entry level. Seems pretty easy to find an entry level job if you actually want one. No I didn't miss it but that made me angry most of those results weren't even in my area and if it's as easy as you said I'd already have a job. So now you won't get a job because they are too far away? No buses in Niagra?

  21. And again, after a gazillion posts, multiple offers of great advice and help, the basic point is being missed by a million miles - quit taking the out of the benefit system by doing $1000+ comic 'trades' and.... Get.A.Bloody.Job. I am flat out going to call BS on the claim that even with a minimal effort of 2 hours a week looking, you cannot find a job washing cars, clearing tables or flipping burgers. You either are economical with the truth about trying or have something very, very bad on record somewhere. You live in a modern affluent country, with every resource available to you for free - case worker being a great example. Instead of posting on here - go pound the streets, walk into a factory, burger joint or Walmart and ask to speak to the manager. Offer to work for free for a fortnight on trial (you are on welfare - no loss) and if you do it right, you get a job. Question for you. When did you last hold down a job? Full time work for 3 months. Genuine question.
  22. Thanks - the first was full of (as far as I know) mostly drek - some Phantoms, and some MAD mags were the best. I need to look at ebay to see what's what. May be some time! Thanks for the kind words!
  23. having a ball...cheeky! Class act with the dollars Andy, now get sorting! Thanks Jimmers!
  24. I had an email in response to my 'wanted to buy' ad some months ago, politely responded and was told they'd get back to me, when ready to dispose of some comics. That was 3 months ago. I got another mail this morning asking if I'd like to come and look at some books their son had left before going overseas to be with a 'friend'. So my wife and I arrive in a leafy respectable suburb, and knock on the door, to be greeted by a lovely couple in their Eighties! They show me the comics, and tell me I can have them, as I had been 'polite and helpful' earlier. Rough maths put the son in his 50's - apparently he had gone to Thailand to live with "that thing" (not my words) who had, "you know, both bits" It would seem that their son had created a bit of a scandal by doing this, and they were effectively disposing of everything in their house of his. He'd lived there all his life (the coffee and biscuits had come out by now), and him going off to Thailand to live with his, as we say in Australia, mail-order-bride (with a bonus surprise), had been the last straw. It would seem working had not been high on his priorities either. So, 2840 comics, including most New 52 runs were given to us. They would accept no payment, and offered to throw in his TV as well (I declined) After leaving, I stuffed all the money we had on us, $260, under their front door and drove off into the distance..... These were in the first couple of boxes.Full runs of all new 52 - except Harley Quinn. No complaints... You can have your Craigslist - we have Gumtree! And to you Sir, in Thailand, I hope you are having a ball!
