  1. Well that would explain lots I just figured I would tag the only CGC admin who replied to my initial post here - anyone have a better idea which of the members are better to tag in on this?
  2. Hi @Gemma I'm sure everyone here would love to know if label updates are still being looked at here by CGC, or if there is another place / better way for the community to submit corrections? Thanks so much for taking the time, it's much appreciated I'm hoping to have a nice Mystic Comics #5 soon that I want to get graded, but I'm doing so only because it's the 1st Appearance of the Blazing Skull but unfortunately that isn't reflected in the current label notes (and this ins't a forgotten Marvel character either so I figure its worth including)
  3. More Fun Comics #56. The very first Doctor Fate cover. and while it is certainly one of the best for that character (the other being #61) it is also one of the standout covers of the Golden Age all around - great composition, strong colors, excellent clean lines, red dressed woman in peril, fire!, it has it all (well, except Nazi's...but we got enough of that in the GA so its nice to have some alternatives without them)
  4. Pressing would 100% help, even if it only gets out some of the wrinkles it would be a noticeable improvement. Leave the tape as it is now; as removal of it would also require extra work to remove the stain it has left on the paper, and potentially need tears seals / leaf casting to close up the areas near the staples in order to keep the cover on.
  5. Pretty good - that's been the price point I've found many of those issues end up getting haggled for (I have a #61 and #70 that I bought for around that price) and I would have been happy to pay that for this issue as well
  6. Ah that was yours! I saw this on instagram while trolling through the hashtags hunting for any Doctor Fate More Fun issues Nice book - presents really well.
  7. Had this listed on the boards awhile back and it didn't sell, so figured why not just do an auction starting at $0.99 and let it price itself! AUCTION ENDS NEXT SUNDAY (June 28th) https://www.ebay.ca/itm/WEB-OF-EVIL-12-WALKING-DEAD-COVER-Golden-Age-Pre-Code-Horror-zombie/233626434712
  8. That's my dream Fate grail right there - just so perfect (so yeah, sell it to me )
  9. I'm going to say, yes. There are objective standards they grade on, but everyone doing so is going to be subjective about how they interpret each flaw. Ever send books in to get pre-screened for 9.8, have them all get rejected, only then just mail them right back again to CGC and they all get approved and graded 9.8? MAGIC
  10. As I recommend with the prior Strange Stories from Another World set fix (to include the differently titled #1, which was renamed due to copyright issues), I recommend adding: Worlds Beyond #1 (Fawcett Publications, 1951) to the Worlds of Fear set. Just like with Strange Stories from Another World, the first issue was a different name and had to be renamed for issue #2 (hence why Worlds of Fear beings with issue two). This name change is already in the CGC database, as it mentions on the slabs for Worlds Beyond #1 the note "Only issue. Becomes Worlds of Fear." Slot Created. Thank you
  11. ...to give away again to another children's hospital.
  12. Thanks - had a feeling that's all it was but I would have kicked myself if I sold it before checking
  13. Hi all, Just wanted to see if anyone can help confirm whether this marking (A12-11) on one of my GA issues is in fact a known pedigree. It reminds me of River City, or possibly Ohio.
  14. Thanks all - pretty much confirmed my hesitation on the book so will pass on getting this one graded.
  15. It looks like we are going to get several alternate future versions of Bill & Ted - that alone makes this movie have so much potential and also +1 for using the classic Orion pictures card at the start - sweet nostalgia right there!
  16. It is for my personal collection, but since there are only three issues featuring on of my favourite characters, Arsenal, and I own the other two in 9.8 grade already I though it a perfect time to strive for the specific grade for my fun set: https://comics.www.collectors-society.com/WCM/ComicCustomSetView.aspx?s=29180 I was also thinking the scuff could be removed with a little dry cleaning, so hence why I'm considering it.
  17. Looking to compete my 9.8 custom set featuring one of my favourite robotic threats - ARSENAL! Opinions on if this would make the grade?
  18. As a web designer & developer, their site makes me sad. Still verging on garbage due to the bare bones search options. In this day and age there is no excuse for a major comic site to not let us filter by era: Golden, Silver, Bronze, Copper, Modern. Heck, why not also let us see ANY pedigree (right now we are forced to select a specific pedigree, maybe I just want to see everything available). Lots of questionable UI decisions, especially with the Watch Screen (if I want to remove a watched item that has ended I can't do it from the Watch Screen...I have to click through to every items page, then open up the options drop down to remove. Active listings can be removed easily from the Watch Screen though - doesn't make sense to take away options for one group of items). Mobile experience is also a mess.
  19. The Criterion Channel has lots of the original films, and by comparison to other streaming services offer the better quality picture (and extras such as interviews)
  20. Also just finally watched the pilot - amazing start, and already feeling like a lot more love went into this show. Great translation of all the heroes costumes, even if for only a few brief moments on screen. Would really love to find a high-res image of that JSA photograph Pat has!
  21. Yeah I really want that now! but until then I'll have no shortage of games to play this month, as June's free games were just announced for Stadia...and it's their loss, but I was going to originally happily pay to buy Panzer Dragoon (even though I have the original still on my Saturn) and Get Packed. Debated buying Power Rangers just for nostalgic goofing, but free is even better.
  22. OKay, I need this issue. I love odd Donald Duck stuff, and this fits perfectly! Anyone have more information in this one (or you know, just sell me your copy if you have one)
  23. This one was the most recent comics I bought, and it was not obvious by the pictures online. It's not a big issue in this case since the comic was cheap, and already 'low' grade for what it was, but I'm sure that if it was re-graded it would not come back as 7.5 again.
  24. Also the face of the book might even point 'inwards' and be untrimmed, as I have issues that have the pages in the opposite shape direction as shown above. Just in case your book does not look like either of the above examples.
  25. I've fallen in love with Planet covers ever since I bought my first one from Rick, but do find it's overall pretty expensive to find decent presenting copies even in low-grade so have to limit my spending. I will however jump at the chance to buy cheap copies that present well, but are reduced in price due to restoration, low page quality, or even missing pages (since I'm in this just for the covers). Just bought this one for $100 and it presents so well and has great page quality. The colours are rich, and the only issue is it has some tape on the spine and some minor colour touch (though mostly over top of the tape in order to try hide it and some spots on the spine. Jury is still out if it's trimmed or not.). Worth it!
