  1. How do I find what a buyer is currently bidding on and what he's won recently?

I tried to search "by buyer" in the Advanced Search but all it's showing me is his feedback, his collections, his followers....everything except his bidding history - including the item he just won from me.

I have a potential problem bidder so that's why I'm asking.

I believe they turned off that functionality in one of the latest "upgrades".

  2. Let's be honest here; this is probably how it will go:

    • Shark will not get his book (at least not through Lockford)
    • Lockford will go on the PL
    • Lockford doesn't care b/c he won't sell here anymore - and never has*
    • Another exclusive variant comes up
    • Lockford links/offers it here b/c why not? Money is money
    • A PL notice will be put in the thread
    • People from the boards will buy it b/c they want it (and may have a discount)
    • And the world turns

    * Except for that one time he did.

  3. Yes he did :acclaim:

The auction ended early, but I dont think anything suspect is going on. The seller just commented that he wondered how high the price would have gone had it not ended early.

We're just all in a frenzy wondering where this sketch cover came from.... And if there are more, lol

    Ahh, I get it now.

"Where it went" was in regards to where the price would have ended up, not where the actual listing went.

    Then, very cool.

Would be cooler if rh, who last I saw was active, would chime in on where it came from.

  4. Wow, nice payout on a book with that severe a misalignment (worship)

Did you grade it at 7.5?

MCS gives the grade on the books they receive. They are very strict too.

Yeah MCS gives the grade, I had it as a 9.2 but I wasn't sure how CGC would hit the misalignment. It failed a 9.6 prescreen but I thought 7.5 was pretty brutal.

And that's exactly why I don't send books to them. Strict is good but I think they're too strict.

    So you're saying it's a buyer's paradise..... hm

  5. thanks guys, I got 5 or 6 copies of the 18, but was striking out with the 17.

Only 5 or 6? Nice score. Hard to find in the wild.

For what it's worth, the last two collections I bought had both. In fact, they each had the entire run into the 90s.

Back a little before the recent craziness started, I found 2 17's at some local shows.

    After that, zilch.

Even now I can still find 18's at stores for $6 or so.

Any 17 2nd prints in there? hm

  6. I dont really consider that place a traditional flea market, because these people rent and operate small individual booths and mostly sell a bunch of wholesale stuff like Rebel Flag shirts, belts, beach towels, As Seen on TV stuff, ect. When I think of Flea market I am thinking of people bringing their stuff from home, renting a table, and selling their used stuff. These people sell wholesale stuff everyday for a living.

No, it was the Myrtle Beach Flea Market just past the 17 Business entrance to Market Common.

The North Myrtle indoor market has NOTHING of significance in it. Neither does the outdoor market in Little River. Might have to drive down to MB and check that place out. Pretty sure last time I was down there that place wasn't a flea market.

Wolf's Flea market in Palatine Il is this exact set-up. Aisles upon aisles of basically garbage, vendors offering haircuts, shelves of old CD's, DVD's, VHS tapes.....

The haircuts stall @ Wolff's is my favorite.

  7. Whhhewwww...

    5 stores

Are these really sold out everywhere? Or just 1-per-customer limits?

So I saw these on Wednesday, and thought I'll come back for it later in the week in NYC.

Came back today to three different shops all sold out.....

    Why is this so hot?

Because the board said it is. :sumo:

  8. No, 17 is the first brief appearance (one page, four panels, covered arm only) and the three other Superman titles each have their own similar page with four panels showing the progression of Doomsday breaking the wall of his prison.

Yep, agreed. Though I'm out of the loop on that 3rd title. hm

Perhaps it's b/c 17 is the first of the all-the-same-cameo?
