Decided to resub a competitor's book. For this particular one, I wanted it to be in a CGC slab to match my Venus 18 (which it sits next to on the wall). She's low grade, and has a crapload of tape on it. It was graded as a 1.8 with the following notes:

Notes:

Off-White
cover reattached with 3 pieces of tape on interior, moderate amount of tape on cover & interior cover
vertical large stain through book with small color loss front cover
moderate creasing to cover breaks color front cover
small pieces missing spine & left edge back cover, tears to cover edges

I've got fingers and toes crossed, this comes back to me as a 1.8, but I am skeptical, only because I think CGC really hammers tape and I feel it's possible to get this back as a 1.5 (hope not). Thoughts anyone?

Good luck, did the same with a recent  book. Hoping for at least .5 bump.

It's not rare, but it is scarce.  I don't generally see that issue available, but when I do it's typically very low grade.  I wouldn't expect to see a 0.5 on the census unless it was a tough issue (13 total census).  The census may be wrong too, however.  Early on, CGC didn't label the Approved Comics correctly.  There may be other copies lurking under the "Western Bandit Trails" title.

The first few batches will get full signature. later he will speed up the process. many will get TBagg. Send my books really early hoping it's not my batch.

So was just wondering if anybody knew about the background here?  Were other Charltons from this time found in bulk as well?

many still ungraded. There’s 3 9.6 on the CGC census. 

wonder we ever see a 9.8 copy in the future.

theres another copy CGC 5.5

I do remember seen that copy on eBay way back around 2005/6.

Yep really rare. Never seen to come up for sale. Many years ago there was a CGC 5.5 on eBay.

This prices look unreal almost very suspicious. Some of the art prices also surprised me.
