Dave Dorman Star Wars + Larry Hama GI Joe sketches CGC 9.8
SpideyFein replied to OV's topic in Copper / Modern Age Only
These Hama are Beautiful!! Wow!! Some great offerings!! Great stuff. -
I do know shenanigans like this happen often, but what really ticks me off is when there are only a few left and the dealer themselves increases the price. In this case, it went from $85-$100. Greedy beyond Greedy!

To me this is the most wild part of it all! When were these graded???? Does anyone know???? I assumed on site, but if they were graded ahead of time that is nuts! How any of these got blue labels and especially 9.9 and 10’s is straight BANANAS!!!! Something fishy in here!

THOR 4: LOVE AND THUNDER directed by Taika Waititi (11/5/21)
SpideyFein replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
It’s surely tough to get a perfect balance, which has only been done a couple of times. I think anyone who sees this movie will laugh, but not as the director/producers expected. I also have to bring up what a disappointment Russell Crowe was. He’s one of my favorite actors, and his role could have been played by any b-list actor. The use of the word “orgy” several times was overkill as well.- 959 replies

THOR 4: LOVE AND THUNDER directed by Taika Waititi (11/5/21)
SpideyFein replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
This movie was Goofy!!! It was one of those movies where you walk out and say they could’ve done so much more with it. A 6.0 at best for me. Some parts had me scratching my head. I think we all love that Marvel movies/shows incorporate humor/corny jokes and may feel they’ve been pushing it a little too much recently, but this one felt very forced.- 959 replies

Is an X-Men 1 CGC 3.5 a Smart Buy at $10k?

10 grand on the table, and cold feet!!! That’s a rarity. Usually money talks! Well, you know there are always other fish in the sea! -
Is an X-Men 1 CGC 3.5 a Smart Buy at $10k?
SpideyFein replied to Hey Kids, Comics!'s topic in Comics General
I would do it. It’s an X-Men 1. It presents well, no chipping, decent colors, no label notes, and a solid book overall. Even if prices fell further, I do believe they will come back up and this book will stay strong. We also have to take the Marvel Machine into account and they are just starting to touch X-Men. That being said, I would also take a look at what other big silver keys at this price point (TOS, JIM, etc.) you could get now and make a decision. Good luck! -
We hope you have a quick recovery!!! We’re rooting for you man!!!

Congrats to both. That’s a tough one!!!!! You never see those around.

What do you think of the new Detective Comics logo?
SpideyFein replied to Kripsys99's topic in Comics General
I agree. They could have enhanced the bat symbol further, even on the sides, or definitely on the cowl! They obviously knew what they were doing using the same font- crazy. -
Thank you Sha, and I’ll be reading Batman 251. I have a beater and have been looking at it for days, not even bagged and boarded- the indignity I also want to wish all of the Fathers a Happy Father’s Day as well. Enjoy the little things today!!!

Go with some Hush, and The Long Halloween. Ditko and Lee Spideys always work for me too. They are accessible right at your local library as well. It’s peaceful and quiet there too Get that enthusiasm back- we need your energy man!

Heritage Auctions, Jim Halperin and Market Manipulation
SpideyFein replied to Tnexus's topic in Comics General
I’m sure most would agree, but 75K for this is Bananas, like crazy bananas. Graded VHS are fairly new to the market, and all of the sudden a 75k sale. We all know where this is headed. Next is a Robert Englund owned sealed Nightmare On Elmstreet for 150k, and so on! I love grading like the next fellow, but grading a VHS suddenly raises its value 30-60k? C’mon. Anyhow, we’ll ride the wave like video games. These are both markets I love by the way, and I can’t help but feel this sense of exploitation once again. -
I agree. I remember going to the library to read graphic novels, and when I read Long Halloween I was amazed at the cleverness of the story and power of his art. May he Rest In Peace. God bless.

May he rest in piece. Another legend whose art could inspire and make you believe and smile. For those posting his stuff, keep posting. I have some mags I hope to post as well.
