Divad, you do realize that he got the Avengers the next day, right? And are you *actually* trying to tell us that these two things are equivalent and that somehow TFL is going to escape "the list". This whole "he was mean to me, so now I don't have to pay" excuse would NEVER fly anywhere else - try that with a bank manager sometime. It's just bizarre equating the two, especially since TFL has the Avengers book and Filter is out $25K on the HT sale. If you have any personal dealings or friendship with TFL, I think you'd better state it now, or I think it's time to organize a coup. Not at all Vince. He's on the list. No one equated the two acts. I didn't endorse either buyer or seller's behavior. And beside, you know you are my best friend on the boards. My comments were non-judgmental, as I seriously doubt the veracity and motivation of both parties. Would I have waited 5 months without payment? No. Would I have held $26,000 worth of books for a deadbeat? No. Doesn't anything sound wrong to you? You can monitor the list any freakin' time you want.

I hope it isn't one of my threads. I check GPA the day I post books and use both the 12 month GPA and last sale columns to go off of and try to stay below both of those prices. Brian Brian, I am fairly certain that Michael is not referring to your sales thread. David

I am troubled by the statements made on both sides of the coin . . . by both buyer and seller. I am also troubled by the rush to judgment and pontification of my fellow Board members who are at best, making judgments based on an absence of information. I think foolkiller (as usual) has made the best analysis. I am disturbed by the buyer's delays in making promised payments, but I am also disturbed by the seller's withholding delivery of the first book that was paid for. There are statements made by both parties that don't quite ring true to me. Suffice to say, that at the total value of this transaction, the contract and payment terms should have been laid out with greater care. I recently did a time payments transaction for a high dollar book (well, for both of us) that went without a hitch. I allowed the buyer to present the terms, and then I evaluated whether or not to accept them. After some thought, I accepted clear concrete terms. The buyer exceeded the terms and completed payment well in advance of the promised date. I suppose a poll is the only way to resolve this issue, as I think the reputations of both parties have suffered already. I will set one up later tonight or tomorrow.

This is not an endorsement, but simply recognition that he has made the necessary efforts to resolve his conflicts with other Board members. A running history is contained within this thread. So ... you want people to read through 219 pages of posts in order to check if someone has been on the probation list & then subsequently removed again? No, I don't. Well you will if you want to know the info... I personally think that once a buyer/seller is off the main list then they stay off until they're in violation again.. Keeping a running historical list does nothing but give the person a continual black eye even after making things right. At it's purest, the probation list is a punitive measure to try to coerce someone to fix a bad deal. Keeping people on the list serves no incentive for someone to fix a situation...
