  1. Nice pulps! Just picked up this Fight 12 last week, really enjoying it. The monster looks like he just escaped from a Planet cover...
  2. My last book of 2018 was one I've been after for quite a few years. Didn't expect to be chasing it down on ebay a few days before Xmas while vacationing overseas. But can't recall seeing another sell recently, at least anywhere near affordable. Very happy to have it in hand today!
  3. Fantastic images from Matania, Flex. Many thanks for sharing all this! And your pictures from your India/Bhutan trip were great as well. I just returned from the actual island of Serendip (Sri Lanka) over the holidays. It was a magical time.
  4. I'll take it. Note it is Gangsters Can't Win, not Guns Against Gangsters...
  5. Well my space faring antics didn't extend to the stratospheric realms of Church Planets. I'm down to 11, but it will be a tough fight to finish things off (especially if these results impact future pricing). Please advise if you are considering selling an under-copy of a rivet issue! Needing 1-4, 6-8, 12, 15. But I did manage to snag an other-worldly copy of another title I've long been fond of. Finally finished my run of Startling Comics Lance Lewis covers! Excuse the cross posting, but wanted to get in on the fun.
  6. Wow, congrats on this and the 17 Rick. Absolutely superb! Somehow I knew you were in on this one. And apparently so did a few others!
  7. Good luck to everyone bidding this evening! Hope a few of you are able to bring home some of these beauties. It will be a thrilling evening for sure.
  8. 3 and 10 looking very strong too. Wondering how many finish in five figures? 1 looking like it will break six...
  9. I feel like when there is any doubt on a FH cover, they just attribute to Doolin. That 65 is great, that is the first issue that grabbed me and sucked me into the Planet madness. Fantastic run Jay! Been a pleasure watching your saga unfold.
  10. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Detective-Comics-35-DC-Comics-Golden-Age-1940-Hypodermic-Needle-Cover-CGC-2-0-/233028904946 I thought this was a nice presenting 2.0. But $13,901 seems pretty soft. GPA shows another 2.0 in 2016 for $19,120. But the other 2.0 had no tape, so likely a factor, and this same 2.0 went for $12,755 in May 2015, so really not much increase in 3.5 yrs. But you have to question the wisdom of a seller with less than 100 feedback and an auction ending on Thursday morning. Hopefully someone here got a nice deal!
  11. Pulled this one in. Pretty pumped about it too! A tough book in the run to find.
  12. Well remember Atomic 1 swiped cover from Tec 8, and also contained reprints from early More Fun stories. So they have a pattern... But Atomic was a weird series with not much coherence from issue to issue (other than some Baker art), and I can't find much info on the Publisher. In the same vein of swipes, I noticed mstrange had a Dynamic Comics 3 for sale, which has the below splash. Which is also the cover to Bull's Eye Comics 11. I believe those are both Chesler though so makes a little more sense.
  13. Congrats Spyder!! What a book! I'm still hoping someone on here has another one laying around...
  14. I'll take Rangers 12. I'd take that sensational 28 as well, but it is a little bit out of my price range...
  15. Knew it was too good to be true, esp with low feedback buyer with one sale in last year. @Action252kid, what did that book grade out as, out of curiosity? And do you still have?
  16. Beautiful books from everyone. And always hard to top things once Bedrock arrives! But all are very strong entries, I only own a couple books posted so far, and many I've never even seen. Here are my pics for books I've never really seen for sale since I bought mine. Just picked up the Silver Streak 20 by complete luck at a LCS last weekend, dealer said it was the first one he'd seen in 35 years. I think I've only seen one Miracle 1 sell since I got mine and when I saw the Cannonball 2 it was a complete impulse buy as I'd never even seen the series before (but who can resist giant devils and flying cars!). Figured I'd throw the Speed 33 in there since we've seen a few others, can't resist that Schomburg cover! Keep 'em coming!
  17. Congrats on completing your run, Jay! What an achievement! And the capper is such a beautiful copy of an iconic book. Cheers!
  18. What a nightmare. Glad to hear your family is safe, so sorry for the loss of property and irreplaceable items. My best wishes to everyone suffering through this.
  19. I love all of the early Flessel Sandman covers and have chased them for years. 40 is obviously the grail, so yeah, put me on the want list too, but I know finding one that is also a reasonable price is a major long shot. That said I met a collector last year who'd found one two years previously for only $5K (seller didn't quite realize what he had, I think), so you never know what you'll run in to and when. I've managed to acquire 42,44,47,51,and 60, so I only need the 40 and 46. I stumbled across this 44 4.0 at a random flea market last year, with a dealer set up in a giant room otherwise full of junk. He knew what he had but I still got a fair deal, as I think it was a slow weekend for him. One of my fav books (sorry about the dark/grainy scan, it really pops in hand). I love the adventure-oriented covers too, would love a 41 and 43, and the pre-40 books are just so fun as well. But the rebooted Sandman does absolutely nothing for me. Adventure Comics is really an under-rated title, for sheer variety if nothing else, and I wonder if anyone has managed put together a run of the first hundred issues of title (including New issues)? Talk about a challenge...
  20. Recent addition. Always loved this one. The idea of multiple mechanical Frankenstein-style robot monsters is pretty great.
  21. Stunning copy! Possibly my favorite in the run, I love the wacky perspective, the colorful spaceman, the trap door into a bondage scene, the wacky alien, the spaceship battle, and the black black cover is . GLWTS!
  22. I find the grading on PQ for brittle and slightly brittle to be confusing and perhaps too subjective. I'd love some clarification on what exactly merits each designation, but it seems like a trade secret, further muddying the waters. I've seen books with one bad corner get brittle and I've seen books that look brittle or have flakes coming off the cover getting a non-brittle designation. And I've seen books with a brittle cover and great interior pages, how to rate that? In my mind there is too much stigma with the designation. If you've got a book with a brittle spine and the pages have all split or are in danger of splitting if it gets open, that is obviously not good. But a book that was stored in a stack with an edge or corner hanging out that got exposed to bad conditions and has one flaking edge or corner but is otherwise structurally sound, I'm far less concerned about that. But I find no way to judge that based on current designations when it is in a grading slab. I would be absolutely thrilled to own either of the above books. Perhaps they should start rating level of brittleness, beyond just saying slightly, and indicate what part of the book is brittle.
