  1. I thought the final price for both pages definitely fell in the "good buy" category. An issue 1 page with the 1st appearance of The Duke for $3k, yeah, that's a good deal.
  2. Gary Martin is a name I don't see brought up often enough. His inking skills (and penciling) are A+
  3. For those still waiting(which is everyone ), I should be getting some interiors this weekend. In the meantime . . .
  4. Your hotline is a great idea, but you could have picked a better number . . . . 1-800-More-Art
  5. I've currently got 27 commissions going with Gary Martin. I don't share many of them here due to the limited appeal to anyone but me. However, these pencils just came in the email (the page still needs to be lettered and inked) and I'm thrilled how they came out.
  6. Some beautiful examples of cross hatching in THIS GALLERY
  7. Marker is used to fill in the larger black areas (Jesse's & Deputy Cindy's hair, large shadows ect)
  8. I haven't noticed any fading on mine. But then I'm the blasphemer that keeps his art in portfolios instead of on the wall.
  9. Similar to @ESeffinga I don't have one piece above all others. But I do have about a dozen that would be a crown jewel if I had the chance get just one. Pieces that are completely unobtainable I just don't bother contemplating. But a piece that is a 'possibility' (waiting for the Jim Carey gif) if i sold a percentage of my current collection are always on the periphery.
  10. I purchased my first original page off of eBay for $130. At the time the book it was published in was a $30-$40 book. Since then I couldn't justify spending money on a mass produced comic that could, instead, get me a one of a kind page. Sure, my collection is mostly junk, but it's one of a kind junk I still have several long boxes of comics. After I read them and I don't think they are going to get a re-read and aren't worth the space to store them they either go on eBay (if they are worth shipping) or sold at a local auction house where no one knows a damn thing about comics.
  11. It's part of his eclectic collection, certainly you are mistaken
  12. I doubt they are reproduction pages. Did you check if inker David Newbold worked on that issue?
  13. Only if it's "Thanks" to every comment. If there is a legit Q&A or discussion going on, the types of threads can be entertaining and enlightening about the art.
  14. He is named "evil kid" You know people with those types of off-putting names are typically jerks At $4000, I expect that page to get a "few" re-lists. Might as well put it on the same cycle as the issue 1 page by 'satchj3' I think that's going on it's 3rd or 4th year of re-lists, and the recent $2000+ price increase doesn't look to be helping any.
  15. I've lost that battle many times when contemplating parting with even a sliver of my 'focused' pages
  16. I've slowed down considerably with my PREACHER commissions, but I was happy to get Mark Dos Santos to agree to a piece during this years Phoenix Comic Con. Enjoy
  17. I guess we'll see what happens when a collector focuses on a particular series dumps his collection at once
