  3. PM Sent as an aside, it is possible to combine multiple WTB requests into a single thread instead of, you know, starting a thread for each and every individual piece you're looking for
  4. a +1 for COLLECTORZ. I've been using them since way back and love their service and operating system. I also use it to track my OA, which is handy. As for multiple copies of a comic I just add an entry for each one. Then using one of the modified user entries I assign each book a unique inventory number and write this number on the backing board. This way I can easily match the physical copy with the COLLECTORZ entry.
  5. That's the category you put it in. What you titled the image is irrelevant.
  6. James isn't afraid (or unable) to draw feet, or ANYTHING else for that matter. They just don't always fit into the composition.
  7. Awesome ! I came in a 'place' with my entries. I knew I would. This was great idea and I look forward to entering my budget friendly entires next year. Thanks @BCarter27 for getting this started
  8. It becomes less ballsy/risky if you compare it to the commission experience: With a commission you pay upfront for something sight unseen. If you REALLY like the artist you say "Do whatever you want, but please use character XXXXXX" and pray it gets done Buying 'published' sight unseen you pay up front for something unknown. You have an idea what character will be on it and the chances are pretty darn good it will get done ON TIME or near enough. Honestly, have you ever paid for 22 commissions by the same artist and had them all done in under 30 days?
  9. I've purchased on complete issue sight unseen. But it was issue 73 in the run so I was fairly certain I'd like it considering the run so far. And I love the artist's work, so that wasn't an issue. I will guess the collectors buying books sight unseen feel similarly. I don't think anyone is buying a complete books from a creative team they are not familiar with
  10. And that is their business model. Sell each collector in the hobby one overpriced piece of art. Seems to be working out great for them. I may have to rethink my tactics. Got to my website, I'm having a 50% HIGHER sale
  11. And he could have been a lot harsher. I've never heard a 100% positive comment in my many years of collecting, also. Even the collectors that admit to doing business with them say they got the art, are glad and will never deal with them again. But as long as even seasoned collectors do at least one deal with them they will continue as they do. A small amount of chit-chat and pleasantries doesn't negate the years and years of blatant and willful misrepresentation of art. Not once has a situation arisen where they've come forth publicly and said, "Wait, this is what really happened . . . " because they know they don't have a leg to stand on. Anyone that continues to do business with them gets everything they deserve.
  12. Just submit your favorite 2017 purchases. I'm certainly no BSD and manage to get a vote or two each year. I tend to choose the pieces I enter based more on getting the artists name more exposure since many names in my CAF can only be found in less than a half dozen galleries. It's less about comparing my $500 piece again a $50,000 and more about getting the art I like in front of more eyes. Looking forward to seeing ALL entries
  13. one of my alternate choices was this TICK DPS from Douglas Paszkiewicz
  14. O.K., I like where this is going. Keep the ideas flowing . . .
  15. Nice job, I tried drawing my own commissions until I realized I needed someone else to handle the art chores. I'd post a pic but I showed them to @SquareChaos and he said they should never be shown in public
