  1. New "downgrade" Found a 0.5 locally that looks leaps and bounds better compared to my 4.5 (It was a solid 6.0-7.0 but I was told that when it was submitted for grading the owner had it pressed by someone who didn't catch it had brittle pages and so still pressed it and caused the entire spine to split). Makes for an amazing display copy though - absolutely perfect looking cover, crisp edges, no wrinkles or creases, and deep inks (especially the yellows).
  2. My expectations have been raised and I will for sure be paying to check this one out, as one of the film critics I trust over most for recommendations found it enjoyable and better than the first (and they are not comic book nerds - which I tend to avoid when it comes to review sources)
  3. Thanks. It's easy when you have a real life muse to work with
  4. Going to post another, since it would be a crime to omit this from any best-of round up. The earlier More Fun Comics cover I posted previously was my favourite super hero GA book, this is by far my favourite non-hero cover (You could tell from my board profile pic that I really like it, right?)
  5. @dinesh_s you going to post your recent acquisition here to blow everyone else's mind who didn't see it on twitter?
  6. I assume they were talking about how originally Nolan specifically said he wanted to shoot Batman as if he was the monster in a horror movie (filled with criminals rather than teenagers), but while Nolan might have came up short in that regard it seems Reeves really went all the way with that idea.
  7. Well that cinematography was certainly an absolutely bonkers amazing punch to my face. I'll take a hundred tickets, please
  8. That's it for now. Shoot me any questions or offers. I would also consider trading if you have any Adventure Comics that feature Hourman on the cover
  9. Detective Comics #77 5.0 - Slight C-1 First appearance of the Crime Doctor. I think we can all agree sub-100 tec's are were its at and getting hard to find in presentable/affordable condition. Single cheapest way to own one AND a first appearance (with cover art by Bob Kane!). Great colors and very minor restoration (there is a tear seal at the bottom centre of the book, with green color touch just below the tiny eye dropper on the table). I have this priced just above the price of a 2.5 years ago (a 6.0 recently sold for $2,280, so why buy the promise collection when the sauce dog collection looks almost as nice!) SOLD TO matthewdruker
  10. Airboy Comics #v9 #8 7.5 Second highest graded behind a lone 8.0. You know what I'm going to say, yes, the colors are great - especially the yellows and the deep purple crab. SOLD TO Markentoth
  11. First Romance #17 9.6 - File Copy Single highest graded, with solid deep blacks and a fun spicy barnyard romance cover. Sorry for all the glare SOLD TO thehumantorch
  12. I try to keep my slab collection limited to two boxes worth of comics due to space, and I've hit my limit - so I need to make storage space for some incoming books! Coming up for sale are a small handful of high grade (and one low/mid) golden age books. All graded and excellent display pieces for the prices (if I do say so myself - bright vivid inks on covers are one of my top priorities when buying books, so rest assured they'll beam with colors a rich as the day they were printed even if my photos don't do them justice). Please no hall of shamers or probies. We will ship anywhere in North America for $17 for a single graded book, if you buy multiples just add $3 per book and I'll cover the rest. All prices are in USD, and I only accept Pay Pal (or e-transfer for fellow Canadians). No returns on graded books. First timestamped gets it over any ongoing PM offers. -- CLOSED. Thank you to all those who purchased books from me. Remaining books have been pulled back into the personal collection, but anything sold will remain here for your reference --
  13. Looks amazing, but seems all this worry was misplaced due to some tricky color touch hiding there (somewhere...)
  14. Surprised these images are still up, they've been blasting these away off the internet (and the others, like Hawkman's armor) with DMCA Takedown Notices for the last few days
  15. My excitement for this is either or. Either it's based on the Graham/Roy series...and I'm excited, or it's based on the 90s Liefeld series and I'm not. We have enough standard superhero stuff right now, so give us crazy bonkers Conan-esq stories in sci-fi worlds without explanation, lots of fantastical weird non-humanoid aliens wanting sex, giant gelatinous space baby suits, and a legion of Prophets awakening with nothing but murder missions on their minds!
  16. Haha nice, didn't notice the user name haha - The Primer #2 literally arrived right after it sold, a little too late to entice you
  17. Nice, if that was mine I might honestly consider getting it conserved to re-attached the cover since it would mean a good bump in the technical grade (while still maintaining a 'blue' label). I saw the CL one just as I was haggling out a deal for another CGC 1.5, but it was bought up by someone else before we could finalize the numbers that included a key book traded towards it. Ended up going for the sellers full asking price of $5,600, guess I should have just pulled the trigger and bought it outright. oh well
  18. Tales Of Suspense 66 pending scans (also Hello! from a fellow Canadian)
