  1. I'm following about 135 galleries. Only 36 have been updated in 2017. About half haven't been updated in 5 or more years. I typically watch anyone posting art I like. Not necessarily art I collect, but i like their collecting tastes.
  2. The buyer got this page for a decent price. I'm thinking this one slipped under the radar. Has one shot of Jesse, but certainly not going to check the box in someone's collection for a "nice Jesse page."
  3. I just absolutely LOVE cryptic art day posts. No, wait, no I don't If you're going to take the time to do an art day post (and copy and paste it to every forum you visit) please add a little info. Title, artist, page type, SOMETHING. Unless, of course, it's a sad attempt to get on the 'most views' list and being vague is the only way to accomplish that. In that case continue to post the "I got something by someone with some stuff on it" links
  4. The only thing more impressive than this cover is how you managed the purchase/sale/trade and it all worked out. Congrats !
  5. They shoulda never given you <collectors> money ! ! F*** your <portfolio>, <collector>!
  6. The anonymity of buying on eBay and buying/selling on CLink allows people to do these sorts of things without any accountability. Would they do the same thing if we knew who they were and they got the rep as a "make_mine_marvel jr." It's there money, so who am I to judge. If they want to outbid everyone, raise the price and try to sell it a week later I applaud their gumption It reminds me of the commercial where a guy wins a painting and he stands up and says, "I'd like to go ahead and sell now"
  7. It is annoying, especially when it's a piece you'd/I'd like for the personal collection. But as @Twanj said, it's not a flip until it's flipped. Asking price and selling price aren't always the same number. He got the piece in Nov 2016 and is trying to sell it Jun 2017. Some people around here call that "Collecting"
  8. I don't know, I like this cover better (artist is a board member, but I'm sure he'd rather remain anonymous)
  9. This exactly. But the reason we're talking about her so much is her name needs to be brought up more as a fantastic artist that needs a lot more recognition
  10. And how long until auction results make the eBay BIN prices look reasonable
  11. REALLY shocked that BOTH of the issue 49 pages went higher than the issue 6 page in tonight's CLink auctions. C'mon, Tulip is driving away from Jesse with I thought as far as PREACHER was concerned there was a "sub-issue 11 tax/premium" I guess not
  12. just search FB for "Art collecting Addicts!"
  13. Not me. I prefer the "get it now or it's going back in the vault"
  14. Great stuff. Alex. I love that the cabinet is high enough to set a portfolio on for perusal without having to bend over too far
  15. I'm in a Facebook group called "Comic Art Addicts" DON'T JUDGE
  16. I added another PREACHER sketchcard triptych from Val Hochberg during this weekends Phoenix Comic Con!
  17. Great write-up, Alex. Thanks for putting in the effort.
  18. Not to get too off-topic (because we all love a poorly drawn MJ, amirite?), but WTF is going on with this GALLERY?
  19. Definitely use the page from the story. Story page 8 in the comic is going to be the same as story page 8 in the TPB. Personally I name all of my scans by title/issue/page. So a typical file name will be "comicbook09pg16" This keep all of the files nice and organized. If the short story is published in an anthology I'll still use the printed page placement for the numbering. So, if i have an eight page story it may be labeled pages 38-45 in my files (and on CAF)
