  1. Oh my God, that is bad**s! Is one of those number one's a first printing? Also, I still don't count Signature Series as true 9.8's. The signatures just aren't worth that much considering the large amount of them and how easily you can obtain them. The signatures also degrade the true 9.8 condition of the book since the ink will eventually bleed through to the pages beneath. Fact. Well, now aren't you just a little ray of sunshine?
  2. there is a reserve, can't be that eager Agreed. Hate reserves.
  3. Thanks. The signature is a sample of cool books I have like others. Showcase22, your sig line inspires me to spend more money on better comic books. -J. It inspires me to find out where he lives...
  4. J. Morrow, big time congrats! Welcome to the club!
  5. Would you be willing to have any realistic prices on any of your books on eBay? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Showcase-4-CGC-3-0-CR-OW-MUST-SEE-1st-Appearance-Flash-/261585387175?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item3ce7b43ea7 Define "realistic", because on keys, that word seems to have gone out the window.
  6. I'm going to say $65k. -J. $52k is my guess.
  7. I am predicting $12,500 For some reason think this copy will sell a lot less than my copy just a few months back which sold for $16,500. I think with the movie bombing the TMNT hype took a slight hit going forward. The best time to sell any hype book is when the 1st preview or photos hit the web. Once it is in theaters its over. I hope I am dead wrong and the book goes for at least $15K. I don't think the movie "bombed." It actually did well enough to get a sequel. $300M worldwide is pretty good, we're just used to giant Marvel movie numbers.
  8. Wow, that is amusing. That copy was bought at C2 this year, I remember seeing it on a sellers wall before Vince bought it. It that the result of moisture getting trapped in an old bag and board? :hail: Provenance! As for your theory on its condition, maybe. Or it might have been a kid who forgot to take his rolled up comic out of his back pocket--and somehow mom missed it--and down it went, straight through a washing machine. My theory? Dad has a new baby boy, removes diaper, geyser ensues, grabs first thing in arms reach. Older sons AF15.
  9. Nice book brother! Welcome to the club!
  10. Thought Sodom and Gommorah was kinda jerky.
  11. That was internet bidding. Live bidding left to go.
  12. $7100. That 9.2 hammer price agrees with you. A 9.6 should be close to $10k easy. The collecting world will catch up eventually.
  13. 6/20/2014 This is an OPEN-FORUM thread, i.e., anyone can update the last revised set of guidelines (subject to minimum editorial review). ANY real controversies can be settled by poll within the thread. You don't like something? Make a poll. Welcome to the PGM Forum Here are some general guidelines for this thread. Remember that grading from a scan is not 100% reliable, but it is fun and interesting. Please contribute any suggestions you may have to these guidelines in this thread. PGM = "Please Grade My" GENERAL GUIDELINES 1. Please respect others while participating in the PGM Forum. Critique is valuable, but sometimes it can be over-the-line. Be conscious of what you post. 2. Please post only one (1) book per thread and a maximum of three (3) books per person per day. 3. You may provide a brief description of the book's condition and any hidden defects such as a loose or detached cover or centerfold, spine splits or tears, interior stains or tanning, and any other defect that is not readily discernible from a scan. 4. Please provide adequate size scans or, at the very least, clear photos of the book you are submitting for grading. Good quality scans are superior to photos, but if you don't have access to a scanner, photos will do. 5. Post scans of both front and back cover as a minimum. Additional scans or photos of problem areas are often helpful. 6. It's your thread - do as you like. But the recommended size of the scan within the thread is 850x1200 pixels. Anything larger tends to drag out the screen dimensions of the thread. You can link to larger scans if you like, but direct links are better. 7. The recommended file type is .jpeg. 8. You may want to place a colored backer board or paper behind your book prior to scanning. Sometimes this helps to accentuate the edges of your book. Be sure that the backer board is not the same or similar color as the general colors of the front or back cover. 9. If you post your book in the PGM forum for grading and eventually send it into CGC for professional grading, it is suggested that you post the CGC results and if possible, an image of the slabbed book. Many here would like to see how well their grading skills match up to those at CGC. 10. End of the day, I'm going to do what I want, when I want, how I want. TIPS ON SCANNING Don't crop the edges of your scans too tight to the book edges and corners. Allow space around the perimeter of the book. Many scanners have default settings to select the image on the scanner bed. It is suggested that you turn that feature off. 14. I think it's just a timing thing. (Most)Schools are out this week, vacations are starting, people are busy, and money is tied up.
