  1. Found one in Ohio. would be nice to know what the front or back comic is...i guess people are standing around moving the comics out of the way to see what's in the middle The one I found had the True Believers Planet Hulk on the front and the variant on the back. There were other Hulk's but they did not have the Fallout. All of the ones I have seen that had the Fallout had it on the front or back. Is this Fallout variant a new find or from the surge a few months ago?
  2. Do double covers not have two grades with the new case?
  3. Love when that happens! Also, I've never figured why #51 is in so much demand (granted it's a cool cover), when #50's cover totally blows it away. #50 reigns supreme for his Catwoman run IMO. Researching around online a bit, it turns out Lost fans scooped it up because of the Lost numbers on the cover. On a different note, anyone pick up the SDCC Betty and Veronica variant? You two *really* don't know why comic people like issue #51?
  4. Congrats, Bob. How local are we talking? Very local, as in LCS. I'll tell you the story when I see you at Wizard ! Nice; glad to hear it's still worth my time digging in all of those boxes. I'll be lurking in Rosemont on Thursday; standing in line to get my pre-paid pass and then standing in another line to get in.
  5. I asked my wife to bring them to the counter and buy them for me to avoid any "stigma"; she wouldn't do it. I don't mean to sound judgemental, but I don't know why anyone would want those. Not my cup of tea, either; but some of them sell for good money. To each his/her own.

  7. Is there a site with the editions pictured? What cities/events were they given out at? I would have thought -- based on this collection -- it would have been Chicago.
  8. "The Tick" in yellow font with green shadowing. Blue-line sketch of Tick and Arthur in a ship/vehicle. No. 0445
  9. Here's the deal: I am going to try and sell them somewhere at some point to make back my money and buy more stuff. But I didn't want this to be a "look what I have for sale" thread. I just wanted to show some interesting magazines and such that I picked up -- perhaps get some notes on cool magazines you see -- or stuff I should look for in the collection. If people see something they want, I wouldn't turn away a PM. Of the stuff I have, probably interested in keeping the TMNT book and the Zombies hardcover. For instance I have no idea how to look up the Zombies book; just says "Zombies" on it. I also don't know what that little book is that I have. And/or if anyone actually cares about FilmFax or Outre.
  10. Thanks for the info! How do I know which of the #12 variants I have of the 4? The Omnibus is banged up but does have a Tick sketch inside; very cool.
  11. Other pics: Definitely an interesting collection.
  12. A lot more pictures to come -- if that's ok. Also includes some non-magazine hardcovers. Some fun stuff in here. The cover price on the Crypt of Horror books is awesome.
  13. Two pictures for now: The haul (sorry, Photobucket won't let me edit and flip it): One of those short boxes is (un)fortunately all modern Godzilla comics. Unpacked one of the small boxes:
  14. Stumbled into some Tick comics recently. Looking up a few pages it looks like the lot included the red promo comic -- are there additional editions or just the one? I also found a #8 variant and a #12 variant; I found a few listings of the #8 but nothing on #12. Lastly, a copy of the gold "limited edition" Omnibus. Any info on that one?
  15. Purchased a random collection of magazines -- no keys or older stuff -- containing: Famous Monsters FilmFax FilmFax Outre Monster Scene Black Cat reprints Radition reprints etc Without older stuff and/or "keys", is there any interest? I'll try and get some pictures up.
  16. Did you sub these yourself? That is an awesome looking set.
  17. IMO the coda added "hooks" to make you think there was more to the show than there was. It seems those dangly bits are what people are talking about, so why not make them part of the actual story? Squeeze these original 8 episodes into 4 (shouldn't be a problem) and then deal with the extra mythology/questions from the coda in the back 4. A second season following this same group and story is stretching it.
  18. I guess I'll have to be the lone dissenter here. I loved the feel and look of the series, but the story did not hold up its end of the bargain. Felt like they put a lot of effort into the nostalgia/reference factor and forgot about plot.
