  1. "Took Down" = OA slang of the hip meaning one has won a particular item of mention at auction. Get with it, nerd !
  2. I'd definitely like to get a more automated site, just need to find the right person to build it. It is absolutely something that is needed in the hobby.
  3. Have an AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 361 CGC 9.4 ending on eBay in less than an hour. HERE IS THE LINK
  4. My first entry is an unpublished commission from an Italian artist. I've found a couple of artists on PATREON that have a support level that includes original art after X number of months (time payments ) . Marco Guaglione is one of them
  5. First, I'd like to thank @BCarter27 for starting the other thread I think anyone looking to get into OA would be scared off after a couple of days on these boards. Heck, even I feel like I'm the only one here that isn't making in excess of 7-figures annually. Every piece discussed is $XK, auction predictions are all $XXK, "This piece was a bargain at only $6750." and so on. There is PLENTY of great art out there that can be had for <$300 and that thread is going to show it off. (sadly the commissions I got from Gary Martin were $350 ) I look forward to seeing what all of you playas got this year for $300 or less.
  6. When the PREACHER tv series mentioned they were going to reprint comics with variant covers I thought, "Self, here's your chance to get a PREACHER cover finally." I had one lined up to buy, then the seller came back and said AMC was buying all of the variant cover OA . Foiled again. My point is, it seems Neal's OA pricing may even be too steep for AMC TV Money* *YMMV
  7. Not to totally derail this thread about the Fleecs Fiasco, but I'm glad this ended positively. He knew he got in over his head but he handled it like a champ. This was a learning lesson he can now own and not have to duck and dodge at every convention forever if he had handled it a different way(ie, ignored it). BTW, I remember this situation very clearly since I ordered several sketch cards from Tony when this was available. I never knew about the blog until today (Thanks, @Alxjhnsn ), but looks like mine were done Within the first 50 DAYS.
  8. I think everyone understands that the colored version is just for reference. BTW, where does everyone get those nice color versions? Digital comics?
  9. You can post two pieces. I only see one posted from you You can post one more (I suggest the Maleficent , but then my taste in popular art isn't all that refined)
  10. My response has already been stated in the last panel
  11. You wouldn't believe how difficult it is to find someone to hand letter a page these days. I'm doing 20+ commissions with a very competent penciller/inker and i want the text to be lettered directly on the page. I had someone sign on, but he was only able to do four pages in the time the artist drew 27. So, just recently I have been looking for a new letterer. I have asked/looked everywhere I could think of. Either people are too busy or they only do digital. So, if you find that artist that doesn't mind lettering and is competent give him/her all the work they can handle!
  12. Sorry about the pics, but my scanner isn't set up at the moment.
  13. Making three slabs available. Standard sales thread rules apply. Shipping will be $10 for priority mail. Paypal/old school checks accepted PM/Post in thread with any questions. I will have pictures posted this evening. - AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 361 CGC 9.6 - $125 - AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 361 CGC 9.4 - $110 - Moved to eBay - ALIAS 1 CGC 9.6 - $115 - Moved to eBay Thanks for looking
  14. Looks very cool. I used to photoshop the OA and published versions next to each other when i first started posting to CAF. I like what you did here, but the thought of doubling the number of portfolios will keep me from ever doing this The best example I've seen doing something like this is in the CAF of Murray Clack
  15. Steve Dillon used a blue pencil to layout his pages before inking them. So all PREACHER pages show varying bits of blue pencil
  16. I don't remember my very first comic, but I do remember the only 3 I had as a kid. I must have acquired these from one of my older brothers and still have them today. Thanks to CAF's "FAVORITE ARTWORK GALLERY" feature I've been able to 'collect' 13 pages from these three books. All of the pages are safely being stored in other collector's galleries, but I've gathered them all {HERE}
  17. No, it's not from a published comic. And Peggy Bundy wasn't the model. Just part of a set of commissions I'm doing for THIS . I'm a bit of a Rollins fan.
