Which do you prefer to use? Do you see which you get best results with?
I have pretty much just used ComicConnect and ComicLink over the last decade or so. Results are varied and all over the place, you know how it goes, some books sell for more, some less. Sometimes you get surprised. I've had a few books listed for sale that didn't sell for my asking price and then put them up for auction just to see the final price go above my original asking price, so go figure!

Here's my copy of #172. I looked high and low to get a high-grade copy as they are almost impossible to find. I won this one on ComicConnect back in 2014. According to the census, there are only 7 copies graded higher and it may be less than that if some have been re-submitted. There is a single copy graded at 9.6 and none higher. Not an overly pricey book but not many available as the census shows only 65 total in Universal grade.

Here's the Hulk again finding trouble with a DC hero this time. Boy, for wanting to be left alone, the Hulk sure got around!

Congrats. La Prensa are very difficult to get. Though I am not from a Spanish speaking country, Novaro shows up from time to time here, but La Prensa nearly never!
Correction. There is another copy on the census, but it is listed under "El Sorprendente Hombre Arana #59". Apparently at some point recently CGC changed how they were labeling these books. Current labeling is like the one I posted here as I just got that book back from grading. Board member Frisco Larson has the other one and it is labeled like this, (see image below). Ironically, both our books are graded at 7.0

Yes, I've noticed that. When did CGC change how they are naming and listing these foreign editions? Personally, I think they should have kept it the way it was.
-
@Frisco LarsonI posted this in the general comics section in the foreign variant thread also, but it fits here too. So far this is my only graded "La Prensa" edition although I do have some other raw copies of Spider-Man, Avengers and X-Men that I haven't got graded yet. Frisco, you got some "amazing" copies yourself, what an impressive collection!

The very first Spider-Man I bought was #63 back in May of 1968 and I was greeted by this magnificent splash page. From that point on I bought every issue through #149 and somehow I picked up a #52 along the way too.

I contacted ComicConnect/Metropolis and they responded positively offering to work something out. I figure it's only fair that if I'm going to criticize their grading, I'll also post and give them credit where it's due. I'll update when it's sorted out
I agree, if the grades were off that much, they should be notified of a difference that large, (that is if your are talking about the House of Secrets #100 and 110 you mentioned earlier in the thread). Hopefully they will work something out with you.

Interesting point. Not like the newsprint of old. Baxter and mondo paper are not as prone to yellowing. What is the paper used in today's books and if it's completely inked, why even bother to denote a page quality?

The reason I bought the TTA 98 as a vf with the crease was not from a image.
That book and the raw Big Apple pedigree TTA was bought from their last big catalogue that Metro sent out.
No pictures except for the big books so it was bought sight unseen.
I have never bought a book from them that didn't have images of the book. It is rare that the books they have for sale don't have images. When was it you bought that book?
Where in the world was the Quality Control at CGC???
