  1. Perhaps having two copies of Suspense 8 ending very close to each other is not helping. That being said, I am very happy with my purchase; I am a bit biased but I think it presents very well for a 2.0. It ends up I know the buyer who purchased the Suspense 8, but I don't think I'll be able to pry it from his hands.
  2. Get all the facts. Thanks.
  3. The Suspense was my first choice, and I thought I had it. But the seller operated in an odd way and another buyer got it in a bundle purchase. Like I said, if it was board rules it would be mine as well.
  4. You remembered the conversation from IG enough to copy and paste the graders notes you purchased during our discussion. That seems a bit selective. With your permission I could post the pictures I sent to the eBay seller to show the damage and reason for return.
  5. I hope it was a great deal, but that the Mask is going anywhere once it arrives. The Suspense was also graded by CGC and definitely a great deal. It was graded FN+ universal and priced below the Mask.
  6. It was from a private seller, at a good price. The seller also had a Suspense 8 which — if it had been forum rules — I would own as well. If the Mask comic was $8k I would not have even looked at it. I was rather upset at how the Suspense sale went down, but maybe I got the better comic in the end? We’ll see. Next on my list is selling stuff to make up for this purchase.
  7. Amen to that. It's my favorite comic cover period and I consider it a masterpiece. I don't think I'm alone. Higher prices may bring out more copies, but I believe classic covers will continue to appreciate and this book will continue to appreciate. Thank you all for your opinions. I agree that GA classic covers will continue to appreciate, and one such as this will soon grow out of my reach. From what I've seen, it does present well for a 2.0 and is within my (stretched) price range so I pulled the trigger. Now for it to arrive safely and post pictures when it does...
  8. That is strange. The seller must have gotten an offer off ebay and just sold it directly to avoid fees. It happens all the time DOrsnt eBay cap selling fees at $250 or something?
  9. Though prices on these guys are rather volatile, what do you think a Mask 1 CGC 2.0 detached cover would go for?
  10. Saw this thread and thought Conan #1 and Nic Cage would at least be in the first five posts.
  11. Yep, he's definitely a good dude. One of the better dealers out there by far! YMMV
  12. I don't know ANYTHING about this obscure book. It may be extremely rare too, I DON'T KNOW. Well I didn't know anything about this book either, except it fits the same "ordering screen" criteria as ASM 667 Dell'Otto (i.e 1 case pack with single comic dimensions). So I looked it up. Looks like MCS has at least 2 copies available, for $3.20 and $2.40. https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?q=kirby+genesis+3&pubid=&PubRng= And there are 2 more for sale currently on eBay. Again, no one is saying 667 DO isn't rare; we are saying -- just like Comichron -- one cannot determine number of copies based on this data alone. Again, if you have further proof -- hard, physical proof -- supply it. Or tell someone else how to get it; if your "friend" can dig up this info, why can't others? Otherwise this is just a multi-year troll exercise.
  13. Are the screenshots valiantman is posting your evidence of the one case pack, or do you have something different? I believe these are the conclusions of the last few dozen pages of this thread: 1. One cannot determine the number of ratio variants printed of any book. 2. ASM #667 Dell'Otto is a rare book. 3. One cannot say how rare ASM #667 is (see #1), unless new, hard evidence comes to light.
  14. No, what I'm asking you is "why" do you think Diamond would send out "singles" of the 667 Dell'otto, and not the 648 Campbell, both of which were 1:100's, from the same time frame, with what one would expect to be comparable order numbers (under normal circumstances, which this is clearly not, but let's say so for the sake of argument)? -J. Are you suggesting someone knew ahead of time only 1 "case pack" would be created of the 667? Or someone went in after the fact, and updated that page to say how many were actually sent out after all orders were placed? I may be getting my variants confused, but wasn't the 667 Dell'Otto added to the site late in the game?
  15. I'm not a diamond account holder. But there are other people on here who are, other than this guy (or at least they claim to be). The individual who provided me the info saw the original ASM 667 thread, saw some of the things that were being said and decided to investigate for himself. My own investigations were limited to public record. He reached out to some contacts at diamond and got the info. Since this info is not supposed to be public (as we are constantly being told by certain boardies through their multiple sock puppet accounts), I was asked not to publicize it, lest it be traced back to either him, or his source. I gave my word, and I will keep it until/unless he says I can post it myself or he posts it himself. -J. Not to volunteer anyone, but maybe @Chuck Gower can get this same info? @Jaydogrules - Are you able to provide him with the special password and handshakes to get to what you're alluding to?
