  1. Wow, I just saw the 2-time defending champion will not be defending her title. I guess the rest of us have a chance now!
  2. I did have 2 books (1 minor and 1 severe) out of 25 in my previous box and now 12 out of 25 books in this box which is ridiculous. The box appeared not damaged in both cases. I hope it is an isolated incidence. I did not have any problems before.
  3. In most cases, SCS is IRREVERSIBLE (so quite sad).
  4. I agree some books do have the overhang and not SCS. This is especially seen in Silver Age Comics.
  5. Update: CGC has just finished reviewing a previous book that was sent back with SCS and agreed to reimburse me for the book. CGC is a very reputable company in my book and gets 5 stars. Now I have to have them review this latest batch. Wait until they get a load of these.
  6. Black_Adam and I were discussing and think that maybe CGC is making the slab pressure less to combat Newton Rings. But this less pressure may allow the book to slide sideaways causing the tears.
  7. Thank you Sean for the feedback: Black_Adam's latest submission result: Thanks, those are all really good grades! The GL #16 (7.0) was graded 4.5 by MCS and the GL #16 (4.5) was graded 5.0 by WW but I knew it had a waterstain that would hold it back. The Flash #139 and the HOM #236 both bumped up a grade and a half from MCS and the VoH #39 also went up a full grade. I think the rest all went up a half grade - well worth it! Hope you had a Happy New Year and there will soon be more comics headed your way! Sean
  8. SCS has the bottom of the comic hanging down as well. See pic.
  9. Some books have a slight miscut and the cover higher than the rest of the book. If the staples are stressed and you see tiny tears at the staples then it is SCS.
  10. Have another book my last submission with CGC with SCS as well (Totallly Awesome Hulk #22 CGC 9.8). I don't believe it is 9.8 with the small staple tears and shifting. Concerned this is happening more frequently (9-12 books out of my 25 books)
  11. Books were shipped in the 25 box carton so mainly upright. I use to use FedEx and no problems. Recently switched to UPS because issues with FedEx and CGC shipping in California. Carton appears alright though. The picture shows the worse one. The others were varying degrees of shifting.
  12. CGC will want this book back to review damaged and see if it can be fixed. How in the world can you reverse the tears and this much damage?
  13. I just got my most recent batch of books and I was very sad to see that 9-12 books had some damage with staple tears and mild to severe forms of Shaken Comic Syndrome (see pictures). Has anyone else had this recently? Did something happen at CGC to cause the comic to stick to the inner well and comic to slip and shift as seen in the pictures. It is so ugly that I cannot even look at it.
  14. So hard to be a comic store owner these days. No wonder a lot of stores order so few copies of new books these days.
  15. Seller offered to refund or send replacement. Good news is that I get to keep some free reader copies. The Spawn Director's Cut comic is really cool. The book is black and white and with the actual original art pages and with Todd's commentary/story plots. Does anyone know if other books have this? I feel is it totally worth reprinting and owning.
  16. Anyone else ever have this problem with the USPS? My package was literally bent in half. Seller's packaging was fine and should have protected the comics. So sad.
  17. This thread needs a bump. Happy New Year All!
  18. Cool. Double picks for the people at the end. It has bee a fun event watching everyone with their picks.
  19. There is a summary of prizes with small pictures on page 10 if anyone needs.
  20. With the 7th pick, spidermanbeyond picks: Prize 7: Mystery Box - donated by Azkaban (US shipping only)
