I think that news generates spec....
As the movies/TV shows get nearer there will be some spikage....it'll settle back down if the TV/movie is a flub...go up if it creates a franchise...

Some dealers had stacks...the simple fact is that with a 30,ooo print run....there are more people that want them then to supply....
If you want to talk about the illusion of scarcity....how many people know that debeers keeps diamond prices high, and just don't care....
Try asking someone to marry you without a diamond in your pocket?

Sorry if this has already been posted but I've been out of the shops and here for awhile now. I did have some things on pre-order and this book was one of them. Seems to be a comic worthy of this thread.
I couldn't agree more, after reading it....it's really good, and such a tiny tiny print run....also a lot of them got damaged due to the odd size of the book...

yeah I spec'd a little on them...
The writing on ghosted is kick , and the print run is mild...it has a future
The print run on Lazarus is pretty high....It's got a slow burn potential...
Image has killed it's spec market due to returnability and higher print runs....
I think most speculators are turning to boom, titan, oni...they put out high quality books/stories with lower print runs........

well the first issue is sold out and selling above cover now....
I just think that they are going to promote the book on their show 'comic book man'
I am not sure what to think of the book...it's a bit more high brow....I like the pig man suit...
you might be right...dats speculation, I think I only have to be right once every 4 books I choose as they go up an average of 15-20 bucks....and usually the ones I'm wrong with, someone still wants but not at inflated prices...

It's simple advertising, ultimate word of mouth....once word gets out beyond those that read the independants ( those happy select few, those band of brothers )

I'm thinking of when the 'death' of anyone made news...how there was a sudden bump in prices...
I think TV equals value as long as the comic predates the TV appearance...

It was an interesting read, but the prose got a little dense...some are gonna love it and some are gonna hate it...but what interests me is that it's sure to get promoted on TV ( it's by the comic book men )...and history shows that that makes a great value bump...
right now it seems to be sleeping selling under cover...

I don't think I ever laughed as hard as when I read mocking dead #2....I'm expecting big things from that comic...
You know when the zombie invasion actually happens, this comic will be worth booku bucks ( or kat food rations, whatever )

well that one is comming out on Dec 24th....
But Superior Spidey 24 is comming out on the 17th....which is a 3 of 4 part story line....
So we at least know that the superior spiderman and peter parker spiderman will be running side by side....

Lately I think the only way that you will see a serious jump in prices is if someone runs a shill auction somewhere....
I think that means that the print run has to be enough that a disreputable dealer somewhere has a pile of the comics....
I'm thinking that the target is 8-13 thousand print run

I see that superior spiderman is continuing as well durring this time,,,so I guess peter's coming back but superior is gonna also stay....?
Anyway I think that prices on superior have been lowish due to the uncertainty of the series continuing...so now?

prices are settling on the 3D covers....
there aren't enough of them to go around, there never was...
they look very cool...
I think the batman ones will always demand more then cover...esp. the rare ones...
