  1. Serious comic answer: The god running the show does not really care about needing eyes. Also, Doctor Fate has full control over every aspect of his being on an atomic level (literally how they described it back then), which meant he wasn't beholden to any physical limitation - he never needed to breath in that form in the early stories, it was only when DC transitioned him to the crappy half-helmet in More Fun #72 that he actually needed to breath...so crappy mob guys could knock him out with gas (up until that point all his appearances nothing could stop him, and he only once got knocked down by a laser cannon)
  2. Full making-of feature on how they create the above parody trailer is also up, and worth a watch. Amazing attention to detail creating the costumes.
  3. In case people are confused on how to watch the series
  4. Plot twist, it stays the same size while your body grows. You become the GROWER, your purple pants prevent the SHOWER!
  5. The thing is...was she a drunk, or is she just always that party personality (as we see in the end with Wong)? We can certainly read that about her character due to 'holding a drink' but what is doing the heavy lifting getting us to 'drunk' is our personal biases. I took her to be just a detached friendly person, not a messy drunk. I don't feel she came across any more a problematic drunk than any other characters in the show who we have seen spend every evening after work at a bar (the only difference is that she is a bombastic personality). Heck, compared to Tony Stark or Thor she has a far better track record as a role model with respecting government officials as well as 200% less embarrassing party antics. ...and the last thing this series needs is a heavy handed Wong-sorcery intervention for alcoholism (why would anyone want to reinforce the bogus idea it takes literal SUPERNATURAL MAGIC to beat addiction...that is a very problematic AA way of thinking and would do more harm than good)
  6. Why exactly is she a bad role model for kids exactly (seriously)? Other than perhaps coming across as oblivious, she still seems like a fun friend. Wong clearly needed a friend and she seems super nice and easy going, harmless, but is able to keep themselves together for courtrooms and surviving encounters with demons in far off dimensions. She also was the only character to actually be interested in other people, wanting to help and ask questions (and show interest in Wong's interests at the end). Are people just equating with sounding dumb with being dumb? Also she resulted in a great moment where the magician's lawyer crossed out his notes because it wasn't where he thought the Y was
  7. This would be the only thing that could make me care about Phase 5.
  8. Just so everyone is clear because lots of people are not getting it: this is PARODY VIDEO! But man, it certainly is very well done and just makes me want Firefly more.
  9. So happy they are leaning into the Universal Monsters style with this, and I really love the 'whodunnit' murder mystery plot they seem to be going with!
  10. That Captain American page 22 is one of my favourites and I've always wanted to own it...it just has everything; Fighting, shlock, crazy panel experimentation, comedy, death!
  11. At this point the marketing for this movie could just be any random picture of Fate, as him being basically the most amazing & interesting DC character adaptation ever is doing so much heavy lifting for this movies hype.
  12. I don't think you are sure about what clickbait is...this is just a tweet. There isn't an actual conversion attempt nor a CTA in it
  13. They lost it as well as another one of my books when the shipment from the LCS arrived, but once I reached out to customer support myself (cause obvious the comic store I submitted through wasn't doing anything about it) they quickly realized they lost the books and started looking - a month later they were located and quickly graded
  14. Guess what finally arrived back from over a year at CGC...I guess they really needed to hire extra graders in order to properly asses this rarity! Sexy graphics, text, inks, layout...all for a perfect epic first appearance. It's only a single page, but I'm sure it's basically one of the top historic Marvel pages of the Golden Age (outside of anything pulled from Marvel Comics #1 or Captain America #1, of course)
  15. Was much better than I was even expecting it to be. Production values were very well done and you can tell the set and props crew got the note they wanted the city to have a Robocop feel to it (shame the --script didn't get the memo on that as well). Stallone did really well in the role, and overall I think the casting was very well done. The 'twist' you do see coming a mile away (in fact, I assumed this was the case during the opening origin flashback due to how they shot and framed the characters) but still happy they went with that direction as it would have been super easy for them to just pump out a very standard superhero arc film - though unfortunately when it was finally revealed there wasn't much weight to it (would have liked a little more exposition on why Stallone felt so empty and guilty after the battle - and how his 'victory' left him with nothing else in the world, no family and no rage which was his entire drive of his life) - I do however enjoy this being a very local, smaller stakes type story and not some world ending issue. edit: for clarity I put it at an okay 6/10. I would like more street level films like this for many comic heroes, and could totally see this sort of film working for characters like Hourman.
  16. Yeah I agree there was a little weird jump with how they shifted some episodes around (I guess to get the origin right out of the way for people new to the character) - for sure could have been smoothed out better. But to be fair she was always an established attorney - she had worked hard and that was the entire crux of why she didn't want the superhero life fostered on her (she had a life she built up and got somewhere). She can still be accomplished and also STILL have to deal with crappy men all the time. Wrecking Crew was hilarious, and I say that as a fan of them for years (Thunder Ball was in the first comic I ever read)...they were D list at the best of times so honestly I see maybe their two or threes fans tops being actually disappointed about them in the show
  17. That is a pretty garbage take tbh. A woman dancing with a friend in no way means she deserves to get harassed by dudes on the street? Catcalling is being sexualized without consent while twerking is choosing to...dance. This is literally "but what was she wearing" type cry putting the blame on women again for why they are not respected or get harassed. She danced in her office with a very relevant client, not in public (and even then it would still not have justified her being sexually harassed). You can find it cringe and not like it, that's fine, but this take is one that needs to be dropped.
  18. On the one hand; more Hellboy...YAY! On the other hand; Metaverse....*barf*
  19. Not sure what everyone's issue with episode three was...it was good and was the typical courtroom/case episode I was assuming this show would get into. Sticking to the self absorbed man-baby was great. The twerking at the end was nothing, and arguably better than other instances of dancing in the MCU as this literally is taking place in a very lighthearted COMEDY series for a single second. Could the CGI be better, yes...in fact it looked most out of place on Abomination, but for a short comedy series I couldn't care less. Disney/MCU should pay the effects teams more and better treat their workers, so that is the main complaint with any bad CGI - and not that a big green lady doesn't look right for about ten minutes of screen time.
  20. I wasn't sure which Last Ronin issue I was going to buy, all I knew is that I wanted at least one graded copy of it - so big thanks to CGC for sending me this free (registry win prize) and putting an end to my cover choice dilemma
