  1. SO...

MOS 18 is really tanking in 9.8 huh... hm

Happens all the time with comics that are plentiful -- and plentiful in high grade.

Someone notices the graded copies are selling for a nice profit (considering one could buy them raw for $3-$5 and get them graded for $25 or so).

Then the number of census copies go up and the price comes down.

Some saturation going on with 18. That said, it appears that folks are a bit more driven currently to collect the "cameo" in 17 vs. the first full appearance in 18. Same thing is happening with the unofficial first appearance of Constantine.

I believe you'll see another bump in both issues as soon as there's another announcement related to Doomsday (which is inevitable).

Also: There may be elevated prices for a "newstand" edition vs. a "direct" edition. They're more rare in high grade and apparently more desirable.

Much ado about nothing. #17 has always out-priced #18. It will eventually turn around for good. Hold your 18s and stick to your guns. Sell your 17s while the gettin' is good. ;)

What will be the catalyst that sees 18 replace 17 as the "one to own"?

It's been discussed throughout this thread - where ya been? lol 17 is a cameo app that's shared in two other titles. 18 is 1st full app and cover and unique to MOS.

Oh I know about -- and own -- the other 2 titles similar to 17.

Though I'm guessing if I know, others do, too, and nothing has changed in terms of pricing.

So AAAPPParently the ECCC excl. involved Roc hand writing eccc exclusive bearded variant on the front....

    Very rare...heh...

tempted to buy this as I can sell the regular #2 2nd prints for around 30....

Are the regular 2nd prints really going for $20+ on eBay?

mess. I saw 3-4 copies on Friday and passed. If anyone is in Chicago, the GCC off of Michigan had them when I was there. Go get 'em.

  5.

Really? Do you not leave feedback, then?

By the way, this is for issues 1-5, not just for #1.

I think the first comment was meant to be a joke. ;)

    I know. I missed it. I don't think you'll see 1-5 for $30 again anytime soon. 2c

    I get jokes...sometimes.

  6. The messages were added to the old thread that Diamonddave had already left, so the only person still in the thread (WizP) had read them.

Yep; but DD still did remove himself from the topic on 6/4 w/o saying anything about the package, or waiting for a "received and is good", etc.

  7. I wonder if certain folks here will be hammering future WD ebay listings hyping up "X" character as being on the TV show, when they're not. More likely scenario when the TV version of whoever doesn't resemble the comic version at all.

Having said that, I'd rather have Scalped 43's over Sixth Gun, Nowhere Men, Black Beetle and the other flash in the pans / money down the toilet over the last couple years.

There is still plenty of time for Scalped to be flash in the pan as well. How many options have actually become real tv shows? 2-3? out of 40?

I have now tried to read issue 1 of Scalped about 4 times. I can't get through it...I wouldn't bet a cent on Scalped #anything but that's just me...

Try a little harder to finish. I didn't think issue one was all that great either but by the end of the first trade I was hooked and finished the series in a week.

I picked up the TPB from the library to see what it's about. A good ending to the first arc, and I will probably finish up the series some time, but what gave me a hard time was the main character.

Basically, how he is drawn/what he looks like. Nothing about him (physically) makes him stand out from the rest of the characters or setting.

  8. Man all you guys have been blowin' that hard earned money on a second appearance. Livewire appears for the first time at the end of this issue and the web is fully stocked so please go buy some.

Oh and I wants my board credit for this one. ;)

Perhaps you should clarify before someone actually dumps money on this book.

It's his M.O. Would you expect anything less?

  9. I would normally re-send into CGC. But I asked the seller for a refund.

I'm afraid the comic is compromised. With this corner damage, I don't think it's still a 9.8.

Is the line right above the small print a crease on the comic, a crack in the case, or a reflection?

  10. Yeah it was in their received stacks and i have a buddy that lets me pick through them and i saw it asked him what he wanted for it he just said pay me half of what the comic is worth, So paid $1.50 for a 9.0 preacher #1 not to shabby.

He is a friend who knows you are into comics, so you get preferential treatment, and he asked you to pay half of what it is worth when you found a $100 book in a pile...and you gave him $1.50...?

Seems a bit dishonest, IMO. Sounds like you are proud of the fact that you took advantage of him. Am I missing something here?

Half Price Books would have put the book out for sale for a dollar.

Not necessarily. Most HPB stores have a locked box in the comics section for more "valuable" comics. As to who or what determines what goes in there, and at what price, I am not sure.

For instance, the one by me has Wolverine Minis 2-4 for about $25 each; some old Crime-related comics; and a Secret Wars #8 that I picked for $10 with my credit.

There was also another post around the boards with a store stocking an ASM #50 for $300.

  11. So I read the Symbiotic shilling thread and I vote to have JewellzCardzandCo on the probation list for eBay shilling.

This boardie doesn't sell here. His attitude is well regarded by another as "going off the deepend".

I usually wouldn't care less about a shiller but when a person acts and degrades person/people, then it becomes a little personal.

Today I have found out he is definitely a auction shiller. His auctions are usually if not always are put on private by not showing who is bidding shows to me that he is shilling those auctions.

    My original post:

He was selling a Spider-Man hologram CGC set under the name aznlovesauce2014 which was changed recently because to mock me. My username was aznlovesauce. I since then deactivated my account due to his actions and words. Prior to changing his name it was jewellzcardzandcomicz & waylonanderson.

So I offered him $250 for his set but he would only sell for $275. I told him I will only pay $250 and that was what I'm willing to spend. So I declined his offer through eBay. A few days later, he messaged me asking if I still want for $275, I stated no. He then blocked me from bidding (such a great attitude because somebody said no.) I then looked at his account and he put the same set for sale auction with no reserve. So I began to put in a bid and found out I got blocked. I asked him why and he went all ape *spoon* on me with meaningless name calling like a child.

Anyways, here is what he was selling as BIN:

Here is his auction style listing with a winner:

And after the winning of his auction I posted an update with my findings:

And today, I find out another seller is selling the exact same thing for the same price with the same pictures. Notice the description about shady monkey business...lol. Same type of description that was used on aznlovesauce2014.

    :o

    lol

Also notice the two different ebay users, aznlovesauce2014 and thebigboss420, have the same description in the listing. Even down to the CGC sets they "individually" own.

At least he/she gets points for being lazy.
