  1. Right now I'm betting high on Static. The character has a strong following. Just recently a fan made video was released on YouTube and went viral getting over 600k views.
  2. Holly mess that happened to me as well! this happened about 12 years ago or so. at that time I wasn't active on eBay, just opened an account to auction a boat. Montha after that all of a sudden I started getting charges on my account. It got to I believe 120$ when I noticed (I think it was 4$ at a time).. I called eBay and they told me I was listing cars there for sale and that each listing cost 4 bucks. I was shocked but I never got the money from the sales obviously. So either seller had cash pickup sales or different bank account for the sold items and used mine for the listings
  3. Yup my thoughts exactly. Seems like at some point seller was in good standings but all of a sudden an avalanche of negs. Which is why I wonder what happens to the money. Assuming the perpetrator had access to his bank account as well
  4. I wonder if Paypal got their money back
  5. This guy's a real piece of work. Juan Carlos Morales aka euclidianidiocracy5 on eBay Sold 15-20 high end items and never shipped a single one. He listed them with 10 business day delivery turn so he could get away with as many listing that he could and never shipped a single one https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?sid=euclidianidiocracy5&isRefine=true&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1
  6. What is this, a trick question? Grades are not print runs or variants, nor should they be considered as such
  7. The collectible is the same the grade is different. Simple The fact that its listed on someones inventory as "1 of 10" doesnt make it the only known copy in such condition, nor should it. The census is a cool tool to follow, but it shouldnt be quantified as, lets say, a print run. Theres plenty of "healthy" debate regarding that topic
  8. It shouldnt Grades are not the collectible, they grade the collectible
  9. I guess you took the year off when it was a $250+ book in 9.8
  10. Fun batch. What's the overall condition? i acquired 12 Gold Key 3-packs a few months ago which were all brand new (so roughly 9.2-9.4). They're nice to have
  11. They will as soon as the first cinematic depiction of Darkseid will surface
  12. Actually my short answer was longer than the long answer
  13. Wellll I'm a copper lover so I wouldn't necessarily "invest" 50k into those. But if it was available on the market I would probably buy this piece for 50k
  14. 7 years into serious collecting and I still haven't spent even half of that amount. Yet still I managed to put together a collection I always dreamed of having AND earning a profit in the process. So my short answer is I wouldn't invest 50k in one or two books as an investment
  15. Let me be the first here (and probably only one) that will actually relate to your pain. While it's easy for me to take a stand and vilify you as an overgrader, I'm gonna try and approach it from a whole different angle. You compared your dissatisfaction with CGC to your satisfaction with EBay based on 2 transactions you had with the former. While im sure that you are ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY confident with your grading skills, and based on your feedback from eBay buyers to date proving just that, lets just assume that you are right. You still only had 2 transactions with CGC. I know, to some that's all you'll need to have.. you estimated you'd monetize on your investment, and it didn't work that way. Sure, the easy way out is to not submit anymore. But let's just think that you started with eBay and only had 2 transactions with them which you auctioned for .99 and LOST JUST AS MUCH AS YOU DID WITH YOUR INITIAL ASSUMPTIONS WITH CGC. Would you stop using eBay to sell your books? CGC is as essential to comic book trading as eBay. You can do GREAT with both just as much do LOUSY with both. Just need more practice and time. And yes, unfortunately, with BOTH, you WILL pay for your education. I hope this helps
  16. One has to eat many Mickey Dees meals in order to save up for a Peter Lugers :-D
  17. I have no idea what that list consist of. Like.. just getting the titles doesn't mean anything. When you say box of limited/minis & 1-shot. Are those complete? If so, there's a hungry market for those and those are usually easy to list and flip. The minis don't have to be relatively sought after in order to flip them they function more like tpb. People wanna read complete storylines. Also if seller listed them in storyline order (no man's land issues together, crisis books together etc) DO NOT BREAK THOSE. Easier to list/sell them as a complete set instead. Even if they consist of keys. Just make sure you list them with the key on top/on subject line. Fun project. Enjoy
  18. There are very few modern newsstand books with no significant key attributes that sell for much. Newsstands definitely came to be a sellers pitch nowadays. It used to be like the supersize fries that the fat girl at the Mickey-D's drive through window would ask u to get. Now it's like the roast prime rib plate at Peter Luger's
  19. Lets just agree that your definition of politician is different than mine. A politician is not, and should never be, considered a celebrity. Im very well aware of the shifts in our political climate in recent years. It allows you to accept that as long as it (hopefully?) feeds your political perspective. I chose NOT to accept it, once again, because it gets into other mediums. Yesterday it was music. Today its comic books. An active politician in congress ALWAYS have active lobbyists. Its a little naive to think that all you need a campaign for is to get elected. If youre doing it right, you ALWAYS have a budget working for you. And yes, Im sure by now that you think that her paid staff has better things to do. Of course, she has a HOT selling comic book based on its content alone
  20. She's a politician. Not a celebrity. Her campeign is taking the "celebrity" approach to push her political narrative. That's also how she got into comic books. understanding that, and that alone, will make you realize why a comic book hobbyist like myself will find it outrageous that she is now a "thing" in a market like ours
  21. Read carefully what I wrote again: i don't say that my opinions are facts. They're mine to have. You're entitled to yours. If you think that I have better things to do than sit here and spoon feed you logical market trends and political wrong doings as they take place in both arenas every day. Guess again. So instead, sit back on your high horse and enjoy arguing with yourself about what YOU believe.
  22. Ahh the good old "Me and others vs You" line A little egotistical to state that don't you think. Are you as arrogant with people you meet in real life as well or just with people online
  23. Are you asserting that her popularity (or lack of) warrants the ridiculous high prices we've experienced on the market as of late with said book? Or did you just find ground to promote her with this thread please elaborate
