  1. It's from a semi-local store which has yielded a couple obscure variant covers before. For instance there is about half a short box of Soulfire variants to dig through eventually, but those haven't really taken off yet.
  2. Tomb Raider from eBay; can never find the Hughes Raiders at stores. The others are local. Passed by the Uncharted a couple times until I realized it's one that doesn't show up too often. I know Lady Rawhide and Hammer of the Gods aren't major titles, but the covers were too good to pass up.
  3. There is no correlation between the numbers and rarity. They don't have anything to do with each other. That people use them because they "sound" impressive doesn't make it so. There are 1:100 books that are ultra common, and there are 1:10s that are pretty rare.
  4. 9.6....ugh; might as well just give it to me. Kidding aside, great sub.
  5. But, but, it's a newsstand! Direct is only $380.
  6. Even with the added shipping charge, *if* the books arrive in stated condition, it's a decent price. Not a steal, but not highway robbery either. However, based on this transaction, I will not do business with them again. I tried them out and learned my lesson. Perhaps others can learn from my mistake, too. Icing on the cake update: Received my order today; instead of sending me the comic pictured on the site at the time of purchase (and priced accordingly), I now have the less valuable alternate cover. #neveragain I would email them and see if they will exchange out.... Email sent last night highlighting all of the issues I had during this transaction. Waiting on a reply.

  8. Nope; it's a fakeout. It looks like it was initially at 2nC and then made it to Half Price Books -- for half the price. All 3 (and a couple more) were HPB pick ups.
  9. Not a great week at work, so this was a nice pick-me-up: Found out about this one b/c of this thread. A big thank you. I also picked up these; not sure if they are worth anything, but for $1 I'll pick up some DC Universe comics:
  10. Is that GI Joe #2 RI the one from Wheaton?

  12. As expected: Ordered 5 copies of an "in-stock" comic; getting 1. Because of this decrease in my order, my originally free shipping is now $8. Never again.
  13. Kelly is very easy to work with and ships quickly. Recommended.
  14. Order placed. Now to hope my order can be "located" in whole.
  15. Is this 60% off all comics or specific ones? Any chance of the code in a pm?
  16. That link is 3 months old, the latest update indicates W 3 will be a (loose) adaptation of OML. Your link is 7 months old
  17. I'm sure there are others if anyone else can think of any. By any odd chance, is the store Giant Robot Comics? Thanks; I'll check on those, but they seem extremely rare/specific -- especially the comic con ones. Any "normal" variants worth > $50? Went to another LCS and dug out some RI covers to check prices -- nothing good. And some Wreckers virgin covers. And no, not that store.
  18. If I knew you were looking I would have grabbed it...and then Mile High would have refunded b/c it's not in stock and jacked the price.
  19. There's a store near me with a lot of TF comics and variants. With all of the variants, publishers, and sub-stories, it's hard to quickly determine the good ones. Which are the ones I should check for next time I'm there?
  20. I like the "secret" print run because it's a secret.
